¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and self-interest in your heart, do not boast of it and lie against the truth.

²⁹ being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness; gossips,

⁸ but to those of self-interest and disobeying the truth, but being persuaded about unrighteousness, wrath and anger;

¹⁷ But if you are called a Jew and rely on the Law and boast in God,

²³ You who boast in Law, do you dishonor God through the transgression of the Law? ²⁴ As it has been written: “For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you.” ²⁵ For circumcision profits if you do the Law; but if you are a transgressor of Law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. ²⁶ Therefore if the uncircumcision keeps the requirements of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be reckoned for circumcision? ²⁷ And the uncircumcision by nature, fulfilling the Law, will judge you who with the letter and circumcision are a transgressor of Law. ²⁸ For the one on the outside a Jew is not, neither that on the outside in flesh is circumcision. ²⁹ But he who is a Jew is one on the inside; and circumcision is of heart, in spirit, not in letter, of whom the praise is not of men, but of God.

¹³ We should walk properly, as in daytime; not in reveling and drinking, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in dissension and jealousy.

³ for you are still fleshly. For where jealousy and strife are among you, are you not fleshly, and are walking according to man?

⁷ For who makes you any different? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if also you did receive it, why do you boast as not having received it? ⁸ Already you are satiated; already you have been enriched; apart from us you reigned; and I wish that really you did reign, so that we also might reign with you.

² And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, so that the one having done this deed might be taken out of your midst!

⁶ Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious, it is not boastful, it is not puffed up.

²⁰ For I fear lest perhaps having come, I may not find you such as I wish, and I might be found by you such as you do not wish; lest perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, contentions, slander, gossip, conceit, disorder;

¹⁵ But if you bite and devour one another, take heed, lest you might be consumed by one another.

²¹ envyings, drunkennesses, carousing, and things like these, as to which I forewarn you, even as I warned before, that those doing such things will not inherit God’s kingdom.

²⁶ We should not become boastful, provoking one another, envying one another.

¹³ For not even those being circumcised keep the Law themselves, but they desire you to be circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh.

¹⁵ For some, even from envy and strife, are proclaiming Christ, but some also from goodwill—

³ nothing according to self-interest or according to vain conceit, but in humility be esteeming one another surpassing themselves,

⁴ he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but unhealthy about controversies and disputes about words, out of which come envy, strife, slander, evil suspicions,

³ For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

¹⁶ For where jealousy and self-interest exist, there will be disorder and every evil thing.

¹ From where come quarrels and from where conflicts among you? Is it not from there, out of your passions warring in your members? ² You desire and do not have. You kill and covet and are not able to obtain. You fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. ³ You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, that you may spend it in your pleasures. ⁴ Adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility with God? Therefore whoever has chosen to be a friend of the world is appointed an enemy of God. ⁵ Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit that He has made to dwell in us yearns with envy”?

¹⁹ My brothers, if anyone among you might wander from the truth, and someone should bring him back,

¹ Therefore having put aside all malice, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envies, and all evil speakings, ² like newborn babies, crave pure reasonable milk, so that by it you may grow up in respect to salvation,
