⁹ καὶ (Also) γὰρ (for) ἐγὼ (I) ἄνθρωπός (a man) εἰμι (am) ὑπὸ (under) ἐξουσίαν (authority), ἔχων (having) ὑπ’ (under) ἐμαυτὸν (me) στρατιώτας (soldiers); καὶ (and) λέγω (I say) τούτῳ (to this one), ‘Πορεύθητι (Go),’ καὶ (and) πορεύεται (he goes); καὶ (and) ἄλλῳ (to another), ‘Ἔρχου (Come),’ καὶ (and) ἔρχεται (he comes); καὶ (and) τῷ (to) δούλῳ (the servant) μου (of me), ‘Ποίησον (Do) τοῦτο (this),’ καὶ (and) ποιεῖ (he does it).”

³⁹ Καὶ (And) διεγερθεὶς (having been awoken) ἐπετίμησεν (He rebuked) τῷ (the) ἀνέμῳ (wind) καὶ (and) εἶπεν (said) τῇ (to the) θαλάσσῃ (sea), “Σιώπα (Silence), πεφίμωσο (be still).” καὶ (And) ἐκόπασεν (abated) ὁ (the) ἄνεμος (wind), καὶ (and) ἐγένετο (there was) γαλήνη (a calm) μεγάλη (great). ⁴⁰ Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Τί (Why) δειλοί (fearful) ἐστε (are you)? οὔπω* (Still not) ἔχετε (have you) πίστιν (faith)?” ⁴¹ Καὶ (And) ἐφοβήθησαν (they feared) φόβον (with fear) μέγαν (great), καὶ (and) ἔλεγον (were saying) πρὸς (to) ἀλλήλους (each other), “Τίς (Who) ἄρα (then) οὗτός (this) ἐστιν (is), ὅτι (that) καὶ (even) ὁ (the) ἄνεμος (wind) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) θάλασσα (sea) ὑπακούει (obey) αὐτῷ (Him)?”

³⁵ Καὶ (And) ἐπετίμησεν (rebuked) αὐτῷ (him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), λέγων (saying), “Φιμώθητι (Be silent) καὶ (and) ἔξελθε (come forth) ἀπ’ (out of) αὐτοῦ (him)!” καὶ (And) ῥίψαν (having thrown) αὐτὸν (him) τὸ (the) δαιμόνιον (demon) εἰς (into) τὸ (the) μέσον (midst), ἐξῆλθεν (it came out) ἀπ’ (from) αὐτοῦ (him), μηδὲν (in nothing) βλάψαν (having hurt) αὐτόν (him). ³⁶ Καὶ (And) ἐγένετο (came) θάμβος (astonishment) ἐπὶ (upon) πάντας (all), καὶ (and) συνελάλουν (they were speaking) πρὸς (to) ἀλλήλους (one another), λέγοντες (saying), “Τίς (What) ὁ (-) λόγος (word) οὗτος (is this), ὅτι (that) ἐν (with) ἐξουσίᾳ (authority) καὶ (and) δυνάμει (power) ἐπιτάσσει (He commands) τοῖς (the) ἀκαθάρτοις (unclean) πνεύμασιν (spirits), καὶ (and) ἐξέρχονται (they come out)?”

³⁹ καὶ (And) ἐπιστὰς (having stood) ἐπάνω (over) αὐτῆς (her), ἐπετίμησεν (He rebuked) τῷ (the) πυρετῷ (fever), καὶ (and) ἀφῆκεν (it left) αὐτήν (her); παραχρῆμα (immediately) δὲ (then) ἀναστᾶσα (having arisen), διηκόνει (she began to serve) αὐτοῖς (them).

⁸ καὶ (Also) γὰρ (for) ἐγὼ (I) ἄνθρωπός (a man) εἰμι (am) ὑπὸ (under) ἐξουσίαν (authority) τασσόμενος (appointed), ἔχων (having) ὑπ’ (under) ἐμαυτὸν (me) στρατιώτας (soldiers); καὶ (and) λέγω (I say) τούτῳ (to this one), ‘Πορεύθητι (Go),’ καὶ (and) πορεύεται (he goes); καὶ (and) ἄλλῳ (to another), ‘Ἔρχου (Come),’ καὶ (and) ἔρχεται (he comes); καὶ (and) τῷ (to) δούλῳ (the servant) μου (of me), ‘Ποίησον (Do) τοῦτο (this),’ καὶ (and) ποιεῖ (he does it).”

⁵ Οἱ (-) δοῦλοι (Slaves), ὑπακούετε (obey) τοῖς (the) κατὰ (according to) σάρκα (flesh) κυρίοις (masters) μετὰ (with) φόβου (fear) καὶ (and) τρόμου (trembling), ἐν (in) ἁπλότητι (sincerity) τῆς (of the) καρδίας (heart) ὑμῶν (of you), ὡς (as) τῷ (to) Χριστῷ (Christ), ⁶ μὴ (not) κατ’ (with) ὀφθαλμοδουλίαν (eye-service) ὡς (as) ἀνθρωπάρεσκοι (men-pleasers), ἀλλ’ (but) ὡς (as) δοῦλοι (servants of) Χριστοῦ (Christ), ποιοῦντες (doing) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐκ (from) ψυχῆς (the heart),
