²⁶ From where have you come, Gehazi? And Gehazi said, Your servant has not been anywhere. And Elisha said to him, Did not my heart go with you, when the man returned from his chariot to meet you? And now you have received silver, and now you have received clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, menservants, and maidservants.

²³ that I will not take from all your goods, from a string to a sandal strap, lest you should say, I have made Abram rich.

¹⁶ And Elisha said, As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will not take anything. And he pressed him to take something; but he would not.

¹² And one of his servants said, None, my Lord, O king, but Elisha the prophet that is in Israel reports to the king of Israel all the words that you speak in your bedroom.

¹¹ But the king shall rejoice in God; everyone that swears by Him shall be praised; for the mouth of them that speak unjust things has been stopped.

¹⁹ True lips establish testimony, but a hasty witness has an unjust tongue.

²² Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but he that deals faithfully is accepted by Him.

¹ To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven. ² A time to give birth, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what has been planted; ³ a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to pull down, and a time to build up; ⁴ a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to lament, and a time to dance; ⁵ a time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; ⁶ a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; ⁷ a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak; ⁸ a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

⁸ "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

⁹ Then Peter said to her, "Why is it that it was agreed by you to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they shall carry you out."

³³ I have desired the silver or gold or clothes of no one.

³⁵ By all things I have shown you, that thus laboring it is necessary to help those being weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "

³ For I indeed, as being absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has done this deed in this way,

¹¹ If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? ¹² If others partake of this right over you, do not we even more? Nevertheless we did not use this right, but bear all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ.

⁸ I robbed other churches, taking wages from them to minister to you, ⁹ and when I was present with you, and in need, I did not burden anyone; for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my need. And in everything I kept myself from being a burden to you, and so I will keep myself. ¹⁰ As the truth of Christ is in me, that this boasting will not be silenced in me in the regions of Achaia. ¹¹ Why? Because I do not love you? God knows! ¹² But what I am doing, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity of those who desire an opportunity, that in what they boast they may be found just as we are.

⁵ For though indeed I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your orderliness and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

⁸ nor did we eat bread from anyone without paying, but in labor and hardship, working night and day, so as not to be a burden to any of you, ⁹ not because we do not have authority, but in order that we may give ourselves as a pattern to you, so that you might follow us.
