¹² Not that already I have obtained it or already have been perfected, but I am pursuing, if also I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.

³ Now in proceeding, it came to pass as he draws near to Damascus, suddenly also a light from heaven flashed around him. ⁴ And having fallen on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?” ⁵ And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. ⁶ But rise up and enter into the city, and it will be told you that which it behooves you to do.”

¹⁵ But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is My vessel of choice to carry My name before the Gentiles, and also kings, and the sons of Israel.

¹⁹ For the good that I desire, I do not do; but the evil that I do not want, this I practice. ²⁰ Now if what I do not want, I do this, it is no longer I who do it, but sin dwelling in me. ²¹ So I find the principle in my desiring to do good, that evil is present with me. ²² For I delight in the Law of God according to the inward man; ²³ but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and making me captive to the law of sin being in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of this body of death?

¹⁰ but when the perfect should come, the partial will be done away.

¹ Therefore having these promises, beloved, we should cleanse ourselves from every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

⁹ For we rejoice when we might be weak, but you might be strong. But this also we pray: for your perfection.

¹⁷ For the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. For these are opposed to one another in order that you should not do those things you might wish.

⁴ just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world for us to be holy and blameless before Him, in love

¹² toward the perfecting of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ,

¹³ Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing indeed: Forgetting the things behind and reaching forward to the things ahead, ¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus.

¹⁶ Nevertheless, to that which we have attained, we are to walk by the same.

¹⁵ See that no one has repaid to anyone evil for evil, but always pursue the good also toward one another and toward all.

¹³ But we ought to give thanks to God always concerning you, brothers beloved by the Lord, that God has chosen you from the beginning unto salvation in the sanctification of the Spirit, and by faith of the truth;

¹⁰ being borne witness to in good works: if she has brought up children, if she has entertained strangers, if she has washed the feet of the saints, if she has imparted relief to those being oppressed, if she has followed after every good work.

¹¹ But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. ¹² Fight the good fight of the faith. Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and also did confess the good confession before many witnesses.

¹⁹ treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is indeed life.

¹⁴ Pursue peace with all, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord,

²³ and to the assembly, to the church of the firstborn having been enrolled in the heavens, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous having been perfected,

²¹ equip you in everything good, in order to do His will, working in us that which is well pleasing before Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory to the ages of the ages. Amen.

² For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, this one is a perfect man, able indeed to bridle the whole body.

¹¹ Also let him turn away from evil, and let him do good. Let him seek peace and let him pursue it. ¹² Because the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears toward their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those doing evil.” ¹³ And who is he who will harm you, if you should be zealous for that which is good?

¹⁰ And the God of all grace, the One having called you to His eternal glory in Christ, of you having suffered a little while, He Himself will perfect, will confirm, will strengthen, and will establish you.

⁵ Now also for this very reason, having brought in all earnestness, supplement into your faith virtue, and into virtue knowledge, ⁶ and into knowledge self-control, and into self-control endurance, and into endurance godliness, ⁷ and into godliness brotherly affection, and into brotherly affection love. ⁸ For these things being in you and abounding, make you neither idle nor unfruitful as to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ But grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
