⁷ saying, ‘It behooves the Son of Man to be delivered into hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to arise.’”

⁴⁴ And He said unto to them, “These are my words, which I spoke to you being still with you, that all things having been written concerning Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms, it behooves to be fulfilled.”

⁴⁶ And He said to them, “Thus it has been written: The Christ was to suffer and to rise out from the dead on the third day,

³ opening and setting forth that it behooved the Christ to have suffered and to have risen out from the dead, and that “this Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ.”

³ For I delivered to you in the foremost what also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day according to the Scriptures,

⁸ You have put in subjection all things under his feet. For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing unsubject to him. But at present not yet do we see all things having been subjected to him. ⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, because of the suffering of death, having been crowned with glory and with honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. ¹⁰ For it was fitting to Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, having brought many sons to glory, to make perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.

²² And almost all things are purified with blood according to the Law, and apart from blood-shedding there is no forgiveness. ²³ Therefore it was necessary indeed for the representations of the things in the heavens to be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

² looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who in view of the joy lying before Him endured the cross, having despised its shame, and sat down at right hand of the throne of God.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the One according to His great mercy having begotten us again to a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ out from the dead,
