⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit was giving to them to utter forth.

¹⁹ And when they deliver you up, do not be anxious how or what you should speak; for in that hour you will be given what you should say,

¹⁷ And these signs will accompany those having believed: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

¹⁵ For he will be great before the Lord. And he shall never drink wine and strong drink, and he will be full of the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.

⁴¹ And it came to pass, as Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby in her womb leaped. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,

⁶⁷ And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, saying,

¹ And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

¹² For the Holy Spirit will teach you in the same hour what it behooves you to say.”

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all those opposing you will not be able to resist nor to reply to.

²⁶ But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and will bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you.

²² And having said this, He breathed on them and He says to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

⁵ for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days after these.”

⁸ But you will receive power, the Holy Spirit having come upon you, and you will be witnesses for Me, both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.”

¹¹ both Jews and converts; Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great things of God!”

⁸ Then Peter, having been filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders,

³¹ And they having prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and were speaking the word of God with boldness.

³ Therefore, brothers, select out from yourselves seven men being well attested, full of the Spirit and wisdom, whom we will appoint over this task.

⁵ And the statement was pleasing before the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas of Antioch, a convert,

⁸ Now Stephen, full grace and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people.

⁵⁵ But he being full of the Holy Spirit, having looked intently into heaven, saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,

¹⁷ And Ananias went away and entered into the house; and having laid the hands upon him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, the One having appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me that you may see again and be filled of the Holy Spirit.”

⁴⁶ For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,

¹⁵ And in my beginning to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, even as also upon us in the beginning.

²⁴ For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a large crowd was added to the Lord.

⁹ And Saul, the one also called Paul, having been filled the Holy Spirit, having looked intently upon him,

⁵² and the disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.

⁶ And of Paul having laid the hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they were speaking in tongues and prophesying.

¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, for you to abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁰ and to another working of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another distinguishing of spirits, and to a different one various kinds of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.

²⁸ And some indeed God has appointed in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, various kinds of tongues. ²⁹ Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? ³⁰ Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?

¹ If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

⁸ Love never fails; but if there are prophesies, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will be ceased; if there is knowledge it will pass away.

⁵ Now I desire you all to speak in tongues, but rather that you should prophesy. Now the one prophesying is greater than the one speaking in tongues, unless he should interpret, so that the church might receive edification.

¹⁸ I thank God, speaking in tongues more than all of you.

²¹ In the Law it has been written: “By other tongues, and by other lips, I will speak to this people, and not even thus will they hear Me, says the Lord.” ²² So then, tongues are for a sign, not to those believing, but to the unbelieving; but prophecy is not to the unbelieving, but to the believing. ²³ Therefore if the whole church gathers together in one place and all should speak in tongues, but uninstructed ones or unbelievers come in, will not they say that you are mad?

²⁶ What then is it, brothers? When you may come together, each has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. ²⁷ If anyone speaks with a tongue, let it be by two or the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret. ²⁸ But if there is no interpreter, let him be silent in the church, and let him speak to himself and to God. ²⁹ And let two or three prophets speak, and let the others discern. ³⁰ But if a revelation should be made to another sitting by, let the first be silent. ³¹ For you are all able to prophesy one by one, so that all may learn, and all may be exhorted. ³² And the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.

¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ surpassing knowledge, so that you may be filled unto all the fullness of God.

¹⁸ and not to be drunk with wine in which is debauchery. Instead be filled with the Spirit,

¹⁸ through all prayer and supplication, praying in the Spirit in every season and unto this very thing, watching with all perseverance and supplication for all saints,

¹² to whom it was revealed that they were serving not themselves, but you, in those things which now have been proclaimed to you by those having proclaimed the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit having been sent from heaven, into which angels desire to look.

²¹ For no prophecy at any time was brought by the will of man, but men spoke from God, being carried by the Holy Spirit.
