⁵³ For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

⁷ To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life.

¹² The night is nearly over; the day has drawn near. So let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. ¹³ Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. ¹⁴ Instead, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.

² For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, ³ because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. ⁴ So while we are in this tent, we groan under our burdens, because we do not wish to be unclothed but clothed, so that our mortality may be swallowed up by life.

²⁷ For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

²⁴ and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

² Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.
