¹⁷ Now in this instructing, I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better, but for the worse.

³ For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Now do you desire not to fear the authority? Do the good, and you will have praise from him.

² Now I commend you that you have remembered me in all things, and you are keeping the teachings as I delivered to you.

²⁰ Therefore, of you coming together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s supper.

²² What! Have you no houses in which to eat and to drink? Or do you despise the church of God and put to shame those having nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you!

³⁴ If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that you might not come together for judgment; and I will set in order the other things as soon as I might come.

²³ Therefore if the whole church gathers together in one place and all should speak in tongues, but uninstructed ones or unbelievers come in, will not they say that you are mad?

²⁶ What then is it, brothers? When you may come together, each has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

²⁵ not forsaking the assembling together of ourselves as is the custom with some, but encouraging one another, and so much more as you see the Day drawing near.
