²³ The fear of the LORD leads to life, that one may rest content, without visitation from harm.

⁹ The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true, being altogether righteous.

¹³ His soul will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.

¹⁸ Surely the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His loving devotion ¹⁹ to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

⁹ Fear the LORD, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing. ¹⁰ Young lions go lacking and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. ¹¹ Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

⁹ Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that His glory may dwell in our land.

¹⁴ Satisfy us in the morning with Your loving devotion, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

¹⁶ With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”

¹⁷ But from everlasting to everlasting the loving devotion of the LORD extends to those who fear Him, and His righteousness to their children’s children—

¹⁸ The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call out to Him in truth. ¹⁹ He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them. ²⁰ The LORD preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.

²⁷ The fear of the LORD prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be cut short.

²¹ No harm befalls the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble.

²⁶ He who fears the LORD is secure in confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge. ²⁷ The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.

¹⁰ and if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light will go forth in the darkness, and your night will be like noonday. ¹¹ The LORD will always guide you; He will satisfy you in a sun-scorched land and strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

¹⁶ At that time those who feared the LORD spoke with one another, and the LORD listened and heard them. So a scroll of remembrance was written before Him regarding those who feared the LORD and honored His name. ¹⁷ “They will be Mine,” says the LORD of Hosts, “on the day when I prepare My treasured possession. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.

² “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go out and leap like calves from the stall.

⁶ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

³¹ Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria experienced a time of peace. It grew in strength and numbers, living in the fear of the Lord and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.

²⁸ And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.

¹¹ I am not saying this out of need, for I have learned to be content regardless of my circumstances. ¹² I know how to live humbly, and I know how to abound. I am accustomed to any and every situation—to being filled and being hungry, to having plenty and having need.

⁸ For physical exercise is of limited value, but godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for the present life and for the one to come.

⁶ Of course, godliness with contentment is great gain. ⁷ For we brought nothing into the world, so we cannot carry anything out of it. ⁸ But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these. ⁹ Those who want to be rich, however, fall into temptation and become ensnared by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.

¹⁸ And the Lord will rescue me from every evil action and bring me safely into His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

⁵ Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” ⁶ So we say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
