³³ I coveted nobody’s silver or gold or clothing.

¹² If others partake of the authority over you, should we not more? But we did not use this right. Instead, we bear all things, so that we should not place any hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

¹⁵ But I have not used any of these. And neither have I written these things that it should be thus with me; for it would be better to me to die, rather than that anyone will make void my boasting.

¹⁸ What then is my reward? That in preaching the gospel, I should offer the gospel free of charge, so as not to use up my right in the gospel.

² Make room for us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one.

⁹ And being present with you and having been in need, I did not burden anyone; for the brothers having come from Macedonia completely filled up my need, and in everything I kept and will keep myself unburdensome to you.

¹⁴ Behold, this third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not burden you. For I do not seek what is yours, but you. For the children ought not to treasure up for the parents, but the parents for the children. ¹⁵ Now I will spend most gladly, and will be utterly spent, for your souls. If loving you more abundantly, am I loved less? ¹⁶ But be it so, I did not burden you; but being crafty, I caught you by trickery. ¹⁷ By any of whom I have sent to you, did I exploit you by him?

⁵ For never at any time were we with word of flattery, just as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is witness—

² Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but willingly according to God; and not for base gain but eagerly,
