¹⁷ For we are not as the rest, corrupting the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.

³¹ the prophets utter unrighteous prophecies, and the priests have clapped their hands, and My people have loved it! And what will you do for the future?

²⁷ Who devise that men may forget My law by their dreams, which they have told everyone to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name in the worship of Baal. ²⁸ The prophet who has a dream, let him tell his dream; and he in whom is My word spoken to him, let him tell My word truly. What is the chaff to the wheat? So are My words, says the Lord. ²⁹ Behold, are not My words as fire? Says the Lord; and as an axe cutting the rock? ³⁰ Behold, I am therefore against the prophets, says the Lord God, that steal My words everyone from his neighbor. ³¹ Behold, I am against the prophets that put forth prophecies of mere words, and slumber their sleep. ³² Therefore behold, I am against the prophets that prophesy false dreams, and have not told them truly, and have caused My people to err by their lies, and by their errors; yet I sent them not, and commanded them not. Therefore, they shall not profit this people at all.

²⁴ For false christs and false prophets will be raised up, and they will show great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

²⁰ how I kept back nothing that was profitable, but declared it to you, teaching you publicly and from house to house,

²⁷ For I did not draw back from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

⁸ So then let us observe the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

¹² For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that we have conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and especially toward you.

² but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor falsifying the word of God, but by the disclosure of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience before God.

¹³ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. ¹⁵ Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

¹⁹ having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, ²⁰ of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I handed over to Satan so that they may be taught not to blaspheme.

¹ But the Spirit explicitly says, that in latter times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, ² speaking lies in hypocrisy, having been seared with a hot iron as to their own conscience, ³ forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who are believers and have come to know the truth.

⁶ It is necessary for the hard-working farmer to be first to receive of the fruits. ⁷ Consider the things I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. ⁸ Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, ⁹ in which I endure hardship unto chains as an evildoer; but the word of God is not chained. ¹⁰ Because of this, I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. ¹¹ Faithful is this word: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. ¹² If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. ¹³ If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. ¹⁴ Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to dispute about words, useful for nothing, for the ruin of the hearers. ¹⁵ Be diligent to show yourself approved unto God, a worker unashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ¹⁶ But shun profane and empty babblings; for they will advance to more ungodliness. ¹⁷ And their word will spread like gangrene; of whom are Hymenaeus and Philetus, ¹⁸ who have strayed concerning the truth, asserting that the resurrection has already occurred; and they overturn the faith of some.

³ For there will be a time when they will not put up with sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, they will heap up for themselves teachers, tickling their ears, ⁴ and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths.

¹¹ whom it is necessary to shut their mouths, who overturn whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.

²⁷ By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king; for he endured as seeing the Unseen One.

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master, the One having bought them, and bringing upon themselves swift destruction. ² And many will follow after their debaucheries, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. ³ And by covetousness they will exploit you with fabricated words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction will not sleep.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

⁷ Because many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and the antichrist. ⁸ Look to yourselves, lest we should lose those things for which we worked, but that we should receive a full reward. ⁹ Everyone who transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ, this one has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house, and do not greet him; ¹¹ for he who greets him shares in his evil works.

⁴ For certain men have crept in unawares, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, changing the grace of our God into licentiousness and denying the only Master God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, both to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication. ¹⁵ Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which likewise I hate.

²⁰ But I have this against you, that you tolerate your wife Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit fornication and eat things sacrificed to idols.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

²⁰ Then the Beast was apprehended, and with him the False Prophet who had performed the signs before him, by which he had deceived those who received the mark of the Beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
