⁷ And it came into the heart of David my father, to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

² that the king said to Nathan the prophet, Behold now, I live in a house of cedar, and the ark of the Lord dwells in the midst of a tent. ³ And Nathan said to the king, Go and do all that is in thine heart, for the Lord is with thee.

³ Thou knewest my father David, that he could not build a house to the name of the Lord my God because of the wars that compassed him about, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.
