¹ Hallelujah! Praise God in His sanctuary. Praise Him in His mighty heavens. ² Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him for His excellent greatness. ³ Praise Him with the sound of the horn; praise Him with the harp and lyre. ⁴ Praise Him with tambourine and dancing; praise Him with strings and flute. ⁵ Praise Him with clashing cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals. ⁶ Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Hallelujah!

⁶ And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters, to separate the waters from the waters.” ⁷ So God made the expanse and separated the waters beneath it from the waters above. And it was so. ⁸ God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

¹ For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.

⁹ The voice of the LORD twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in His temple all cry, “Glory!”

¹³ I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will fulfill my vows to You— ¹⁴ the vows that my lips promised and my mouth spoke in my distress. ¹⁵ I will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah ¹⁶ Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me.

¹⁹ For He looked down from the heights of His sanctuary; the LORD gazed out from heaven to earth

¹⁸ I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people, ¹⁹ in the courts of the LORD’s house, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!

¹⁹ Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter and give thanks to the LORD. ²⁰ This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous shall enter through it.

² Lift up your hands to the sanctuary and bless the LORD!

¹ Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise in the assembly of the godly.

²² Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was the likeness of an awesome expanse, gleaming like crystal. ²³ And under the expanse, their wings stretched out toward one another. Each one also had two wings covering its body. ²⁴ When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings like the roar of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of an army. When they stood still, they lowered their wings. ²⁵ And there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads as they stood still with their wings lowered. ²⁶ Above the expanse over their heads was the likeness of a throne with the appearance of sapphire, and on the throne high above was a figure like that of a man.

¹ And I looked and saw above the expanse, above the heads of the cherubim, the likeness of a throne of sapphire.

³ Then the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever.

²⁴ “O Lord GOD, You have begun to show Your greatness and power to Your servant. For what god in heaven or on earth can perform such works and mighty acts as Yours?

⁴ For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.

³ Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; His greatness is unsearchable.

⁵ the glorious splendor of Your majesty. And I will meditate on Your wondrous works. ⁶ They will proclaim the power of Your awesome deeds, and I will declare Your greatness.

¹² to make known to men Your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.

¹⁷ “Oh, Lord GOD! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You! ¹⁸ You show loving devotion to thousands but lay the iniquity of the fathers into the laps of their children after them, O great and mighty God whose name is the LORD of Hosts, ¹⁹ the One great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are on all the ways of the sons of men, to reward each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds.

³ and they sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb: “Great and wonderful are Your works, O Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations! ⁴ Who will not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.”

¹⁰ And on your joyous occasions, your appointed feasts, and the beginning of each month, you are to blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to serve as a reminder for you before your God. I am the LORD your God.”

²⁴ Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer—the priests—were to blow the trumpets before the ark of God. Obed-edom and Jehiah were also to be guardians of the ark.

²⁸ So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, with the sounding of rams’ horns and trumpets, and with cymbals and the music of harps and lyres.

⁴² Heman and Jeduthun had with them trumpets and cymbals for the music and instruments for the songs of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were stationed at the gate.

² Lift up a song, strike the tambourine, play the sweet-sounding harp and lyre. ³ Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon, and at the full moon on the day of our Feast.

⁵ Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre, in melodious song with the harp. ⁶ With trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn shout for joy before the LORD, the King.

² Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.

³ Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp.

⁵ As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the golden statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.

²⁰ Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her with tambourines and dancing.

³¹ My harp is tuned to mourning and my flute to the sound of weeping.

⁸ All your garments are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces of ivory the harps make you glad.

²⁰ The LORD will save me; we will play songs on stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the house of the LORD.

⁵ David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the LORD with all kinds of wood instruments, harps, stringed instruments, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals.

⁸ David and all the Israelites were celebrating before God with all their might, with songs and on harps and lyres, with tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.

¹⁶ David also told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their relatives as singers to lift up their voices with joy, accompanied by musical instruments—harps, lyres, and cymbals.

¹⁹ The musicians Heman, Asaph, and Ethan were to sound the bronze cymbals.

⁵ Asaph was the chief, Zechariah was second, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel. They were to play the harps and lyres, while Asaph sounded the cymbals

¹ Additionally, David and the commanders of the army set apart some of the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun to prophesy with the accompaniment of lyres, harps, and cymbals. The following is the list of the men who performed this service:

⁶ All these were under the direction of their fathers for the music of the house of the LORD with cymbals, harps, and lyres, for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the direction of the king.

²² Bless the LORD, all His works in all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!

¹⁰ All You have made will give You thanks, O LORD, and Your saints will bless You.

²¹ My mouth will declare the praise of the LORD; let every creature bless His holy name forever and ever.

⁷ Praise the LORD from the earth, all great sea creatures and ocean depths, ⁸ lightning and hail, snow and clouds, powerful wind fulfilling His word, ⁹ mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, ¹⁰ wild animals and all cattle, crawling creatures and flying birds, ¹¹ kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth,

¹³ And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever!”
