They have well said all that they have spoken. ²⁹ O that there were such a heart in them, that they should fear Me, and keep My commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their sons forever! ³⁰ Go, say to them, Return to your houses, ³¹ but you stand here with Me, and I will tell you all the commands and the statutes and the judgments, which you shall teach them, and let them do so in the land which I give them for an inheritance. ³² And you shall take heed to do as the Lord your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right or to the left, ³³ according to all the way which the Lord your God commanded you to walk in it, that He may give you rest; and that it may be well with you, and you may prolong your days on the land which you shall inherit.

¹⁰ You all stand today before the Lord your God, the heads of your tribes, and your elders, and your judges, and your officers, every man of Israel, ¹¹ your wives, and your children, and the stranger who is in the midst of your camp, from your hewer of wood even to your drawer of water, ¹² that you should enter into the covenant of the Lord your God and into His oaths, as many as the Lord your God appoints you this day; ¹³ that He may appoint you to Himself for a people, and He shall be your God, as He has said to you, and as He swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. ¹⁴ And I do not appoint to you alone this covenant and this oath; ¹⁵ but to those also who are here with you today before the Lord your God, and to those who are not here with you today.

²⁹ They had not sense to understand; let them reserve these things against the time to come. ³⁰ How should one pursue a thousand, and two put tens of thousands to flight, if God had not sold them, and the Lord had not delivered them up?

⁷ Be strong, therefore, and very courageous, to observe and do as Moses My servant commanded you; and you shall not turn from there to the right hand or to the left, that you may be wise in whatsoever you may do.

⁶ Therefore strive diligently to observe and do all things written in the Book of the Law of Moses, that you turn not to the right hand or to the left;

⁵ And now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children are as their children. Yet behold, we are reducing our sons and our daughters to slavery, and some of our daughters are enslaved; and there is no power of our hands, for our fields and our vineyards belong to the nobles.

¹⁵ In those days I saw in Judah men treading wine-presses on the Sabbath, and carrying sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, figs, and every kind of burden, and bringing them into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day.

²¹ Then I testified against them, and said to them, Why do you lodge in front of the wall? If you do so again, I will stretch out my hand upon you. From that time they came not on the Sabbath.

Pause. ⁸ Hear, My people, and I will speak to you, O Israel; and I will testify to you; if you will hearken to Me; ⁹ there shall be no new god in you; neither shall you worship a strange god. ¹⁰ For I am the Lord your God, that brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

¹³ If My people had hearkened to Me, if Israel had walked in My ways, ¹⁴ I would have put down their enemies very quickly, and would have laid My hand upon those that afflicted them. ¹⁵ The Lord's enemies would have lied to Him; but their time shall be forever.

² My soul longs and faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh have exalted in the living God.

⁸ He has remembered His covenant forever, the word which He commanded for a thousand generations; ⁹ which He established as a covenant to Abraham, and He remembered His oath to Isaac. ¹⁰ And He established it to Jacob for an ordinance, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant;

³ Blessed are they that keep judgment, and do righteousness at all times.

²³ So He said that He would have destroyed them, had not Moses His chosen one stood before Him in the breach, to turn Him away from the fierceness of His anger, so that He should not destroy them.

¹⁶ O Lord, I am Your servant; I am Your servant, and the son of Your handmaid; You have burst my bonds.

¹ Alleluia. Blessed are the blameless in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. ² Blessed are they that search out His testimonies; they will diligently seek Him with the whole heart. ³ For they that work iniquity have not walked in His ways. ⁴ You have commanded us diligently to keep Your precepts. ⁵ O that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes. ⁶ Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect to all Your commandments.

⁵ But them that turn aside to crooked ways the Lord will lead away with the workers of iniquity; but peace shall be upon Israel.

²⁰ For you will say concerning their thoughts, that they shall take your cities in vain.

²⁷ Turn not aside to the right hand, nor to the left, but turn away your foot from an evil way: ^(4:27A) for God knows the ways on the right hand, but those on the left are crooked: ^(4:27B) and He will make your ways straight, and will guide your steps in peace.

¹⁹ An unjust witness kindles falsehoods, and brings on quarrels between brothers.

³² But the adulterer through lack of understanding procures destruction to his soul. ³³ He endures both pain and disgrace, and his reproach shall never be wiped off.

⁵ A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that accuses unjustly shall not escape.

¹⁶ Wash, and be clean; remove your iniquities from your souls before My eyes; cease from your iniquities; ¹⁷ learn to do well; diligently seek judgment, deliver him that is suffering wrong, plead for the orphan, and obtain justice for the widow. ¹⁸ And come, let us reason together, says the Lord; and though your sins be as purple, I will make them white as snow; and though they be as scarlet, I will make them white as wool. ¹⁹ And if you are willing, and hearken to Me, you shall eat the good of the land;

¹⁰ Woe to their soul, for they have devised an evil counsel against themselves, saying against themselves, Let us bind the just, for he is burdensome to us; therefore shall they eat the fruits of their works.

⁶ The voice of one saying, Cry; and I said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.

¹⁸ And if you had hearkened to My commandments, then would your peace have been like a river, and your righteousness as a wave of the sea.

¹ Hearken to Me, you that follow after righteousness, and seek the Lord; look to the solid rock, which you have hewn, and to the hole of the pit which you have dug. ² Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for he was alone when I called him, and blessed him, and loved him, and multiplied him.

⁶ And I will give it to the strangers that attach themselves to the Lord, to serve Him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be to Him servants and handmaids; and as for all that keep My Sabbaths, from profaning them, and that take hold of My covenant,

¹³ If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, so as not to do your pleasure on the holy days, and shall call the Sabbaths delightful, holy to God; if you shall not lift up your foot to work, nor speak a word in anger out of your mouth,

⁹ out of all their affliction; not an ambassador, nor a messenger, but He Himself saved them, because He loved them and spared them; He Himself redeemed them, and took them up, and lifted them up all the days of old.

² The Lord lives, with truth, in judgment and righteousness, then shall nations bless by him, and by him they shall praise God in Jerusalem.

²³ but I commanded them this thing, saying, Hear My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all My ways which I shall command you, that it may be well with you.

¹⁰ They must certainly be borne, for they cannot ride of themselves. Fear them not, for they cannot do any evil, and there is no good in them.

⁴ Yet I sent to you My servants the prophets early in the morning; and I sent, saying, Do not do this abominable thing which I hate.

³¹ They approach you as a people that come together, and sit before you, and hear your words, but they will not do them; for there is falsehood in their mouth, and their heart goes after their pollutions. ³² And you are to them as a sound of a sweet, well-tuned psaltery, and they will hear your words, but they will not do them.

²⁴ And My servant David shall be a prince in the midst of them. There shall be one shepherd of them all; for they shall walk in My ordinances, and keep My judgments, and do them.

²⁶ This decree has been set forth by me in every dominion of my kingdom, that men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel; for He is the living and eternal God, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed, and His dominion is forever.

⁴ And I prayed to the Lord my God, and confessed, and said, O Lord, the great and wonderful God, keeping Your covenant and Your mercy to them that love You, and to them that keep Your commandments; we have sinned;

² And they desired fields, and plundered orphans, and oppressed families, and spoiled a man and his house, even a man and his inheritance.

Behold, is not this as a brand plucked from the fire? ^{3 (3:4)} Now Joshua was clothed in filthy garments, and stood before the Angel. ^{4 (3:5)} And the Lord answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And He said to him, Behold, I have taken away your iniquities, and clothed you with a long robe, ^{5 (3:6)} and place a clean turban upon his head. So they placed a clean turban upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the Angel of the Lord stood by.

⁵ And I will draw near to you in judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the witches, and against the adulteresses, and against them that swear falsely by My name, and against them that keep back the hireling's wages, and them that oppress the widow, and afflict orphans, and that wrest the judgment of the stranger, and do not fear Me, says the Lord Almighty.

⁴ Remember the law of My servant Moses, accordingly as I charged him with it in Horeb for all Israel, even the commandments and ordinances.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him alone you shall serve.' "

²¹ "You have heard that it was said to the ancients, 'You shall not kill,' and whoever kills will be liable to the judgment. ²² But I say to you that whoever gets angry with his brother without cause will be liable to the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Empty-head!' will be liable to the council. But whoever says, ' fool!' will be liable to the fiery hell.

²⁷ "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' ²⁸ But I say to you, that whoever looks at a woman in order to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

³³ "Again you have heard that it was said to the ancients, 'You shall not swear falsely, but you shall pay your oaths to the Lord.' ³⁴ "But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne;

²¹ "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. ²² Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name we cast out demons, and in Your name we did many mighty works?' ²³ "And then I will confess to them, 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, you who work iniquity!' ²⁴ "Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and does them, I will compare him to a wise man who built his house upon the rock: ²⁵ and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew and fell against that house; and it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock. ²⁶ And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them, will be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand: ²⁷ and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And its fall was great."

¹⁷ For assuredly I say to you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and they did not see, and to hear what you hear, and they did not hear."

⁴ For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who curses father or mother, with death let him die.' ⁵ But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "It is a gift to God, whatever profit you might have received from me"-- ⁶ then by no means should he honor his father or mother.' Thus you have nullified the commandment of God on account of your tradition.

¹⁸ He said to Him, "Which ones?" Jesus said, " 'You shall not murder,' 'You shall not commit adultery,' 'You shall not steal,' 'You shall not bear false witness,' ¹⁹ ' Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "

³ Therefore whatever they may say to you to observe, observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.

³⁵ so that on you may come all the righteous blood being shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Assuredly I say to you, all these things shall come upon this generation. ³⁷ "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

⁶³ But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, "I adjure You by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!"

Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? ¹⁶ So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, should she not be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?"

⁴² saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things pertaining to your peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.

⁷ to those who by the endurance of good works are seeking glory and honor and incorruption--eternal life.

²⁰ Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

⁷ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known lust unless the law had said, "You shall not covet." ⁸ But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me every kind of lust. For apart from the law sin was dead.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

⁷ Now if the ministry of death, having been engraved in letters on stones, came to be with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently into the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, the glory which was passing away, ⁸ how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? ⁹ For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

²⁰ Now then, we serve as ambassadors for Christ, as though God were appealing through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
