²¹ I did not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

⁵ For by the hearing of these a wise man will be wiser, and a man of understanding will gain direction;

⁸ Rebuke not evil men, lest they should hate you: rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. ⁹ Give an opportunity to a wise man, and he will be wiser: instruct a just man, and he will receive more instruction.

¹⁴ Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, having been filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others. ¹⁵ And I write more boldly to you brothers, in part, as reminding you, because of the grace having been given to me by God,

¹² Therefore I shall not neglect to constantly remind you concerning these things, although you know and have been established in the present truth.

⁵ But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
