³ Simon Peter says to them, “I am going to fish.” They say to him, “We also are coming with you.” They went forth and went up into the boat, and during that night they caught nothing.

¹⁸ Now walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. ¹⁹ And He says to them, “Come follow after Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” ²⁰ And immediately having left the nets, they followed Him.

⁵ And Simon answering, said, “Master, having toiled through whole night, we have taken nothing; but at Your word, I will let down the nets.”

¹⁰ and likewise also James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Fear not; from now on you will be catching men.” ¹¹ And having brought the boats to the land, having left all, they followed Him.

³ and because of being of the same trade, he stayed with them and worked. For they were tentmakers by the trade.

³⁴ You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my needs and to those being with me.

⁷ So neither the one planting nor the one watering is anything, but only God, the One giving growth.

⁶ Or only I and Barnabas, have we no authority not to work?

⁹ For you remember, brothers, our labor and hardship: Working night and day in order not to burden any one of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.

⁷ For you yourselves know how it behooves you to imitate us, because we were not idle among you, ⁸ nor did we eat bread from anyone without payment, but in labor and toil, working night and day in order not to be burdensome to any of you, ⁹ not that we do not have the right, but that we may offer ourselves as an example to you for you to imitate us.
