¹⁹ Whoever then shall break one of the least of these commandments and shall teach others the same, he will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whoever shall keep and shall teach them, he will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.

¹¹ Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the least in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he!

³ And answering He said to them, “Why also do you break the commandment of God on account of your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, ‘Honor the Father and mother’ and, ‘The one speaking evil of father or mother, in death must end!’ ⁵ But you say, ‘Whoever shall say to the father or mother, “Whatever you might be profited by me is a gift,” ⁶ he shall not honor his father or his mother.’ And you made void the commandment of God on account of your tradition!

²⁸ And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man shall sit down upon His throne of glory, you having followed Me, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

²⁶ Thus will it not be among you. But whoever wishes to become great among you, he will be your servant;

¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides, those saying, ‘Whoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever shall swear by the gold of the temple is bound by his oath.’ ¹⁷ Foolish and blind! For which is greater, the gold, or the temple having sanctified the gold? ¹⁸ And you say, ‘Whoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it is bound by his oath.’ ¹⁹ Blind! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar sanctifying the gift? ²⁰ Therefore the one having sworn by the altar swears by it and by all things that are upon it. ²¹ And the one having sworn by the temple swears by it and by the One dwelling in it. ²² And the one having sworn by heaven swears by the throne of God and by the One sitting upon it. ²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithes of mint and dill and cumin, and you have neglected the weightier things of the Law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. It behooved you to do these, and not to be leaving aside those.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And behold, I am with you all the days, until the completion of the age.”

¹⁵ For he will be great before the Lord. And he shall never drink wine and strong drink, and he will be full of the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.

⁴⁸ and He said to them, “Whoever shall receive this child in My name, receives Me; and whoever shall receive Me, receives the One having sent Me. For the one being least among you all, he shall be great.”

⁴² But woe to you Pharisees, for you pay tithes of mint and rue and every herb; and you pass by justice and the love of God. But it behooved you to do these things, and those not to neglect.

²⁴ And there was also a dispute among them which of them is thought to be the greatest. ²⁵ And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles rule over them, and those exercising authority over them are called benefactors. ²⁶ But you shall not be thus. Instead, the greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and the one leading, as the one serving.

¹ In the first account I composed, O Theophilus, concerning all the things that Jesus began both to do and to teach,

⁸ And is it not, as we are slanderously charged, and as some affirm us to say, “Let us do evil things that good things may come?” Their condemnation is just.

¹ What then will we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?

¹⁵ What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Never may it be!

⁸ Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for the one loving the other has fulfilled the Law. ⁹ For, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, in, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁰ Love does not do evil to its neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.

¹⁰ For as many as are of works of the Law are under a curse, for it has been written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue all things having been written in the book of the Law, to do them.” ¹¹ Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, because “The righteous will live by faith.” ¹² But the Law is not of faith. Rather, “The one having done these things will live by them.” ¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it has been written: “Cursed is everyone hanging on a tree”—

¹⁴ For the entire Law is fulfilled in in this one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁵ But if you bite and devour one another, take heed, lest you might be consumed by one another. ¹⁶ Now I say, walk by the Spirit, and you should not gratify the desires of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. For these are opposed to one another in order that you should not do those things you might wish. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, contentions, dissensions, factions, ²¹ envyings, drunkennesses, carousing, and things like these, as to which I forewarn you, even as I warned before, that those doing such things will not inherit God’s kingdom. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. ²⁴ Now those of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

¹⁷ Be imitators together of me brothers, and consider those walking thus, as you have us for a pattern. ¹⁸ For many are walking—of whom I have told you often and now I say even weeping—as enemies of the cross of Christ,

⁸ Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is venerable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if any excellence and if any praise—think on these things. ⁹ And what you have learned and have received and have heard and have seen in me, practice these things. And the God of peace will be with you.

¹⁰ You are witnesses, and God, how holily and righteously and blamelessly we behaved toward you, those believing, ¹¹ just as you know how each one of you, as a father his own children, ¹² we were exhorting and comforting you and charging unto you to walk worthily of God, who calls you into His kingdom and glory.

¹ Finally then, brothers, we implore and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that just as you have received from us in what manner it behooves you to walk and to please God, just as even you walk now, so you should abound more. ² For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. ³ For this is the will of God, your sanctification: You are to abstain from sexual immorality; ⁴ each of you to know how to win mastery over his own vessel in holiness and honor, ⁵ not in the passion of lust, as also the Gentiles, not knowing God; ⁶ not to go beyond and to overreach his brother in the matter, because the Lord is avenging concerning all these things, just as also we told you before and thoroughly warned. ⁷ For God has not called us to impurity, but into holiness.

¹¹ Command and teach these things. ¹² Let no one despise your youth, but be a pattern for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

³ If anyone teaches another doctrine and does not draw near, being sound in the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching according to godliness, ⁴ he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but unhealthy about controversies and disputes about words, out of which come envy, strife, slander, evil suspicions,

¹¹ But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.

⁸ and sound speech beyond reproach, so that he who is of the contrary may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say concerning us. ⁹ Servants are to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not gainsaying, ¹⁰ not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, so that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.

⁸ Trustworthy is the saying, and I want you to affirm strongly concerning these things, so that those believing God may take care to be devoted to good works. These things are excellent and profitable to men.

¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole Law, but shall stumble in one point, he has become guilty of all. ¹¹ For the One having said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” But if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law.

⁴ And the Chief Shepherd having been revealed, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have some there holding the teaching of Balaam, who would teach Balak to cast a snare before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. ¹⁵ So likewise you also have some holding the teaching of the Nicolaitans.

²⁰ But I have against you that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, the one calling herself a prophetess and teaching and misleading My servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
