⁹ Then will they deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations on account of My name.

¹⁷ But beware of men; for they will deliver you into the courts and they will flog you in their synagogues. ¹⁸ And you will be brought also before governors and kings on account of Me, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. ¹⁹ And when they deliver you up, do not be anxious how or what you should speak; for in that hour you will be given what you should say, ²⁰ for you are not those speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. ²¹ And brother will deliver up brother to death, and father, child; and children will rise up against parents and will put them to death. ²² And you will be hated by all on account of My name; but the one having endured to the end, he will be saved.

⁶ And the rest, having laid hold of his servants, mistreated and killed them.

³⁴ Because of this, behold, I send to you prophets and wise men and scribes. Some of them you will kill and will crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues, and will persecute from town to town;

⁹ But you take heed to yourselves. They will betray you to courts, and you will be beaten in synagogues; and you will stand before governors and kings because of Me, for a testimony to them. ¹⁰ And the gospel it behooves first to proclaim to all the nations. ¹¹ But when they might lead you away, delivering you up, do not be anxious beforehand what you should say; but whatever might be given to you in that hour, speak that. For you are not those speaking, but the Holy Spirit. ¹² And brother will deliver up brother to death, and father, child; and children will rise up against parents, and will put them to death. ¹³ And you will be hated by all on account of My name; but the one having endured to the end, he will be saved.

⁴⁹ Because of this also, the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’

¹² But before all these things, they will lay their hands upon you, and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors on account of My name.

¹⁶ And you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put to death some from among you. ¹⁷ And you will be hated by all because of My name.

¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world but I chose you out of the world, on account of this, the world hates you. ²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

² They will put you out of the synagogues; but an hour is coming that everyone having killed you will think it is to offer a service to God.

² being distressed because of their teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection out from the dead. ³ And they laid hands on them and put them in custody until the next day; for it was already evening.

⁴⁰ And they were persuaded by him. And having called in the apostles, having beaten them, they commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and they released them. ⁴¹ Therefore indeed they departed from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.

⁵⁹ And as they were stoning Stephen, he was calling out and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”

¹ Now at that time, Herod the king put forth the hands to mistreat some of those of the church. ² And he put to death James the brother of John with the sword. ³ And having seen that it is pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded to take Peter also—now these were the days of the Unleavened Bread— ⁴ whom also, having seized, he put in prison, having delivered him to four sets of four soldiers to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover. ⁵ So indeed Peter was kept in the prison, but fervent prayer was being made to God by the church concerning him.

³¹ And of them seeking to kill him, a report came to the commander of the cohort that all Jerusalem was in an uproar, ³² who at once, having taken with him soldiers and centurions, ran down upon them. And having seen the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.

¹⁹ And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in each of those synagogues I was imprisoning and beating those believing on You. ²⁰ And when the blood of Your witness of Stephen was poured out, I myself also was standing by and consenting and watching over the garments of those killing him.’ ²¹ And He said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’” ²² Now they were listening to him until this word. Then they lifted up their voice, saying, “Away with such from the earth. For he is not fit to live!”

²² But we deem it worthy to hear from you what you think, for truly concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.”

¹⁴ For you became imitators, brothers, of the churches of God in Judea being in Christ Jesus. For the same as them, you also suffered from the own countrymen as they also did from the Jews, ¹⁵ who having killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and having driven us out, and not pleasing God, are also set against all men, ¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, so as always to fill up their sins. Now the wrath has come upon them to the utmost.

¹⁶ but if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this name.

¹⁰ Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you might be tested; and you shall have tribulation ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give to you the crown of life.

¹³ I know where you dwell, where the throne of Satan is; and you hold fast to My name, and you have not denied My faith, even in the days of Antipas My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

⁹ And when He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those having been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had upheld. ¹⁰ And they were crying in a loud voice, saying, “Until when, O Lord, holy and true, do You not judge and avenge our blood from those dwelling upon the earth?” ¹¹ And to each of them were given white robes, and it was said to them that they shall rest yet a little time, until their fellow servants would also be complete, and their brothers, those being about to be killed as they also had been.

¹⁴ And I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
