²⁷ For just as the lightning comes forth from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

²⁰ And Jesus says to him, “Foxes have holes, and the birds of the air nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere He might lay the head.”

²⁸ Truly I say to you, there are some of those standing here who shall not taste of death until they have seen the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”

³ And as He was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him in private, saying, “Tell us, when these things will be? And what is the sign of Your coming, and the consummation of the age?”

³⁷ For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

³⁹ and they were unaware until the flood came and took away all; so also will be the coming of the Son of Man.

²⁴ For as the lightning shines, flashing from the one end of the sky to the other end of the sky, thus the Son of Man will be in His day. ²⁵ But first it behooves Him to suffer many things, and to be rejected by this generation. ²⁶ And as it came to pass in the days of Noah, thus also will it be in the days of the Son of Man: ²⁷ They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until that day Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed all. ²⁸ Likewise, as it came to pass in the days of Lot, they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; ²⁹ and in that day Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed all. ³⁰ It will be according to these in that day the Son of Man is revealed. ³¹ In that day, the one who will be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, do not let him come down to take them away; and likewise the one in the field, do not let him return to the things behind. ³² Remember Lot’s wife! ³³ Whoever may seek to save his life will lose it; but whoever will lose it will preserve it. ³⁴ I say to you, in that night there will be two upon one bed: The one will be taken, and the other will be left. ³⁵ There will be two women grinding at the same place: The one will be taken, and the other will be left.” ^{36 37} And answering, they say to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered together.”

⁸ You also be patient; strengthen your hearts, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near.

⁴ and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For from the time that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
