² ὃς (who) ἐμαρτύρησεν (testified) τὸν (to the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) τὴν (to the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), ὅσα (as much as) εἶδεν (he saw).

³² Καὶ (And) ἐμαρτύρησεν (bore witness) Ἰωάννης (John) λέγων (saying) ὅτι (-), “Τεθέαμαι (I have beheld) τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit), καταβαῖνον (descending) ὡς (as) περιστερὰν (a dove) ἐξ (out of) οὐρανοῦ (heaven), καὶ (and) ἔμεινεν (it remained) ἐπ’ (upon) αὐτόν (Him).

¹¹ ἀμὴν (Truly), ἀμὴν (truly), λέγω (I say) σοι (to you) ὅτι (that) ὃ (what) οἴδαμεν (we know) λαλοῦμεν (we speak), καὶ (and) ὃ (what) ἑωράκαμεν (we have seen) μαρτυροῦμεν (we bear witness to); καὶ (and) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (witness) ἡμῶν (of us) οὐ (not) λαμβάνετε (you people receive).

¹⁷ Ἐμαρτύρει (Continued to bear witness) οὖν (therefore) ὁ (the) ὄχλος (crowd) ὁ (-) ὢν (being) μετ’ (with) αὐτοῦ (Him) ὅτε (when) τὸν (-) Λάζαρον (Lazarus) ἐφώνησεν (He called) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) μνημείου (tomb) καὶ (and) ἤγειρεν (raised) αὐτὸν (him) ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν (the dead).

³⁵ καὶ (And) ὁ (the one) ἑωρακὼς (having seen) μεμαρτύρηκεν (has borne witness), καὶ (and) ἀληθινὴ (true) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐστιν (is) ἡ (the) μαρτυρία (testimony). καὶ (And) ἐκεῖνος (He) οἶδεν (knows) ὅτι (that) ἀληθῆ (truth) λέγει (he is speaking), ἵνα (that) καὶ (also) ὑμεῖς (you) πιστεύητε (might believe).

²⁴ Οὗτός (This) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) μαθητὴς (disciple) ὁ (-) μαρτυρῶν (bearing witness) περὶ (concerning) τούτων (these things), καὶ (and) ὁ (the one) γράψας (having written) ταῦτα (these things), καὶ (and) οἴδαμεν (we know) ὅτι (that) ἀληθὴς (true) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἡ (the) μαρτυρία (testimony) ἐστίν (is).

²⁰ οὐ (not) δυνάμεθα (are able) γὰρ (for) ἡμεῖς (we), ἃ (what) εἴδαμεν (we have seen) καὶ (and) ἠκούσαμεν (heard), μὴ (not) λαλεῖν (to speak).”

¹⁵ ὅτι (For) ἔσῃ (you will be) μάρτυς (a witness) αὐτῷ (for Him) πρὸς (to) πάντας (all) ἀνθρώπους (men) ὧν (of what) ἑώρακας (you have seen) καὶ (and) ἤκουσας (heard).

¹⁶ ἀλλὰ (But) ἀνάστηθι (rise up) καὶ (and) στῆθι (stand) ἐπὶ (on) τοὺς (the) πόδας (feet) σου (of you); εἰς (for this) τοῦτο (purpose) γὰρ (for) ὤφθην (I have appeared) σοι (to you), προχειρίσασθαί (to appoint) σε (you) ὑπηρέτην (a servant) καὶ (and) μάρτυρα (a witness) ὧν (of that which) τε (both) εἶδές (you have seen) με (of Me), ὧν (of the things in which) τε (then) ὀφθήσομαί (I will appear) σοι (to you),

⁶ καθὼς (as) τὸ (the) μαρτύριον (testimony) τοῦ (about) Χριστοῦ (Christ) ἐβεβαιώθη (was confirmed) ἐν (in) ὑμῖν (you),

¹ Κἀγὼ (And I), ἐλθὼν (having come) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you), ἀδελφοί (brothers), ἦλθον (came) οὐ (not) καθ’ (according to) ὑπεροχὴν (excellency) λόγου (of speech), ἢ (or) σοφίας (wisdom), καταγγέλλων (proclaiming) ὑμῖν (to you) τὸ (the) μαρτύριον (testimony) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

¹ Ὃ (That which) ἦν (was) ἀπ’ (from) ἀρχῆς (the beginning), ὃ (that which) ἀκηκόαμεν (we have heard), ὃ (that which) ἑωράκαμεν (we have seen) τοῖς (with the) ὀφθαλμοῖς (eyes) ἡμῶν (of us), ὃ (that which) ἐθεασάμεθα (we have gazed upon) καὶ (and) αἱ (the) χεῖρες (hands) ἡμῶν (of us) ἐψηλάφησαν (have handled), περὶ (concerning) τοῦ (the) Λόγου (Word) τῆς (-) ζωῆς (of life) —

¹⁴ καὶ (And) ἡμεῖς (we) τεθεάμεθα (have seen) καὶ (and) μαρτυροῦμεν (testify) ὅτι (that) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ἀπέσταλκεν (has sent) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son as) Σωτῆρα (Savior) τοῦ (of the) κόσμου (world).

⁷ ὅτι (For) τρεῖς (three) εἰσιν (there are) οἱ (-) μαρτυροῦντες (bearing testimony): ⁸ τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) καὶ (and) τὸ (the) ὕδωρ (water) καὶ (and) τὸ (the) αἷμα (blood)— καὶ (and) οἱ (these) τρεῖς (three) εἰς (in) τὸ (-) ἕν (one) εἰσιν (are). ⁹ Εἰ (If) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (of men) λαμβάνομεν (we receive), ἡ (the) μαρτυρία (testimony) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) μείζων (greater) ἐστίν (is). ὅτι (For) αὕτη (this) ἐστὶν (is) ἡ (the) μαρτυρία (testimony) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ὅτι (that) μεμαρτύρηκεν (He has testified) περὶ (concerning) τοῦ (the) Υἱοῦ (Son) αὐτοῦ (of Him). ¹⁰ ὁ (The one) πιστεύων (believing) εἰς (in) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἔχει (has) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) ἐν (in) αὑτῷ (himself). ὁ (The one) μὴ (not) πιστεύων (believing) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God), ψεύστην (a liar) πεποίηκεν (has made) αὐτόν (Him), ὅτι (because) οὐ (not) πεπίστευκεν (he has believed) εἰς (in) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) ἣν (that) μεμαρτύρηκεν (has testified) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) περὶ (concerning) τοῦ (the) Υἱοῦ (Son) αὐτοῦ (Him). ¹¹ Καὶ (And) αὕτη (this) ἐστὶν (is) ἡ (the) μαρτυρία (testimony), ὅτι (that) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal) ἔδωκεν (has given) «ὁ (-) Θεὸς» (God) ἡμῖν (to us), καὶ (and) αὕτη (this) ἡ (the) ζωὴ (life) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) Υἱῷ (Son) αὐτοῦ (His) ἐστιν (is).

¹² Δημητρίῳ (To Demetrius) μεμαρτύρηται (witness has been given) ὑπὸ (by) πάντων (all), καὶ (and) ὑπὸ (by) αὐτῆς (itself) τῆς (the) ἀληθείας (truth); καὶ (and) ἡμεῖς (we) δὲ (also) μαρτυροῦμεν (bear witness), καὶ (and) οἶδας (you know) ὅτι (that) ἡ (the) μαρτυρία (testimony) ἡμῶν (of us) ἀληθής (true) ἐστιν (is).

⁹ Ἐγὼ (I) Ἰωάννης (John), ὁ (the) ἀδελφὸς (brother) ὑμῶν (of you), καὶ (and) συνκοινωνὸς (fellow-partaker) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) θλίψει (tribulation) καὶ (and) βασιλείᾳ (kingdom) καὶ (and) ὑπομονῇ (endurance) ἐν (in) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), ἐγενόμην (was) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) νήσῳ (island) τῇ (-) καλουμένῃ (called) Πάτμῳ (Patmos), διὰ (on account of) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus).

¹⁹ Γράψον (Write) οὖν (therefore) ἃ (the things that) εἶδες (you have seen), καὶ (and) ἃ (the things that) εἰσὶν (are), καὶ (and) ἃ (the things that) μέλλει (are about) γενέσθαι (to take place) μετὰ (after) ταῦτα (these),

⁹ Καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) ἤνοιξεν (He opened) τὴν (the) πέμπτην (fifth) σφραγῖδα (seal), εἶδον (I saw) ὑποκάτω (under) τοῦ (the) θυσιαστηρίου (altar) τὰς (the) ψυχὰς (souls) τῶν (of those) ἐσφαγμένων (having been slain) διὰ (because of) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (and) διὰ (because of) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) ἣν (which) εἶχον (they had upheld).

¹¹ καὶ (And) αὐτοὶ (they) ἐνίκησαν (have overcome) αὐτὸν (him) διὰ (by reason) τὸ (of the) αἷμα (blood) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb), καὶ (and) διὰ (by reason of) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) τῆς (of the) μαρτυρίας (testimony) αὐτῶν (of them); καὶ (and) οὐκ (not) ἠγάπησαν (they have loved) τὴν (the) ψυχὴν (life) αὐτῶν (of them) ἄχρι (unto) θανάτου (death).

¹⁷ καὶ (And) ὠργίσθη (was angry) ὁ (the) δράκων (dragon) ἐπὶ (with) τῇ (the) γυναικί (woman), καὶ (and) ἀπῆλθεν (went) ποιῆσαι (to make) πόλεμον (war) μετὰ (with) τῶν (the) λοιπῶν (rest) τοῦ (of the) σπέρματος (children) αὐτῆς (of her) τῶν (-) τηρούντων (keeping) τὰς (the) ἐντολὰς (commandments) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) ἐχόντων (holding) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus). Καὶ (And) ἐστάθη (he stood) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) ἄμμον (sand) τῆς (of the) θαλάσσης (sea).
