¹ And I, in the first year of Cyrus, stood to strengthen and confirm him. ² And now I will tell you the truth. Behold, there shall yet rise up three kings in Persia: and the fourth shall be far more richer than all. And after that he is master of his wealth, he shall rise up against all the kingdoms of the Greeks. ³ And there shall rise up a mighty king, and he shall be lord of a great empire, and shall do according to his will. ⁴ And when his kingdom shall stand up, it shall be broken, and shall be divided to the four winds of heaven; but not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled over; for his kingdom shall be plucked up, and given to others beside these. ⁵ And the king of the south shall be strong; and one of their princes shall prevail against him, and shall obtain a great dominion. ⁶ And after his years they shall associate; and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north, to make agreements with him, but she shall not retain power of arm; neither shall his seed stand: and she shall be delivered up, and they that brought her, and the maiden, and he that strengthened her in these times. ⁷ But out of the flower of her root there shall arise one in his place, and shall come against the host, and shall enter into the strongholds of the king of the north, and shall fight against them, and prevail. ⁸ Yea, he shall carry with a body of captives into Egypt their gods with their molten images, and all their precious vessels of silver and gold; and he shall last longer than the king of the north. ⁹ And he shall enter into the kingdom of the king of the south, and shall return to his own land. ¹⁰ And his sons shall gather a multitude among many. And one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through, and he shall rest, and collect his strength. ¹¹ And the king of the south shall be greatly enraged, and shall come forth, and shall war with the king of the north, and he shall raise a great multitude; but the multitude shall be delivered into his hand. ¹² And he shall take the multitude, and his heart shall be exalted; and he shall cast down many thousands; but he shall not prevail. ¹³ For the king of the north shall return, and bring a multitude greater than the former, and at the end of the times of years an invading army shall come with a great force, and with much substance. ¹⁴ And in those times many shall rise up against the king of the south; and the children of the spoilers of your people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; and they shall fail. ¹⁵ And the king of the north shall come in, and cast up a mound, and take strong cities; and the arms of the king of the south shall withstand, and his chosen ones shall rise up, but there shall be no strength to stand. ¹⁶ And he that comes in against him shall do according to his will, and there is no one to stand before him; and he shall stand in the land of beauty, and it shall be consumed by his hand. ¹⁷ And he shall set his face to come in with the force of his whole kingdom, and shall cause everything to prosper with him, and he shall give him the daughter of women to corrupt her, but she shall not continue, neither be on his side. ¹⁸ And he shall turn his face to the islands, and shall take many, and cause princes to cease from their reproach: nevertheless his own reproach shall return to him. ¹⁹ Then he shall turn back his face to the strength of his own land, but he shall become weak, and fall, and not be found. ²⁰ And there shall arise out of his root one that shall cause a plant of the kingdom to pass over his place, earning kingly glory, and yet in those days shall he be broken, yet not openly, nor in war. ²¹ One shall stand on his place, who has been set at nought, and they have not put upon him the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in prosperously, and obtain the kingdom by deceitful ways. ²² And the arms of him that overflows shall be washed away as with a flood from before him, and shall be broken, and so shall be the head of the covenant. ²³ And because of the leagues made with him he shall work deceit; and he shall come up, and overpower them with a small nation. ²⁴ And he shall enter with prosperity, and that into fertile districts; and he shall do what his fathers and his fathers' fathers have not done; he shall scatter among them plunder, and spoils, and wealth; and he shall devise plans against Egypt, even for a time. ²⁵ And his strength and his heart shall be stirred up against the king of the south with a great force; and the king of the south shall engage in war with a great and very strong force; but his forces shall not stand, for they shall devise plans against him. ²⁶ And they shall eat his provisions, and shall crush him, and he shall carry away armies as with a flood, and many shall fall down slain. ²⁷ And as for both the kings, their hearts are set upon evil, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper; for yet the end is for a fixed time. ²⁸ And he shall return to his land with much substance; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall perform great deeds, and return to his own land. ²⁹ At the set time he shall return, and shall come into the south, but the last expedition shall not be as the first. ³⁰ For the Cyprians issuing forth shall come against him, and he shall be brought low, and shall return, and shall be incensed against the holy covenant: and he shall do thus, and shall return, and have intelligence with them that have forsaken the holy covenant. ³¹ And seeds shall spring up out of him, and they shall profane the sanctuary of strength, and they shall remove the perpetual sacrifice, and make the abomination of desolation. ³² And the transgressors shall bring about a covenant by deceitful ways; but a people knowing their God shall prevail, and do valiantly. ³³ And the intelligent of the people shall understand much; yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, and by captivity, and by the spoil of many days. ³⁴ And when they are weak they shall be helped with a little help, but many shall attach themselves to them with treachery. ³⁵ And some of them that understand shall fall, to try them as with fire, and to test them, and that they may be manifested at the time of the end, for the matter is yet for an appointed time. ³⁶ And he shall do according to his will, and the king shall exalt and magnify himself against every god, and shall speak great swelling words, and shall prosper until the indignation shall be accomplished; for it is coming to an end. ³⁷ And he shall not regard any gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, neither shall he regard any deity: for he shall magnify himself above all. ³⁸ And he shall honor the god of fortresses in his place: and a god whom his fathers knew not he shall honor with gold, and silver, and precious stones, and desirable things. ³⁹ And he shall do thus in the strong places of refuge with a strange god, and shall increase his glory; and he shall subject many to them, and shall distribute the land in gifts. ⁴⁰ And at the end of the time he shall conflict with the king of the south. And the king of the north shall come against him with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and they shall enter into the land, and he shall break in pieces, and pass on. ⁴¹ And he shall enter into the land of beauty, and many shall fail. But these shall escape out of his hand, Edom, Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. ⁴² And he shall stretch forth his hand over the land; and the land of Egypt shall not escape. ⁴³ And he shall have the mastery over the secret treasures of gold and silver, and over all the desirable possessions of Egypt, and of the Libyans and Ethiopians in their strongholds. ⁴⁴ But rumors and anxieties out of the east and from the north shall trouble him; and he shall come with great wrath to destroy many. ⁴⁵ And he shall pitch the tabernacle of his palace between the seas in the holy mountain of beauty; but he shall come to his portion, and there is none to deliver him.

³¹ And Darius the Mede succeeded to the kingdom, being sixty-two years old.

¹ In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who reigned over the kingdom of the Chaldeans,

¹⁸ And there touched me again as it were the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

²² strengthening the souls of the disciples, urging them to continue in the faith, saying, "Through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God."

⁵ and continued hiring people against them, plotting to frustrate their counsel, all the days of Cyrus king of the Persians, and until the reign of Darius king of the Persians. ⁶ And in the reign of Ahasuerus, even in the beginning of his reign, they wrote a letter against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.

⁶ Therefore pride has possessed them; they have clothed themselves with their injustice and ungodliness. ⁷ Their injustice shall go forth as out of fatness; they have fulfilled their intention.

²¹ I therefore teach you truth, and knowledge good to hear, that you may answer words of truth to them that question you.

⁵ And behold, the second beast was like a bear, and it supported itself on one side, and there were three ribs in its mouth, between its teeth. And thus they said to it, Arise, devour much flesh.

⁴ And I saw the ram butting westward, northward, and southward; and no beast could stand before him, and there was none that could deliver out of his hand; and he did according to his will, and became great.

²⁶ And the vision of the evening and morning that was mentioned is true: seal up the vision; for it is for many days.

¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of the Persians a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, and great power and understanding in the vision was given to him.

²⁰ And he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the prince of the Persians: and I was going in, and the prince of the Greeks came. ²¹ But I will tell you that which is ordained in the scripture of truth; and there is no one that holds with me in these matters but Michael your prince.

²⁵ And his strength and his heart shall be stirred up against the king of the south with a great force; and the king of the south shall engage in war with a great and very strong force; but his forces shall not stand, for they shall devise plans against him.

⁷ For the Lord God will do nothing without revealing instruction to His servants the prophets.

³⁵ If He called those gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),

³⁷ Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." ³⁸ Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?" And having said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, "I find no fault in Him.

⁵ Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."

³⁵ All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and He does according to His will in the host of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and there is none who shall withstand His power, and say to Him, What have You done?

¹⁹ And by reason of the majesty which He gave to him, all nations, tribes, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished, he exalted; and whomever he wished, he abased.

⁶ After this one I looked, and behold, another wild beast as a leopard, and it had four wings of a bird upon it. And the wild beast had four heads, and power was given to it.

⁴ And I saw the ram butting westward, northward, and southward; and no beast could stand before him, and there was none that could deliver out of his hand; and he did according to his will, and became great. ⁵ And as I was considering the ram, behold, a male goat came from the southwest on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the earth: and the goat had a horn between his eyes. ⁶ And he came to the ram that had the two horns, which I had seen standing in front of the Ulai, and he ran at him with the violence of his strength. ⁷ And I saw him coming up close to the ram, and he was exceedingly enraged against him, and he attacked the ram, and broke both his horns: and there was no strength in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him on the ground, and trampled on him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. ⁸ And the male goat grew exceedingly great. And when he was strong, his great horn was broken; and four other horns rose up in its place toward the four winds of heaven. ⁹ And out of one of them came forth one strong horn, and it grew very great toward the south, and toward the host. ¹⁰ And it magnified itself to the host of heaven; and there fell to the earth some of the host of heaven and of the stars, and they trampled on them. ¹¹ And this shall be until the Chief Captain has delivered the captivity: and by reason of the horn the sacrifice was disturbed, and he prospered; and the holy place shall be made desolate. ¹² And a sin offering was given for the sacrifice, and righteousness was cast down to the ground; and he did all this, and prospered. ¹³ And I heard one saint speaking, and a saint said to a certain one speaking, How long shall the vision continue, even the removal of the sacrifice, and the bringing in of the sin of desolation; and how long shall the sanctuary and host be trampled? ¹⁴ And he said to him, Evening and morning there shall be two thousand three hundred days; and then the sanctuary shall be cleansed.

²¹ The male goat is the king of the Greeks: and the great horn which was between his eyes, he is the first king.

¹⁶ And he that comes in against him shall do according to his will, and there is no one to stand before him; and he shall stand in the land of beauty, and it shall be consumed by his hand.

³⁶ And he shall do according to his will, and the king shall exalt and magnify himself against every god, and shall speak great swelling words, and shall prosper until the indignation shall be accomplished; for it is coming to an end.

¹¹ In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

⁴ God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

¹⁸ Exercising His will He begat us by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

⁵ But the mirth of the ungodly is a signal downfall, and the joy of transgressors is destruction: ⁶ although his gifts should go up to heaven, and his sacrifice reach the clouds. ⁷ For when he shall seem to be established, then he shall utterly perish, and those that knew him shall say, Where is he?

³⁵ I saw the ungodly very highly exalting himself, and lifting himself up like the cedars of Lebanon. ³⁶ Yet I passed by, and lo! He was not; and I sought him, but his place was not found.

⁶ Surely man walks in a shadow; nay, he is disquieted in vain; he lays up treasures, and knows not for whom he shall gather them.

⁶ They that trust in their strength, and boast themselves in the multitude of their wealth — ⁷ a brother does not redeem, shall a man redeem? He shall not give to God a ransom for himself, ⁸ or the price for the redemption of his soul, though he labor forever, ⁹ and live to the end, so that he should not see corruption. ¹⁰ When he shall see wise men dying, the fool and the senseless one shall perish together; and they shall leave their wealth to strangers. ¹¹ And their tombs are their houses forever, even their tabernacles to all generations; they have called their lands after their own names. ¹² And man being in honor, understands not; he is compared to the senseless cattle, and is likened unto them.

¹⁷ until I go into the sanctuary of God, and so understand the latter end. ¹⁸ Surely You have appointed judgments to them because of their crafty dealings; You have cast them down when they were lifted up. ¹⁹ How have they become desolate! Suddenly they have failed; they have perished because of their iniquity. ²⁰ As the dream of one awakening, O Lord, in Your city You will despise their image.

¹⁸ And I hated all of my labor which I had toiled under the sun, because I must leave it to the man who will come after me. ¹⁹ And who knows whether he will be wise, or a fool? And whether he will have power over all my labor in which I labored, and in which I grew wise under the sun? This is also vanity.

⁸ There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he has neither son nor brother: yet there is no end to all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with wealth. And for whom do I labor, and deprive my soul of good? This is also vanity, and an evil trouble.

¹⁵ And it shall come to pass, after I have cast them out, that I will return and have mercy upon them, and will cause them to dwell everyone in his inheritance, and everyone in his land.

¹⁷ But if they will not return, then will I cut off that nation with utter ruin and destruction.

⁷ If I shall pronounce a decree upon a nation, or upon a kingdom, to cut them off, and to destroy them;

⁴⁰ And all the Asaremoth, even to the Brook Kidron, as far as the corner of the Horse Gate eastward, shall be holiness to the Lord; and it shall not fail anymore, and shall not be destroyed forever.

⁴ Thus you shall say to him, Thus says the Lord: Behold, I pull down those whom I have built up, and I pluck up those whom I have planted.

² I, Daniel, beheld, and lo, the four winds of heaven blew violently upon the great sea.

⁸ I noticed his horns, and behold, another one came up in the midst of them, a little horn, and before it three of the former horns were rooted out. And behold, there were eyes as the eyes of a man in this horn, and a mouth speaking great things.

⁸ And the male goat grew exceedingly great. And when he was strong, his great horn was broken; and four other horns rose up in its place toward the four winds of heaven.

²² And as for the one that was broken, in whose place there stood up four horns, four kings shall arise out of his nation, but not in their own strength.

²⁵ But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said to them: "Every kingdom being divided against itself is made desolate, and every city or house being divided against itself shall not stand.

²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have prepared?'

¹⁵ Have you removed light from the ungodly, and crushed the arm of the proud?

⁵ His ways are profane at all times; Your judgments are removed from before him: he will gain the mastery over all his enemies.

²¹ Son of man, I have broken the arms of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and behold, it has not been bound up to be healed, to have a plaster put upon it, or to be strengthened to lay hold of the sword.

⁸ He shall be prepared after many days, and he shall come at the end of years, and shall come to a land that is brought back from the sword, when the people have been gathered from many nations against the land of Israel, which was entirely desolate; and he has come forth out of the nations, and they shall all dwell securely. ⁹ And you shall go up as rain, and shall arrive as a cloud to cover the land, and there shall be you, and all that are about you, and many nations with you.

⁷ But out of the flower of her root there shall arise one in his place, and shall come against the host, and shall enter into the strongholds of the king of the north, and shall fight against them, and prevail.

¹³ For the king of the north shall return, and bring a multitude greater than the former, and at the end of the times of years an invading army shall come with a great force, and with much substance.

¹⁵ And the king of the north shall come in, and cast up a mound, and take strong cities; and the arms of the king of the south shall withstand, and his chosen ones shall rise up, but there shall be no strength to stand. ¹⁶ For behold, I will raise up a shepherd against the land: he shall not visit that which is perishing, and he shall not seek that which is scattered, and he shall not heal that which is bruised, nor guide that which is whole: but he shall devour the flesh of the choice ones, and shall dislocate the joints of their necks.

⁷ For there is hope for a tree, even if it should be cut down, that it shall blossom again, and its branch shall not fail.

¹⁰ When he shall see wise men dying, the fool and the senseless one shall perish together; and they shall leave their wealth to strangers. ¹¹ And their tombs are their houses forever, even their tabernacles to all generations; they have called their lands after their own names. ¹² And man being in honor, understands not; he is compared to the senseless cattle, and is likened unto them. ¹³ This their way is an offense to them; yet afterwards men will commend their sayings. Pause.

²³ But You, O God, shall bring them down to the pit of destruction; bloody and crafty men shall not live out half their days; but I will hope in You, O Lord.

⁸ Let his days be few; and let another take his office of overseer.

¹⁴ So the Lord took away from Israel the head and tail, great and small, in one day;

¹ And there shall come forth a Rod out of the root of Jesse, and a blossom shall come up from his root;

² You have planted them, and they have taken root; they have begotten children, and become fruitful; You are near to their mouth, but far from their mind.

¹⁸ Whereas he has profaned the oath so as to break the covenant, when behold, I engage his hand, and he has done all these things to him, he shall not escape.

¹⁹ Then he shall turn back his face to the strength of his own land, but he shall become weak, and fall, and not be found. ²⁰ And there shall arise out of his root one that shall cause a plant of the kingdom to pass over his place, earning kingly glory, and yet in those days shall he be broken, yet not openly, nor in war.

¹ For behold, a day comes burning as an oven, and it shall consume them; and all the aliens, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that is coming shall set them on fire, says the Lord Almighty, and there shall not be left of them root or branch.

³⁰ Now then go on your way, for you have earnestly desired to depart to the house of your father; but why have you stolen my gods?

¹² And I will go throughout the land of Egypt in that night, and I will smite every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and on all the gods of Egypt will I execute vengeance: I am the Lord.

⁴ And the Egyptians buried those that died of them, even all that the Lord struck, every firstborn in the land of Egypt; also the Lord executed vengeance on their gods.

³ And you shall destroy their altars, and break in pieces their pillars, and you shall cut down their groves, and you shall burn with fire the graven images of their gods, and you shall abolish their name out of that place.

²⁴ And Micah said, Because you have taken my graven image which I made, and my priest, and have gone; and what have I remaining? And what is this that you say to me, Why do you cry?

¹⁶ and upon every ship of the sea, and upon every display of fine ships.

¹⁹ and have cast their idols into the fire; for they were not gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; and they have cast them away.

¹ Bel has fallen, Nebo is broken to pieces, their graven images have gone to the wild beasts and the cattle; you take them packed up as a burden to the weary, exhausted, hungry, and at the same time helpless man; ² who will not be able to save themselves from war, but they themselves are led away captive.

¹² And he shall kindle a fire in the houses of their gods, and shall burn them, and shall carry them away captives; and shall search the land of Egypt, as a shepherd searches his garment; and he shall go forth in peace. ¹³ And he shall break to pieces the pillars of Heliopolis that are in On, and shall burn their houses with fire.

²⁵ Behold, I will avenge Ammon her son upon Pharaoh, and upon them that trust in him.

² And the Lord gave into his hand Jehoiakim king of Judah, and part of the vessels of the house of God: and he brought them into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god. ³ And the king told Ashpenaz his chief eunuch, to bring in some of the captive children of Israel, and of the seed of the kingdom, and of the princes;

³ I ate no pleasant bread, and no flesh or wine entered into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself with oil, until three whole weeks were accomplished.

⁶ Seeing the workman made it, and it is not God; for your calf, O Samaria, was a deceiver.

⁵ The inhabitants of Samaria shall dwell near the calf of the house of On; for the people of it mourned for it. And as they provoked Him, they shall rejoice at His glory, because He has departed from them. ⁶ And having bound it for the Assyrians, they carried it away as presents to King Jareb. Ephraim shall receive a gift, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

¹⁵ Though he will cause a division among his brothers, the Lord shall bring upon him an east wind from the desert, and shall dry up his veins and quite drain his fountains. He shall dry up his land, and spoil all his precious vessels.

⁷ therefore behold, the Lord shall bring upon you the water of the river, strong and abundant, even the king of the Assyrians, and his glory; and he shall come up over every valley of yours, and shall walk over every wall of yours; ⁸ and he shall take away from Judah every man who shall be able to lift up his head, and everyone able to accomplish anything; and his camp shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

¹² And He shall bring down the height of the refuge of the wall, and it shall come down, even to the ground.

⁷ Who is this that shall come up as a river, and as rivers roll their waves? ⁸ The waters of Egypt shall come up like a river. And he said, I will go up, and will cover the earth, and will destroy its inhabitants.

⁴² The sea has come up upon Babylon with the sound of its waves, and she is covered.

²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks, the Anointed One shall be killed, and there is no judgment in Him. And He shall destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is to come: they shall be cut off with a flood, and to the end of the war which is rapidly completed He shall appoint the city to desolations.

¹³ And behold, a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel, and said, Thus says the Lord: Have you seen this great multitude? Behold, I give it this day into your hands, and you shall know that I am the Lord.

²⁸ Then the man of God came, and said to the king of Israel, Thus says the Lord: Because Syria has said, The Lord God of Israel is a God of the hills, and He is not a God of the valleys, therefore will I give this great army into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.

¹⁶ A king is not saved by reason of a great host; and a giant shall not be delivered by the greatness of his strength. ¹⁷ A horse is vain for safety; neither shall he be delivered by the greatness of his power.

¹⁰ For the inward thought of man shall give thanks to You, and the memorial of his inward thought shall keep a feast to You.

¹¹ I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor yet bread to the wise, nor yet wealth to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of knowledge; for time and chance will happen to them all. ¹² For surely man also knows not his time; as fish that are taken in an evil net, and as birds that are caught in a snare, even thus the sons of men are snared at an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.

⁶ I have given the earth to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to serve him, and the wild beasts of the field to labor for him.

³⁸ in every place where the children of men dwell: and He has given into your hand the wild beasts of the field, and the birds of the sky and the fish of the sea, and He has made you ruler over them all.

⁷ And I saw him coming up close to the ram, and he was exceedingly enraged against him, and he attacked the ram, and broke both his horns: and there was no strength in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him on the ground, and trampled on him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

⁵ And the king of the south shall be strong; and one of their princes shall prevail against him, and shall obtain a great dominion.

⁹ And he shall enter into the kingdom of the king of the south, and shall return to his own land. ¹⁰ And his sons shall gather a multitude among many. And one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through, and he shall rest, and collect his strength.

⁴⁴ But rumors and anxieties out of the east and from the north shall trouble him; and he shall come with great wrath to destroy many.

¹⁴ that you should be exalted in your heart, and forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;

¹⁰ You have attacked and wounded Edom, and your heart has lifted you up: stay at home and glorify yourself; for why are you quarrelsome to your hurt? So both you and Judah with you will fall.

¹⁹ You have said, Behold, I have defeated Edom, and your stout heart exalts you. Now stay at home; for why do you implicate yourself in mischief, that you should fall, and Judah with you?

¹⁶ And when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction; and he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.

²⁵ But Hezekiah did not recompense the Lord according to the favor shown him, but his heart was lifted up. And wrath came upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

⁷ But he does not mean so, neither did he devise thus in his heart; but his mind shall change, and that to destroy nations not a few. ⁸ And if they should say to him, You alone are ruler; ⁹ then shall he say, Have I not taken the country above Babylon and Chalanes, where the tower was built? And have I not taken Arabia, and Damascus, and Samaria? ¹⁰ As I have taken them, I will also take all the kingdoms; howl, you idols in Jerusalem, and in Samaria. ¹¹ For as I did to Samaria and her idols, so will I also do to Jerusalem and her idols. ¹² And it shall come to pass, when the Lord has finished doing all things on Mount Zion and Jerusalem, that I will visit upon the proud heart, even upon the ruler of the Assyrians, and upon the boastful haughtiness of his eyes.

² And you, son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord: Because your heart has been exalted, and you have said, I am God, I have inhabited the dwelling of God in the heart of the sea; yet you are a man and not God, though you have set your heart as the heart of God.

⁵ By your abundant knowledge and your traffic you have multiplied your power; your heart has been lifted up by your power.

¹⁷ Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; your knowledge has been corrupted by your beauty: because of the multitude of your sins I have cast you to the ground, I have caused you to be put to open shame before kings.

¹⁹ And by reason of the majesty which He gave to him, all nations, tribes, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished, he exalted; and whomever he wished, he abased. ²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was emboldened to act proudly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his honor was taken from him.

²³ And you have exalted yourself against the Lord God of heaven; and they have brought before you the vessels of His house, and you, your nobles, your mistresses, and your concubines have drunk wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of gold, silver, brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, and which hear not, and know not: and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

²⁵ And the yoke of his chain shall prosper: there is underhanded treachery in his hand, and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by deceit he shall destroy many, and shall stand up for the destruction of many, and shall crush them like eggs in his hand.

⁴ If he should draw back, My soul has no pleasure in him: but the just shall live by My faith. ⁵ But the arrogant man and the scorner, the boastful man, shall not finish anything; who has enlarged his desire as the grave, and like death he is never satisfied, and he will gather to himself all the nations, and will receive to himself all the peoples. ⁶ Shall not all these take up a parable against him? And a proverb to tell against him? And they shall say, Woe to him that multiplies to himself the possessions which are not his! How long? And who heavily loads his yoke.

²² And the populace was calling out, "This is the voice of a god and not of a man!" ²³ Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And becoming eaten by worms, he died.

⁶ not a new convert, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.

⁵ Likewise, younger people, subject yourselves to the elders. And all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, because "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

¹⁶ His heart shall be changed from that of a man, and the heart of a wild beast shall be given to him; and seven times shall pass over him.

⁶ And after his years they shall associate; and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north, to make agreements with him, but she shall not retain power of arm; neither shall his seed stand: and she shall be delivered up, and they that brought her, and the maiden, and he that strengthened her in these times. ⁷ But out of the flower of her root there shall arise one in his place, and shall come against the host, and shall enter into the strongholds of the king of the north, and shall fight against them, and prevail.

⁷ And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was over the water of the river, and he lifted up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him that lives forever, that it should be for a time, times and half a time. When the dispersion is ended, they shall know all these things.

²⁵ who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: 'Why did the nations rage, and the people conspired vain things? ²⁶ The kings of the earth took their stand, and the rulers were assembled together against the LORD and against His Christ.' ²⁷ "For truly they were assembled against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, ²⁸ to do all that Your hand and Your counsel foreordained to come to pass.

¹⁷ For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the Beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.

⁵ Not a man shall stand against you all the days of your life; and as I was with Moses, so will I also be with you, and I will not fail you, or neglect you.

³⁰ There is no wisdom, there is no courage, there is no counsel against the ungodly. ³¹ A horse is prepared for the day of battle, but help is of the Lord.

¹⁰ Go up upon her battlements, and break them down; but make not a full end: leave her buttresses; for they are the Lord's.

⁶ For thus says the Lord, Cut down her trees, array a numerous force against Jerusalem. O false city, she is full of oppression.

⁴ For thus says the Lord concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the king of Judah, which have been pulled down for mounds and fortifications,

⁴ And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the ninth month, on the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzr king of Babylon came, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and they made a rampart round it, and built a wall round about it with large stones.

² And you shall besiege it, and build works against it, and throw up a mound round about it, and pitch camps against it, and set up engines round about.

¹⁷ And Pharaoh shall make war upon him not with a large force or great multitude, in throwing up a mound, and in building of forts, to cut off souls.

⁶ And after his years they shall associate; and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north, to make agreements with him, but she shall not retain power of arm; neither shall his seed stand: and she shall be delivered up, and they that brought her, and the maiden, and he that strengthened her in these times.

⁸ and he shall take away from Judah every man who shall be able to lift up his head, and everyone able to accomplish anything; and his camp shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

¹⁹ And I said, So be it, Lord, for You said I will set you among children, and will give you a choice land, the inheritance of the Almighty God of the Gentiles. And I said, You shall call me Father; and you shall not turn away from Me.

⁹ And out of one of them came forth one strong horn, and it grew very great toward the south, and toward the host.

³ And there shall rise up a mighty king, and he shall be lord of a great empire, and shall do according to his will.

⁴¹ And he shall enter into the land of beauty, and many shall fail. But these shall escape out of his hand, Edom, Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

⁴⁵ And he shall pitch the tabernacle of his palace between the seas in the holy mountain of beauty; but he shall come to his portion, and there is none to deliver him.

¹⁷ Then went up Hazael king of Syria, and fought against Gath, and took it. And Hazael set his face to go against Jerusalem.

³ And Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set his face to seek the Lord earnestly, and he proclaimed a fast in all Judah.

⁹ My enemies shall be turned back, in the day that I shall call upon You; behold, I know that You are my God.

²¹ There are many thoughts in a man's heart, but the counsel of the Lord abides forever.

³ And take to yourself an iron pan, and you shall set it for an iron wall between you and the city. And you shall set your face against it, and it shall be in a siege, and you shall besiege it. This is a sign to the children of Israel.

⁷ So you shall set your face to the siege of Jerusalem, and shall strengthen your arm, and shall prophesy against it.

² Son of man, set your face steadfastly against the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them;

¹⁹ Then he shall turn back his face to the strength of his own land, but he shall become weak, and fall, and not be found.

³⁰ He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

⁵¹ Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem,

²³ He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

⁴ And the sons of Jovan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. ⁵ From these were the islands of the Gentiles divided in their land, each according to his tongue, in their tribes and in their nations.

⁷ And Adoni-Bezek said, Seventy kings, having their thumbs and their big toes cut off, gathered their food under my table: as I therefore have done, so God has recompensed me: and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

¹⁹ And I will leave a sign upon them, and I will send forth them that have escaped of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, Lud, Mosoch, and to Tubal, and to Greece, and to the isles afar off, to those who have not heard of My name, nor seen My glory; and they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles.

¹⁰ For go to the isles of Kittim, and see; and send to Kedar, and observe accurately, and see if such things have been done;

¹⁰ Hear the words of the Lord, you nations, and proclaim them to the islands afar off. Say, He that scattered Israel will also gather him, and keep him as one that feeds his flock.

⁶ They made your oars of wood out of the land of Bashan; your sacred utensils they made of ivory, your shady houses of wood from the isles of Kittim.

¹⁴ Ephraim was angry and excited, therefore his blood shall be poured out upon him, and the Lord shall recompense to him his reproach.

¹¹ The Lord shall appear against them, and shall utterly destroy all the gods of the nations of the earth; and they shall worship Him everyone from his place, even all the islands of the nations.

² For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with what measure you measure, it will be measured back to you.

⁸ Like a dream that has fled away, he shall not be found; and he has fled like a vision of the night.

² When evildoers drew near against me to eat up my flesh, my persecutors and my enemies, they fainted and fell.

³⁶ Yet I passed by, and lo! He was not; and I sought him, but his place was not found.

⁶ Let not the swift flee, and let not the mighty man escape to the north. The forces at Euphrates have become feeble, and they have fallen.

²¹ I will make you a terror, and you shall be no more forever, says the Lord God.

² And this is the ordinance of the release: you shall release every private debt which your neighbor owes you, and you shall not ask payment of it from your brother; for it has been called a release to the Lord your God. ³ Of a stranger you shall ask again whatsoever he has of yours, but to your brother you shall release his debt to you.

³⁵ And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he assessed the land to give the money at the command of Pharaoh: they gave the silver and the gold, each man according to his assessment, together with the people of the land to give to Pharaoh Necho.

³³ Churn the milk, and there shall be butter, and if you wring one's nostrils, there shall come out blood: so if you extort words, there will come forth quarrels and strife.

¹⁷ And for brass I will bring you gold, and for iron I will bring you silver, and instead of wood I will bring you brass, and instead of stones, iron; and I will make your princes peaceable, and your overseers righteous.

²¹ One shall stand on his place, who has been set at nought, and they have not put upon him the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in prosperously, and obtain the kingdom by deceitful ways.

¹ And Abimelech son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem, to his mother's brothers; and he spoke to them and to all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying, ² Speak in the ears of all the men of Shechem, saying, Which is better for you, that seventy men, even all the sons of Jerubbaal, should reign over you, or that one man should reign over you? And remember that I am your own flesh and bone. ³ And his mother's brothers spoke concerning him in the ears of all the men of Shechem, all these words; and their heart turned after Abimelech, for they said, He is our brother. ⁴ And they gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the house of Baal-Berith; and Abimelech hired for himself vain and cowardly men, and they went after him. ⁵ And he went to the house of his father to Ephratha, and killed his brothers, the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men upon one stone; but Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself. ⁶ And all the men of Shechem, and all the house of Beth Millo were gathered together, and they went and made Abimelech king by the oak of Sedition, which was at Shechem. ⁷ And it was reported to Jotham, and he went and stood on the top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and wept, and said to them, Hear me, you men of Sicima, and God shall hear you. ⁸ The trees once went forth to anoint a king over them; and they said to the olive, Reign over us. ⁹ But the olives said to them, Shall I leave my fatness, with which men shall glorify God, and go to be promoted over the trees? ¹⁰ And the trees said to the fig tree, Come, reign over us. ¹¹ But the fig tree said to them, Shall I leave my sweetness and my good fruits, and go to be promoted over the trees? ¹² And the trees said to the vine, Come, reign over us. ¹³ And the vine said to them, Shall I leave my wine that cheers God and men, and go to be promoted over the trees? ¹⁴ Then all the trees said to the bramble, Come, and reign over us. ¹⁵ And the bramble said to the trees, If in truth you anoint me to reign over you, come, stand under my shadow; and if not, let fire come out from me and devour the cedars of Lebanon. ¹⁶ And now, if you have done it in truth and integrity, and have made Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerubbaal, and with his house, and if you have done to him according to the reward of his hand, ¹⁷ as my father fought for you, and put his life in jeopardy, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian; ¹⁸ and you have risen up this day against the house of my father, and have slain his sons, being seventy men, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech the son of his bondwoman king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother: ¹⁹ if then you have done truly and faithfully with Jerubbaal, and with his house this day, then rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice over you. ²⁰ But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Beth Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem and from the house of Beth Millo, and devour Abimelech.

¹³ And I have told him that I will be avenged on his house perpetually for the iniquities of his sons, because his sons spoke evil against God, and he did not admonish them.

² And Absalom rose early, and stood by the side of the way of the gate. And it came to pass that every man who had a cause came to the king for judgment. And Absalom cried to him, and said to him, Of what city are you? And he said, Your servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. ³ And Absalom said to him, See, your affairs are right and clear, yet you have no one appointed of the king to hear you. ⁴ And Absalom said, O that one would make me a judge in the land; then every man who had a dispute or a cause would come to me, and I would judge him! ⁵ And it came to pass that when a man came near to bow down to him, that he stretched out his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him. ⁶ And Absalom did after this manner to all Israel that came to the king for judgment; and Absalom gained the hearts of the men of Israel.

⁸ The ungodly walk around; according to Your greatness You have greatly exalted the sons of men.

⁴ In his sight an evil worker is set at nought, but he honors them that fear the Lord. He swears to his neighbor, and disappoints him not.

²¹ They were scattered at the anger of His countenance, and his heart drew near to them. His words were smoother than oil, yet they are darts.

⁵ And they shall no longer tell a fool to rule, and your servants shall no longer say, Be silent.

²³ And at the latter time of their kingdom, when their sins are coming to the full, there shall arise a king of fierce countenance, who understands riddles;

²⁰ And there shall arise out of his root one that shall cause a plant of the kingdom to pass over his place, earning kingly glory, and yet in those days shall he be broken, yet not openly, nor in war.

³² And the transgressors shall bring about a covenant by deceitful ways; but a people knowing their God shall prevail, and do valiantly.

³⁴ And when they are weak they shall be helped with a little help, but many shall attach themselves to them with treachery.

¹⁴ And the Lord shall give a command concerning you; your name shall be fruitful no longer: I will utterly destroy the graven images out of the house of your god, and the molten images: I will make your grave; for they are swift.

¹⁰ And it magnified itself to the host of heaven; and there fell to the earth some of the host of heaven and of the stars, and they trampled on them. ¹¹ And this shall be until the Chief Captain has delivered the captivity: and by reason of the horn the sacrifice was disturbed, and he prospered; and the holy place shall be made desolate.

¹⁰ And his sons shall gather a multitude among many. And one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through, and he shall rest, and collect his strength.

⁸ And shall not the land be troubled for these things, and shall not everyone who dwells in it mourn? Whereas destruction shall come up as a river, and shall descend as the river of Egypt.

⁵ And the Lord, the Lord God Almighty, is He that takes hold of the land, and causes it to shake, and all that inhabit it shall mourn; and its destruction shall go up as a river, and shall descend as the river of Egypt.

⁸ But with an overrunning flood He will make an utter end: darkness shall pursue those that rise up against Him and His enemies.

¹⁵ And the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a river after the woman, so that he might cause her to be carried off by the river. ¹⁶ But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon had cast out of his mouth.

¹³ And the sons of Jacob answered to Shechem and Hamor his father craftily, and spoke to them, because they had defiled Dinah their sister.

² your tongue has devised unrighteousness; like a sharpened razor you have worked deceit.

¹⁸ An ungodly man performs unrighteous works, but the seed of the righteous is a reward of truth.

¹³ And he shall take of the royal seed, and shall make a covenant with him, and shall bind him with an oath; and he shall take the princes of the land, ¹⁴ that it may become a weak kingdom, so as never to lift itself up, that he may keep his covenant, and establish it. ¹⁵ And if he shall revolt from him, to send his messengers into Egypt, that they may give him horses and much people; shall he prosper? Shall he that acts as an adversary be preserved? And shall he that transgresses the covenant be preserved? ¹⁶ As I live, says the Lord, verily in the place where the king is that made him king, who dishonored My oath, and who broke My covenant, shall he die with him in the midst of Babylon. ¹⁷ And Pharaoh shall make war upon him not with a large force or great multitude, in throwing up a mound, and in building of forts, to cut off souls. ¹⁸ Whereas he has profaned the oath so as to break the covenant, when behold, I engage his hand, and he has done all these things to him, he shall not escape. ¹⁹ Therefore say, Thus says the Lord: As I live, surely My oath which he has profaned, and My covenant which he has transgressed, I will even recompense it upon his head.

²⁹ having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, greed, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness; they are whisperers,

³ But I fear, lest perhaps as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

⁹ whose coming is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,

⁴ And they gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the house of Baal-Berith; and Abimelech hired for himself vain and cowardly men, and they went after him.

²⁵ And they took lofty cities, and inherited houses full of all good things, wells already dug, vineyards and olive yards, and every fruit tree in abundance. So they ate, and were filled, and grew fat, and delighted themselves in Your great goodness.

⁸ Instruction is to them that use it a gracious reward; and wherever it may turn, it shall prosper.

⁶ Many court the favor of kings, but every bad man becomes a reproach to another man.

⁷ so he eats and drinks as if anyone should swallow a hair, and do not bring him in to yourself, nor eat your morsel with him;

¹⁰ Thus says the Lord God: It shall also come to pass in that day, that thoughts shall rise up into your heart, and you shall devise an evil plan.

²⁵ And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change times and law. And power shall be given into his hand for a time, times and half a time.

⁴ But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?

¹⁸ A passionate man stirs up strife; but he that is slow to anger appeases even a rising one. ^(15:18A) A man slow to anger will extinguish quarrels, but an ungodly man rather stirs them up.

²⁵ An unbelieving man judges rashly, but he that trusts in the Lord will act carefully.

² And now I will tell you the truth. Behold, there shall yet rise up three kings in Persia: and the fourth shall be far more richer than all. And after that he is master of his wealth, he shall rise up against all the kingdoms of the Greeks.

² And Ishbosheth the son of Saul had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, sons of Rimmon the Berothite of the children of Benjamin; for Beeroth was reckoned to the children of Benjamin. ³ And the Berothites ran away to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day. ⁴ And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son lame of his feet, five years old, and he was in the way when the news of Saul and Jonathan his son came from Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled. And it came to pass as he made haste and retreated, that he fell, and was crippled. And his name was Mephibosheth. ⁵ And Rechab and Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Berothite set out, and they came in the heat of the day into the house of Ishbosheth; and he was sleeping on a bed at noon. ⁶ And behold, the porter of the house winnowed wheat, and he slumbered and slept. And the brothers Rechab and Baanah went secretly into the house. ⁷ And Ishbosheth was sleeping on his bed in his chamber. And they struck him, and killed him, and took off his head. And they took his head, and went all the night by the western road. ⁸ And they brought the head of Ishbosheth to David at Hebron, and they said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul your enemy, who sought your life; and the Lord has executed vengeance on His enemies for my lord the king, as it is this day: even on Saul your enemy, and on his seed. ⁹ And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Berothite, and said to them, As the Lord lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all affliction; ¹⁰ he that reported to me that Saul was dead, even he was as one bringing glad tidings before me. But I seized him and killed him in Ziklag, to whom I ought, as he thought, to have given a reward or his tidings. ¹¹ And now evil men have slain a righteous men in his house, and on his bed. Now then, I will require his blood from your hand, and I will destroy you from off the earth. ¹² And David commanded his young men, and they killed them, and cut off their hands and their feet; and they hung them up at the fountain in Hebron. And they buried the head of Ishbosheth in the tomb of Abner the son of Ner.

¹⁴ And he departed from Elisha, and went in to his master; and he said to him, What did Elisha say to you? And he said, He said to me, You shall surely live.

⁶ And Jehu wrote them a second letter, saying, If you are for me, and hearken to my voice, take the heads of the men your master's sons, and bring them to me at this time tomorrow in Jezreel. Now the sons of the king were seventy men; these great men of the city brought them up. ⁷ And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons and killed them, all seventy men, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him at Jezreel. ⁸ And a messenger came and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Lay them in two heaps by the door of the gate until morning. ⁹ And morning came, and he went forth and stood, and said to all the people, You are righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and killed him, but who killed all these?

⁹ For even the man of my peace, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, lifted up his heel against me.

⁵ Trust not in friends, and confide not in guides: beware of your wife, so as not to commit anything to her. ⁶ For the son dishonors his father, the daughter will rise up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: those in his house shall be all a man's enemies.

²³ He answered and said, "He who dipped his hand with Me in the bowl will betray Me.

²⁰ But answering He said to them, "It is one of the twelve, the one dipping with Me in the bowl.

¹⁸ I do not speak concerning all of you. I know those whom I chose; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, 'He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.'

²⁶ And Absalom said to him, And if not, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said to him, Why should he go with you?

² Everyone has spoken vanity to his neighbor: their lips are deceitful, they have spoken with a double heart.

¹ For the end, A Psalm of instruction by David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, David has gone to the house of Abimelech. Why do you, O mighty man, boast of iniquity in your mischief? All the day

² For you work iniquities in your hearts in the earth; your hands plot unrighteousness.

⁹ But the sons of men are vain; the sons of men are false, so as to be deceitful in the balances; they are all alike, formed out of vanity.

⁶ They have searched out iniquity; they have wearied themselves with searching diligently, a man shall approach and the heart is deep,

²⁰ There is deceit in the heart of him that imagines evil, but they that love peace shall rejoice.

⁶ Eat not with an envious man, neither desire his meats; ⁷ so he eats and drinks as if anyone should swallow a hair, and do not bring him in to yourself, nor eat your morsel with him; ⁸ for he will vomit it up, and spoil your fair words.

²³ Silver dishonestly given is to be considered as a potsherd; smooth lips cover a grievous heart.

³ And they have bent their tongue like a bow; falsehood and not faithfulness has prevailed upon the earth; for they have gone on from evil to evil, and have not known Me, says the Lord. ⁴ Beware, each of his neighbor, and trust not in your brother, for everyone will surely supplant, and every friend will walk craftily. ⁵ Everyone will mock his friend; they will not speak truth; their tongue has learned to speak falsehoods; they have committed iniquity, they ceased not, so as to return.

¹ Now it came to pass in the seventh month that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama of the royal family came, and ten men with him, to Gedaliah to Mizpah. And they ate bread there together. ² And Ishmael rose up, and the ten men that were with him, and killed Gedaliah, whom the king of Babylon had appointed governor over the land, ³ and all the Jews that were with him in Mizpah, and all the Chaldeans that were found there.

⁹ Therefore say, Thus says the Lord: Shall it prosper? Shall not the roots of its tender stem and its fruit be blighted? Yea, all its early shoots shall be dried up, and that not by a mighty arm, nor by many people, to tear it up from its roots.

¹⁹ And he said, Behold, I will make known to you the things that shall come to pass at the end of the wrath: for the vision is yet for an appointed time.

²⁹ At the set time he shall return, and shall come into the south, but the last expedition shall not be as the first.

³⁵ And some of them that understand shall fall, to try them as with fire, and to test them, and that they may be manifested at the time of the end, for the matter is yet for an appointed time.

³ For the vision is yet for a time, and it shall shoot forth at the end, and not in vain: though he should tarry, wait for him; for he will surely come, and will not tarry.

⁷ And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has placed in His own authority.

³¹ because He has appointed a day in which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He appointed, having given proof to all, by raising Him from the dead."

¹ But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that I should write to you.

²⁴ and his power shall be great, and he shall destroy fearfully, and shall prosper and thrive, and shall destroy the mighty men, and the holy people.

³⁰ For the Cyprians issuing forth shall come against him, and he shall be brought low, and shall return, and shall be incensed against the holy covenant: and he shall do thus, and shall return, and have intelligence with them that have forsaken the holy covenant. ³¹ And seeds shall spring up out of him, and they shall profane the sanctuary of strength, and they shall remove the perpetual sacrifice, and make the abomination of desolation. ³² And the transgressors shall bring about a covenant by deceitful ways; but a people knowing their God shall prevail, and do valiantly.

²⁵ You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.'

³¹ Howl, you gates of cities; let the cities be troubled and cry, even all the Philistines; for smoke is coming from the north, and there is no possibility of living.

²³ And because of the leagues made with him he shall work deceit; and he shall come up, and overpower them with a small nation.

²⁶ And He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell upon all the face of the earth, and He ordained their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,

² but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.

⁴ And the sons of Jovan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

²⁴ And one shall come forth from the hands of the Cyprians, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict the Hebrews, and they shall perish together.

⁷ And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshishah, the Kittim, and the Rodanim.

¹² And I observed, and behold, God had not sent him, for the prophecy was a fable devised against me:

¹ The word concerning Tyre. Howl, you ships of Carthage; for she has perished, and men no longer arrive from the land of the Citians; she is led captive.

¹² And men shall say, You shall no longer at all continue to insult and injure the daughter of Sidon; and if you depart to the Citians, neither there shall you have rest.

²⁸ And he shall return to his land with much substance; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall perform great deeds, and return to his own land.

¹⁰ And then many will fall away, and they will betray one another, and they will hate one another.

¹² Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the earth and to the sea! Because the devil was thrown down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time."

¹⁰ ( { ι}) JOD. The oppressor has stretched out his hand on all her desirable things, for she has seen the Gentiles entering into her sanctuary, concerning whom You commanded that they should not enter into Your congregation.

⁷ ( { ζ}) ZAIN. The Lord has rejected His altar, He has cast off His sanctuary, He has broken by the hand of the enemy the wall of her palaces; they have uttered their voice in the house of the Lord as on a feast day.

²⁰ As for their choice ornaments, they employed them for pride, and they made of them images of their abominations; therefore have I made them uncleanness to them. ²¹ And I will deliver them into the hands of strangers to make them a prey, and to the pests of the earth for a spoil; and they shall profane them.

⁷ And He said to them, Defile the house, and go out and fill the ways with dead bodies, and strike.

²¹ Say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will profane My sanctuary, the boast of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and for which your souls are concerned; and your sons and your daughters, whom you have left, shall fall by the sword. ²² And you shall do as I have done: you shall not be comforted at their mouth, and you shall not eat the bread of men.

¹¹ And this shall be until the Chief Captain has delivered the captivity: and by reason of the horn the sacrifice was disturbed, and he prospered; and the holy place shall be made desolate. ¹² And a sin offering was given for the sacrifice, and righteousness was cast down to the ground; and he did all this, and prospered. ¹³ And I heard one saint speaking, and a saint said to a certain one speaking, How long shall the vision continue, even the removal of the sacrifice, and the bringing in of the sin of desolation; and how long shall the sanctuary and host be trampled?

²⁷ And one week shall establish the covenant with many. And in the midst of the week my sacrifice and drink offering shall be taken away: and on the temple shall be the abomination of desolations; and at the end of the time an end shall be put to the desolation.

¹¹ And from the time of the removal of the perpetual sacrifice, when the abomination of desolation shall be set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

¹⁵ "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),

¹⁴ "So whenever you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where he must not"--he who reads, let him understand--"then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

²⁰ "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has drawn near.

⁴⁰ Watch therefore, lest there come upon you that which was spoken of in the prophets: ⁴¹ "Behold, you despisers, and marvel and perish! For I will work a work in your days which you will by no means believe, though one were to declare it to you.' "

¹² And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings who not yet have received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings for one hour with the Beast.

⁹ And now, my son Solomon, know the God of your fathers, and serve Him with a perfect heart and a willing soul; for the Lord searches all hearts, and knows every thought: if you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you should forsake Him, He will forsake you forever.

¹⁰ And let them that know Your name hope in You — for You, O Lord, have not failed them that diligently seek You.

⁵ A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that accuses unjustly shall not escape.

²⁸ A lying tongue hates the truth, and an unguarded mouth causes tumults.

³⁴ And no more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord. For all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and their sins I will remember no more.

⁷ And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many peoples, as dew falling from the Lord, and as lambs on the grass; that none may assemble nor resist among the sons of men. ⁸ And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many nations, as a lion in the forest among cattle, and as a lion's whelp among the flocks of sheep, even as when he goes through, and selects, and carries off his prey, and there is none to deliver. ⁹ Your hand shall be lifted up against them that afflict you, and all your enemies shall be utterly destroyed.

¹⁵ And according to the days of your departure out of Egypt shall you see marvelous things. ¹⁶ The nations shall see and be ashamed; and at all their might they shall lay their hands upon their mouth, their ears shall be deafened. ¹⁷ They shall lick the dust as serpents crawling on the earth, they shall be confounded in their holes; they shall be amazed at the Lord our God, and will be afraid of you.

¹³ For I have bent you, O Judah, for Myself as a bow, I have filled Ephraim; and I will raise up your children, O Zion, against the children of the Greeks, and I will handle you as the sword of a warrior. ¹⁴ And the Lord shall be over them, and His arrow shall go forth as lightning: and the Lord Almighty shall blow with the trumpet; and shall proceed with the tumult of His threatening. ¹⁵ The Lord Almighty shall protect them, and they shall destroy them, and overwhelm them with slingstones; and they shall swallow them down as wine, and fill the bowls as the altar. ¹⁶ And the Lord their God shall save them in that day, even His people as a flock; for holy stones are rolled upon His land.

³ My anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I will visit the lambs; and the Lord God Almighty shall visit His flock, the house of Judah, and He shall make them as His royal horse in war. ⁴ And from Him he looked, and from Him He set the battle in order, and from Him came the bow in anger, and from Him shall come forth every oppressor together. ⁵ And they shall be as warriors treading clay in the ways in war; and they shall set the battle in array, because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame. ⁶ And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and save the house of Joseph, and I will settle them; because I have loved them: and they shall be as if I had not cast them off: for I am the Lord their God, and I will hear them.

¹² And I will strengthen them in the Lord their God; and they shall boast in His name, says the Lord.

³ And it shall come to pass in that day that I will make Jerusalem a trodden stone to all the nations; everyone that tramples on it shall utterly mock at it, and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered together against it. ⁴ In that day, says the Lord Almighty, I will smite every horse with amazement, and his rider with madness: but I will open My eyes upon the house of Judah, and I will smite all the horses of the nations with blindness. ⁵ And the captains of thousands of Judah shall say in their hearts, We shall find for ourselves the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the Lord Almighty their God. ⁶ In that day I will make the captains of thousands of Judah as a firebrand among wood, and as a torch of fire in stubble; and they shall devour on the right hand and on the left all the nations round about; and Jerusalem shall dwell again by herself, even in Jerusalem. ⁷ And the Lord shall save the tabernacles of Judah as at the beginning, that the boast of the house of David, and the pride of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, may not magnify themselves against Judah.

¹ Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, and your spoils shall be divided in you. ² And I will gather all the Gentiles to Jerusalem to war, and the city shall be taken, and the houses plundered, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, but the rest of My people shall not be utterly cut off from the city. ³ And the Lord shall go forth, and fight with those Gentiles as when He fought in the day of war. ⁴ And His feet shall stand in that day on the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, a very great division; half the mountain shall lean to the north, and half of it to the south.

² But to you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise, and healing shall be in His wings: and you shall go forth, and bound as young calves let loose from bonds.

³ And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

³ But even if our gospel is hidden, it is hidden among those who are perishing, ⁴ among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them. ⁵ For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus' sake. ⁶ Because it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁹ whose coming is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and in all deception of unrighteousness among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And because of this, God will send them strong delusion, in order for them to believe the lie, ¹² so that they all might be damned who did not believe the truth, but delighted in unrighteousness.

¹ You therefore, my child, be empowered by the grace which is in Christ Jesus. ² And the things which you have heard from me through many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be competent to teach others also. ³ You therefore endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

³² But remember the former days, in which after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle of sufferings, ³³ in part being exposed publicly, both to reproaches and to afflictions, and in part having become partners of those treated in this way.

³ Now by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. ⁴ He who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true; and we are in Him that is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

¹¹ Then a long white robe was given to them, and it was said to them that they should rest yet a while, until also their fellow servants and their brothers, who were about to be killed as also they were, should complete their course.

⁹ After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, out of every nation, and from tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, having been clothed in long white robes, with palm branches in their hands. ¹⁰ And they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God, to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"

⁷ And there came to be war in heaven: Michael and his angels, waging war with the dragon; and the dragon made war, and his angels, ⁸ and he did not prevail, nor was a place found for him any longer in heaven. ⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers, the one who accused them before our God day and night, has been thrown out of heaven. ¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

¹² And he exercises all the authority of the first beast before him, and he causes the earth and those who dwell in it, to worship the first Beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And he works great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth before men. ¹⁴ And he deceives my own people who dwell on the earth by the signs which were given to him to do before the Beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound--and came to life! -from the sword. ¹⁵ And it was granted to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

³ And they shall no longer trust in men, but they shall incline their ears to hear. ⁴ And the heart of the weak ones shall attend to hear, and the stammering tongues shall soon learn to speak peace.

³ And the wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and some of the many righteous as the stars forever and ever. ⁴ And you, Daniel, close the words, and seal the book to the time of the end; until many are taught, and knowledge is increased.

¹⁰ Many must be tested, and thoroughly whitened, and tried with fire, and sanctified; but the transgressors shall transgress: and none of the transgressors shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

²⁰ Thus says the Lord Almighty; Yet shall many peoples come, and the inhabitants of many cities; ²¹ and the inhabitants of five cities shall come together to one city, saying, Let us go to make supplication to the Lord, and to seek the face of the Lord Almighty; I will go also. ²² And many peoples and many nations shall come to seek earnestly the face of the Lord Almighty in Jerusalem, and to obtain the favor of the Lord. ²³ Thus says the Lord Almighty; In those days My word shall be fulfilled if ten men of all the languages of the nations should take hold — even take hold of the hem of a Jew, saying, We will go with you; for we have heard that God is with you.

⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty.

²¹ Now brother will hand over brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents, and put them to death.

¹¹ He answered and said to them, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

⁵¹ Jesus said to them, "Have you understood all these things?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." ⁵² Then He said to them, "Therefore every scribe having become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure new and old things."

²³ So He said to them, "You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is to those for whom it has been prepared by My Father."

⁹ Then they will hand you over to tribulation and they will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations, on account of My name.

²⁰ teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

⁴⁴ Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me." ⁴⁵ And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. ⁴⁶ Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, ⁴⁷ and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

² They will excommunicate you; but a time is coming when everyone who kills you will think that he is offering God a service.

² being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. ³ And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. ⁴ However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

²⁶ and having found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came about that for a whole year they assembled with the church and instructed many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

² And he put to death James the brother of John with the sword. ³ And seeing that it was pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded further to arrest Peter also (and then were the Days of Unleavened Bread),

²¹ And having preached the gospel to that city and having made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and Iconium, and Antioch,

⁹ For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men appointed to death; for we became a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men.

¹² For which cause I also suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I have been persuaded that He is able to guard that which I have committed to Him until that Day.

²⁴ And a servant of the Lord ought not to fight, but to be gentle to all, skillful at teaching, forbearing, ²⁵ in meekness instructing those that oppose, if God perhaps may give them repentance, to a full knowledge of the truth,

⁶ For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has arrived.

³⁴ quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became mighty in battle, turned to flight the armies of foreigners.

³⁶ Still others took a trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and of prison. ³⁷ They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tried, they were slain, being murdered with the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, being in want, being afflicted, being ill treated, ³⁸ of whom the world was not worthy, wandering in deserts and mountains and caves, and the holes of the earth.

⁹ I, John, your brother and partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in Christ Jesus, came to be on the island that is called Patmos on account of the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

¹³ "I know your works, and where you live, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith in the days in which Antipas was My faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan is dwelling.

⁹ And when He opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.

¹⁴ And I said to him, "My lord, you know." So he said to me, "These are those who come out of the Great Tribulation, and have washed their robes and they made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

⁷ And it was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, people, language, and nation. ⁸ And all those who dwell on the earth shall worship him, whose name is not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. ⁹ If anyone has an ear, let him hear. ¹⁰ If anyone has captivity, he goes away; if anyone is with the sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

⁶ I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

¹⁵ "But beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

²⁹ For I know this, that savage wolves will come in after my departure, not sparing the flock. ³⁰ Also from among you yourselves will arise men speaking things having been distorted, in order to draw away the disciples after them.

¹⁸ For such people do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and through smooth speech and flattering, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

¹³ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. ¹⁵ Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

⁴ and that was because of false brothers secretly brought in (who slipped in to spy out our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might reduce us to slavery),

¹ But the Spirit explicitly says, that in latter times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, ² speaking lies in hypocrisy, having been seared with a hot iron as to their own conscience,

¹ But know this, that in the last days perilous times shall come. ² For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, not loving what is good, ⁴ traitors, headstrong, having been puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, ⁵ having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from these people turn away! ⁶ For of these are those who creep into houses and captivate gullible women having been loaded down with sins, who are led by various lusts, ⁷ always learning and never being able to come to a full knowledge of the truth.

³ For there will be a time when they will not put up with sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, they will heap up for themselves teachers, tickling their ears,

¹¹ whom it is necessary to shut their mouths, who overturn whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master, the One having bought them, and bringing upon themselves swift destruction. ² And many will follow after their debaucheries, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. ³ And by covetousness they will exploit you with fabricated words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction will not sleep.

¹⁸ For when they speak haughty words of emptiness, they entice through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, those who are escaping from those who are living in error, ¹⁹ promising to them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom anyone has been defeated, by this one also he has been enslaved.

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. ¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out in order that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

⁵ They are of the world: on account of this they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

⁷ Because many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and the antichrist.

⁴ For certain men have crept in unawares, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, changing the grace of our God into licentiousness and denying the only Master God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ But I have this against you, that you tolerate your wife Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit fornication and eat things sacrificed to idols.

² And being pregnant, she was crying out, being in labor and being in great pain to give birth. ³ And another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great, fiery dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns on his heads. ⁴ And his tail dragged a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that whenever she might give birth, he might devour her Child. ⁵ And she gave birth to a Son, a male who would shepherd all the nations with an iron rod. And her Child was caught up to God and to His throne. ⁶ Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place having been prepared by God, so that they may nourish her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

¹³ Now when the dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

¹¹ Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke like a dragon. ¹² And he exercises all the authority of the first beast before him, and he causes the earth and those who dwell in it, to worship the first Beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And he works great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth before men. ¹⁴ And he deceives my own people who dwell on the earth by the signs which were given to him to do before the Beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound--and came to life! -from the sword.

² And you shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness, that He might afflict you, and try you, and that the things in your heart might be made manifest, whether you would keep His commandments or not. ³ And He afflicted you and straitened you with hunger, and fed you with manna, which your fathers knew not; that He might teach you that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God shall man live.

¹⁶ who fed you with manna in the wilderness, which you knew not, and your fathers knew not; that He might afflict you, and thoroughly test you, and do you good in your latter days.

³¹ Notwithstanding, in regard to the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who were sent to him, to inquire of him concerning the wonders which came upon the land, the Lord left him, to test him, to know what was in his heart.

³ As silver and gold are tried in a furnace, so are choice hearts with the Lord.

¹⁰ And it magnified itself to the host of heaven; and there fell to the earth some of the host of heaven and of the stars, and they trampled on them.

¹⁷ And he came and stood near where I stood. And when he came, I was struck with awe, and fell upon my face. But he said to me, Understand, son of man, for the vision is yet for an appointed time.

²⁷ And one week shall establish the covenant with many. And in the midst of the week my sacrifice and drink offering shall be taken away: and on the temple shall be the abomination of desolations; and at the end of the time an end shall be put to the desolation.

²⁷ And as for both the kings, their hearts are set upon evil, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper; for yet the end is for a fixed time.

³³ And the intelligent of the people shall understand much; yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, and by captivity, and by the spoil of many days.

⁴ And you, Daniel, close the words, and seal the book to the time of the end; until many are taught, and knowledge is increased.

¹⁰ Many must be tested, and thoroughly whitened, and tried with fire, and sanctified; but the transgressors shall transgress: and none of the transgressors shall understand, but the wise shall understand. ¹¹ And from the time of the removal of the perpetual sacrifice, when the abomination of desolation shall be set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

⁹ And I will bring the third part through the fire, and I will try them as silver is tried, and I will prove them as gold is proved: they shall call upon My name, and I will hear them, and say, This is My people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

² And who will abide the day of His coming? Or who will withstand at His appearing? For He is coming in as the fire of a furnace and as the herb of fullers. ³ He shall sit to melt and purify as it were silver, and as it were gold: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver, and they shall offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness. ⁴ And the sacrifice of Judah and Jerusalem shall be pleasing to the Lord, according to the former days, and according to the former years.

¹ For behold, a day comes burning as an oven, and it shall consume them; and all the aliens, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that is coming shall set them on fire, says the Lord Almighty, and there shall not be left of them root or branch. ² But to you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise, and healing shall be in His wings: and you shall go forth, and bound as young calves let loose from bonds. ³ And you shall trample the wicked; for they shall be ashes underneath your feet in the day which I appoint, says the Lord Almighty.

¹⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

⁶⁹ Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, "You also were with Jesus of Galilee." ⁷⁰ But he denied it before them all, saying, "I do not know what you are saying." ⁷¹ And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to them there, "This man was with Jesus the Nazarene." ⁷² But again he denied with an oath, "I do not know the Man!" ⁷³ And after a little while, those standing by came up and said to Peter, "Surely you also are one of them, for your accent gives you away." ⁷⁴ Then he began to curse and swear, saying, "I do not know the Man!" And immediately a rooster crowed. ⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the word of Jesus which He said to him, "Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times." And going out, he wept bitterly.

² Every branch in Me which does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch which bears fruit He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit.

²⁵ The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will by no means believe."

¹³ Now Paul and his companions put to sea from Paphos, and came to Perga of Pamphylia; But John deserted them and returned to Jerusalem.

² Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various trials,

⁶ In which you greatly rejoice, though for a little while now, if need be, you have been distressed by various trials, ⁷ so that the genuineness of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, though being tested with fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Fear none of those things which you are about to suffer. Behold indeed, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹⁵ And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud, "Thrust in Your sickle and reap, because the time has come to reap, because the harvest of the earth has withered."

¹⁷ For the Lord your God, He is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great and mighty; the awesome God, who is no respector of persons, nor will He by any means accept a bribe;

²² God, even God is the Lord, and even God Himself knows, and Israel shall know; if we have transgressed before the Lord by apostasy, let Him not deliver us this day.

¹⁰ The Lord frustrates the counsels of the nations; He brings to nought the reasonings of the people, and brings to nought the counsels of princes.

¹³ But you have said in your heart, I will go up to heaven, I will set my throne above the stars of heaven; I will sit on a lofty mount, on the lofty mountains toward the north;

⁴⁷ And the king answered and said to Daniel, Truly your God is a God of gods, and Lord of kings, who reveals mysteries; for you have been able to reveal this mystery.

²⁰ And concerning its ten horns that were on its head, and the other that came up, and rooted up some of the former ones, which had eyes, and a mouth speaking great things, and his appearance was greater than the others. ²¹ I beheld, and that horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; ²² until the Ancient of Days came, and He gave judgment to the saints of the Most High; and the time was fulfilled, and the saints possessed the kingdom. ²³ And he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom on the earth, which shall excel beyond all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and trample and destroy it. ²⁴ And his ten horns are ten kings that shall arise: and after them shall arise another, who shall exceed all the former ones in wickedness and he shall subdue three kings. ²⁵ And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change times and law. And power shall be given into his hand for a time, times and half a time.

¹¹ And this shall be until the Chief Captain has delivered the captivity: and by reason of the horn the sacrifice was disturbed, and he prospered; and the holy place shall be made desolate. ¹² And a sin offering was given for the sacrifice, and righteousness was cast down to the ground; and he did all this, and prospered.

²⁴ and his power shall be great, and he shall destroy fearfully, and shall prosper and thrive, and shall destroy the mighty men, and the holy people. ²⁵ And the yoke of his chain shall prosper: there is underhanded treachery in his hand, and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by deceit he shall destroy many, and shall stand up for the destruction of many, and shall crush them like eggs in his hand.

²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks, the Anointed One shall be killed, and there is no judgment in Him. And He shall destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is to come: they shall be cut off with a flood, and to the end of the war which is rapidly completed He shall appoint the city to desolations. ²⁷ And one week shall establish the covenant with many. ²⁸ to do all that Your hand and Your counsel foreordained to come to pass.

⁴ who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or every object of worship, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

⁷ but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, whenever he is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.

² But leave out the outer court of the temple, and do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. And they shall trample the holy city for forty-two months. ³ And I will give power to My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, having been clothed in sackcloth."

⁹ "The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her shall weep and mourn over her, when they see the smoke of her burning, ¹⁰ standing from afar on account of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! Because in one hour your judgment came.' ¹¹ "And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: ¹² merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; ¹³ and cinnamon and incense, perfume and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.

¹ The vision of the desert. As though a whirlwind should pass through the desert, coming from a desert, even from such a land,

¹⁵ For behold, the Lord will come as fire, and His chariots as a storm, to render His vengeance with wrath, and His rebuke with a flame of fire.

¹³ Behold, he shall come up as a cloud, and his chariots as a tempest. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us, for we are in misery!

⁴ and I will gather you, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all wearing breastplates, with a great multitude, shields and helmets and swords;

¹⁴ Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, Thus says the Lord: Will you not arise in that day, when my people Israel are dwelling securely, ¹⁵ and come out of your place from the farthest north, and many nations with you? All of them mounted on horses, a great gathering, and a large force? ¹⁶ And you shall come up upon My people Israel as a cloud to cover the land; it shall come to pass in the last days, that I will bring you up upon My land, that all the nations may know Me, when I am sanctified in you before them. ¹⁷ Thus says the Lord God, to Gog: You are the one concerning whom I spoke in former times, by the hand of My servants the prophets of Israel, in those days and years, that I would bring you up against them. ¹⁸ And it shall come to pass in that day, in the day when Gog shall come against the Land of Israel, says the Lord God,

¹⁰ And I will bring them again from the land of Egypt, and I will gather them in from among the Assyrians; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and to Lebanon; and not one of them shall be left behind. ¹¹ And they shall pass through a narrow sea, they shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deep places of the rivers shall be dried up: and all the pride of the Assyrians shall be taken away, and the scepter of Egypt shall be removed.

¹⁷ And it shall come to pass, that whichever of all the families of the earth shall not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, even these shall be added to the others.

⁸ And their corpse will lie on the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

⁸ And all these your servants shall come down to me, and reverence me, saying, Go forth, you and all the people over whom you presided, and afterwards I will go forth.

⁹ Mount the horses, prepare the chariots; go forth, you warriors of the Ethiopians, and Libyans armed with shields; and mount, you Libyans, bend the bow. ¹⁰ And that day shall be to the Lord our God a day of vengeance, to take vengeance on His enemies. ⁹ And Ethiopia is her strength, and Egypt; and there was no limit of the flight of her enemies; and the Libyans became her helpers.

¹⁹ And I saw the Beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, having been gathered together to make war against Him who rode on the horse and against His army. ²⁰ Then the Beast was apprehended, and with him the False Prophet who had performed the signs before him, by which he had deceived those who received the mark of the Beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. ²¹ And the rest were slain with the sword which proceeds from the mouth of Him who rode on the horse. And all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh.

² The city of the great King is well planted on the mountains of Zion, with the joy of the whole earth, on the sides of the north.

² For in the last days the mountain of the Lord shall be glorious, and the house of God shall be on the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall come to it.

²² And I will judge him with pestilence, and blood, and sweeping rain, and hailstones; and I will rain upon him fire and brimstone, and upon all that are with him, and upon many nations with him. ²³ And I will be magnified, and sanctified, and glorified; and I will be known in the presence of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.

² and I will assemble you, and guide you, and raise you up on the extremity of the north, and I will bring you up upon the mountains of Israel.

³⁵ Then once for all the clay, the iron, the brass, the silver, and the gold were ground into powder, and became as chaff from the summer threshing floor. And the violence of the wind carried them away, and no place was found for them. And the stone which had struck the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

²⁶ But the court shall be seated, and they shall remove his dominion to abolish it, and to destroy it utterly.

²⁰ And I will chase away from you the northern adversary, and will drive him away into a dry land, and I will sink his face in the former sea, and his back parts in the latter sea, and his stench shall come up, and his foul odor will rise, because he has worked great things.

² And many nations shall go, and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and they shall show us His way, and we will walk in His paths: for out of Zion shall go forth a law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

⁸ And in that day living water shall come forth out of Jerusalem; half of it toward the former sea, and half of it toward the latter sea: and so shall it be in summer and spring.

⁸ And then the lawless one will be unveiled, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth, and will destroy by the brightness of His coming,

¹⁰ If anyone has captivity, he goes away; if anyone is with the sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

¹⁴ And I saw, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. ¹⁵ And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud, "Thrust in Your sickle and reap, because the time has come to reap, because the harvest of the earth has withered." ¹⁶ So He that sat on the cloud swung His sickle onto the earth, and the earth was harvested. ¹⁷ Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. ¹⁸ And another angel came out from the altar, having authority over the fire, and he called with a loud cry to the one having the sharp sickle, saying, "Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the grape clusters of the vine of the earth, because the grapes are ripe." ¹⁹ So the angel threw out his sickle to the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and he threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. ²⁰ And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses' bridles, about one thousand six hundred stadia.

² And he seized the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, he who deceives the whole world, and he bound him for a thousand years;

⁹ They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.
