²⁹ If you know that He is righteous, you know also that everyone practicing righteousness has been begotten of Him.

¹⁶ By their fruits you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? ¹⁷ So every good tree bears good fruits, but the rotten tree bears bad fruits. ¹⁸ A good tree is not able to bear bad fruits, nor a bad tree to bear good fruits.

¹³ who were born not of blood, nor of will of flesh, nor of will of man, but of God.

³ Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, except anyone be born from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.” ⁴ Nicodemus says to Him, “How is a man able to be born, being old? Is he able to enter into the womb of his mother a second time, and to be born?” ⁵ Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless anyone be born of water and of the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and requested a murderer to be granted to you.

³⁵ but in every nation, the one fearing Him and working righteousness is acceptable to Him,

¹⁴ Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear the voice out of His mouth.

²¹ He made the One not having known sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

¹² instructing us that, having denied ungodliness and worldly passions, we should live discreetly and righteously and piously in the present age, ¹³ awaiting the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, ¹⁴ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and might purify to Himself a people specially chosen, zealous of good works.

⁸ But unto the Son: “Your throne, O God, is to the age of the age, and the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. ⁹ You have loved righteousness and have hated wickedness; because of this, God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of exultation above Your companions.”

² is he to whom also Abraham apportioned a tenth of all, first indeed being translated, “king of righteousness;” and then also, “king of Salem,” which is, “king of peace.”

²⁶ For such a high priest indeed was fitting for us, holy, innocent, undefiled, having been separated from sinners, and having become higher than the heavens,

¹⁸ Having willed it, He brought us forth by the word of truth, for us to be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the One according to His great mercy having begotten us again to a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ out from the dead,

²³ having been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, by the living and abiding word of God,

¹⁸ because Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, so that He might bring you to God, having been put to death indeed in the flesh, but having been made alive in the spirit,

⁴ through which He has given to us the precious and magnificent promises, so that through these you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the decay in the world in desire.

¹ My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you might not sin. And if anyone should sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One.

⁵ And you know that He appeared, so that He might take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.

⁷ Little children, let no one lead you astray; the one practicing righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

⁹ Anyone having been born of God does not practice sin, because His seed abides in him, and he is not able to continue sinning, because he has been born of God. ¹⁰ Through this, the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: anyone not practicing righteousness is not of God, and also the one not loving his brother.

⁷ Beloved, we should love one another, because love is from God; and everyone loving has been born from God and knows God.

¹ Everyone believing that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone loving the One having begotten Him also loves the one having been begotten from Him.

⁴ For everyone having been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory having overcome the world: our faith.

¹⁸ We know that everyone having been born of God does not continue to sin, but the One having been begotten of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.

¹¹ Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one doing good is of God; the one doing evil has not seen God.
