¹⁰ By this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Everyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

³⁸ And the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the evil one.

³⁵ But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping to receive nothing back; and your reward shall be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

⁴⁷ He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear them, because you are not of God."

¹⁰ he said, "O full of all guile and all craft, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?

¹⁶ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. ¹⁷ And if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer together, so that we may also be glorified together.

¹ Therefore be imitators of God as beloved children.

⁹ He who says that he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. ¹⁰ He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.

²⁹ If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him.

⁷ Little children, let no one deceive you. The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. ⁸ He who practices sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this reason the Son of God appeared, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed over from death to life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love his brother abides in death. ¹⁵ Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

³ and every spirit which does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard that it is coming, and now is already in the world. ⁴ You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

⁶ We are of God. He that knows God hears us; he that is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

⁸ He that does not love does not know God, because God is love.

²¹ And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God should love his brother also.

² By this we know that we love the children of God, whenever we love God and keep His commandments.

¹⁹ We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the evil one.

¹¹ Beloved, do not imitate the evil, but the good. He who does good is of God; he who does evil has not seen God.
