² in which you once walked according to the age of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit which is now working in the sons of disobedience,

⁷ And the Lord said to the devil, From where have you come? And the devil answered the Lord and said, I have come from compassing the earth, and walking up and down in the world.

¹⁶ While he was yet speaking, there came another messenger, and said to Job, Fire has fallen from heaven, and burned up the sheep, and likewise have devoured the shepherds; and I alone have escaped, and have come to tell you.

¹⁹ suddenly a great wind came from across the desert, and caught the four corners of the house, and the house fell upon your children, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped, and have come to tell you.

⁷ if my foot has turned aside out of the way, or if my heart has followed my eye, and if I too have touched gifts with my hands;

¹⁴ because of the enemies of Your hand. O Lord, destroy them from the earth; scatter them in their life, though their belly has been filled with Your hidden treasures; they have been satisfied with uncleanness, and have left the remnant of their possessions to their babes.

¹ Woe to the apostate children, says the Lord; you have framed counsel, not by Me, and covenants not by My Spirit, to add sins to sins;

⁴ Against whom have you been rioting? And against whom have you opened your mouth, and against whom have you loosed your tongue? Are you not children of perdition? A lawless seed?

¹⁰ For because of these things the land mourns; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up; and their course has become evil, and so also their strength.

⁹ From the time the hills existed Israel has sinned. There they stood. War waged against the children of iniquity,

¹⁹ "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' And so wisdom is justified by her children."

⁴³ "When an unclean spirit goes out from a man, he goes through waterless places, seeking rest, and does not find any. ⁴⁴ Then he says, 'I will return to my house from where I came out.' And when he comes, he finds it unoccupied, swept, and adorned. ⁴⁵ Then he goes and takes along with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and entering in they dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Thus it shall also be for this wicked generation."

³⁸ And the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the evil one.

²¹ When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his possessions are in peace. ²² But when a stronger than he comes upon him, he overcomes him, he takes away his full armor in which he had trusted, and distributes his spoils. ²³ He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters. ²⁴ "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through waterless places, seeking rest; and not finding any, he says, 'I will return to my house from where I came out.' ²⁵ And coming, he finds it swept and adorned. ²⁶ Then he goes and takes along seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they come and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first."

⁸ So the master praised the unrighteous manager because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this age are shrewder in their own generation than the sons of light.

² And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might kill Him, for they feared the people. ³ Then Satan entered into Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve.

³¹ And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Behold, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.

⁷ The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify about it, that its works are evil.

²³ And He said to them, "You are from below; I am from above. You are from this world; I am not from this world.

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world shall be cast out.

² And after supper, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him,

²⁷ And after the piece of bread, then Satan entered him. Therefore Jesus said to him, "What you do, do quickly."

³⁰ I will no longer speak many things with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.

¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

¹¹ of judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

³ But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart for you to lie to the Holy Spirit, and for you to keep back for yourself from the price of the land?

³⁵ And having quieted the crowd, the city clerk said: "Men of Ephesus, for what man is there who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is the temple keeper of the great goddess Artemis, and of the image fallen from heaven?

² And do not fashion yourselves after this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹⁰ Yet I certainly did not mean with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world!

¹¹ And such were some of you! But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

⁴ among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them.

⁴ who gave Himself for our sins, so that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

³ among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the senses, and were by nature children of wrath, as also the rest.

²² that you put off, concerning your former way of life, the old man which is being corrupted according to the deceitful lusts,

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies.

²¹ And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled

⁶ Because of which things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience, ⁷ in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

¹⁰ For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and traveled to Thessalonica--Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

⁷ For let not that man suppose that he shall receive anything from the Lord;

⁴ Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world is constituted an enemy of God.

¹⁴ as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves after the former lusts, as you did in your ignorance;

³ For we have spent enough of our past lifetime to accomplish the will of the Gentiles--having walked in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

¹⁴ having eyes full of adultery and unable to cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart having been trained in greediness, they are accursed children. ¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ Because everything that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not from the Father but is from the world. ¹⁷ And the world is passing away, and its lust; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

⁸ He who practices sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this reason the Son of God appeared, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

¹⁰ By this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Everyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

⁴ You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

⁴ because everything having been born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that has overcome the world--your faith.

¹⁹ We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the evil one.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

⁸ And all those who dwell on the earth shall worship him, whose name is not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

¹⁴ And he deceives my own people who dwell on the earth by the signs which were given to him to do before the Beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound--and came to life! -from the sword.

¹⁷ Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It has been done!"

² And he seized the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, he who deceives the whole world, and he bound him for a thousand years;
