²⁴ Προσελθὼν (Having come) δὲ (then) καὶ (also) ὁ (the one) τὸ (the) ἓν (one) τάλαντον (talent) εἰληφὼς (having received), εἶπεν (he said), ‘Κύριε (Master), ἔγνων (I knew) σε (you), ὅτι (that) σκληρὸς (hard) εἶ (you are) ἄνθρωπος (a man), θερίζων (reaping) ὅπου (where) οὐκ (not) ἔσπειρας (you did sow), καὶ (and) συνάγων (gathering) ὅθεν (from where) οὐ (not) διεσκόρπισας (you did scatter).

²¹ Οὐ (Not) πᾶς (everyone) ὁ (-) λέγων (saying) μοι (to Me), ‘Κύριε (Lord), Κύριε (Lord),’ εἰσελεύσεται (will enter) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τῶν (of the) οὐρανῶν (heavens), ἀλλ’ (but) ὁ (the one) ποιῶν (doing) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me), τοῦ (who is) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) οὐρανοῖς (heavens).

¹² λέγοντες (saying), ‘Οὗτοι (These) οἱ (the) ἔσχατοι (last), μίαν (one) ὥραν (hour) ἐποίησαν (have worked), καὶ (and) ἴσους (equal) αὐτοὺς (them) ἡμῖν (to us) ἐποίησας (you have made), τοῖς (those) βαστάσασι (having borne) τὸ (the) βάρος (burden) τῆς (of the) ἡμέρας (day) καὶ (and) τὸν (the) καύσωνα (scorching heat).’

⁴⁶ Τί (Why) δέ (now) με (Me) καλεῖτε (do you call) ‘Κύριε (Lord), κύριε (Lord),’ καὶ (and) οὐ (not) ποιεῖτε (do) ἃ (what) λέγω (I say)?

²⁹ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering), εἶπεν (he said) τῷ (to) πατρὶ (the father) ‹αὐτοῦ› (of him), ‘Ἰδοὺ (Behold), τοσαῦτα (so many) ἔτη (years) δουλεύω (I serve) σοι (you), καὶ (and) οὐδέποτε (never) ἐντολήν (a commandment) σου (of you) παρῆλθον (I disobeyed), καὶ (and) ἐμοὶ (to me) οὐδέποτε (never) ἔδωκας (did you give) ἔριφον (a young goat), ἵνα (that) μετὰ (with) τῶν (the) φίλων (friends) μου (of me) εὐφρανθῶ (I might make merry).

²⁰ Καὶ (And) ὁ (-) ἕτερος (another) ἦλθεν (came), λέγων (saying), ‘Κύριε (Lord), ἰδοὺ (behold) ἡ (the) μνᾶ (mina) σου (of you), ἣν (which) εἶχον (I kept) ἀποκειμένην (lying away) ἐν (in) σουδαρίῳ (a piece of cloth). ²¹ ἐφοβούμην (I was afraid) γάρ (for) σε (of you), ὅτι (because) ἄνθρωπος (a man) αὐστηρὸς (harsh) εἶ (you are). αἴρεις (You take up) ὃ (what) οὐκ (not) ἔθηκας (you did lay down), καὶ (and) θερίζεις (you reap) ὃ (what) οὐκ (not) ἔσπειρας (you did sow).’ ²² Λέγει (He says) αὐτῷ (to him), ‘Ἐκ (Out of) τοῦ (the) στόματός (mouth) σου (of you) κρίνω (I will judge) σε (you), πονηρὲ (evil) δοῦλε (servant). ᾔδεις (You knew) ὅτι (that) ἐγὼ (I) ἄνθρωπος (a man) αὐστηρός (harsh) εἰμι (am), αἴρων (taking up) ὃ (what) οὐκ (not) ἔθηκα (I did lay down) καὶ (and) θερίζων (reaping) ὃ (what) οὐκ (not) ἔσπειρα (I did sow)?

⁷ διότι (because) τὸ (the) φρόνημα (mind) τῆς (of the) σαρκὸς (flesh) ἔχθρα (is hostility) εἰς (toward) Θεόν (God); τῷ (to) γὰρ (for) νόμῳ (the law) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) οὐχ (not) ὑποτάσσεται (it is subject), οὐδὲ (nor even) γὰρ (for) δύναται (can it be).

²⁰ ὦ (O) ἄνθρωπε (man), μενοῦνγε (but rather), σὺ (you) τίς (who) εἶ (are) ὁ (-) ἀνταποκρινόμενος (answering against) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God)? μὴ (Not) ἐρεῖ (will say) τὸ (the) πλάσμα (thing formed) τῷ (to the One) πλάσαντι (having formed it), “Τί (Why) με (me) ἐποίησας (have you made) οὕτως (like this)?”
