¹² No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

³⁰ And Jacob called the name of that place Peniel; for, he said, I have seen God face to face, and my life was preserved.

²⁰ And God said, You shall not be able to see My face; for no man shall see My face and live.

⁸ I will speak plainly to him, mouth to mouth, and not in dark speeches; and he has seen the glory of the Lord; and why were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?

¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, He who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

¹³ And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

¹⁷ Now to the King of the Ages, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁶ who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or is able to see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

²⁷ By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king; for he endured as seeing the Unseen One.

⁵ But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

²⁴ And the one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, from the Spirit whom He gave us.

⁶ We are of God. He that knows God hears us; he that is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

¹⁷ By this love has been perfected with us: that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because just as He is, we also are in this world. ¹⁸ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment. But he that fears has not been made perfect in love.

²⁰ If anyone claims, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how is it possible for him to love God whom he has not seen?
