²⁷ Καὶ (And) εἰ (if) ἐγὼ (I) ἐν (by) Βεελζεβοὺλ (Beelzebul) ἐκβάλλω (cast out) τὰ (-) δαιμόνια (demons), οἱ (the) υἱοὶ (sons) ὑμῶν (of you) ἐν (by) τίνι (whom) ἐκβάλλουσιν (do they cast out)? διὰ (On account of) τοῦτο (this), αὐτοὶ (they) κριταὶ (judges) ἔσονται (will be) ὑμῶν (of you).

⁴¹ Ἄνδρες (The men) Νινευῖται (of Nineveh) ἀναστήσονται (will stand up) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) κρίσει (judgment) μετὰ (with) τῆς (the) γενεᾶς (generation) ταύτης (this), καὶ (and) κατακρινοῦσιν (will condemn) αὐτήν (it); ὅτι (for) μετενόησαν (they repented) εἰς (at) τὸ (the) κήρυγμα (preaching) Ἰωνᾶ (of Jonah); καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold), πλεῖον (greater) Ἰωνᾶ (than Jonah) ὧδε (here). ⁴² βασίλισσα (The queen) νότου (of the south) ἐγερθήσεται (will rise up) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) κρίσει (judgment) μετὰ (with) τῆς (the) γενεᾶς (generation) ταύτης (this), καὶ (and) κατακρινεῖ (will condemn) αὐτήν (it); ὅτι (for) ἦλθεν (she came) ἐκ (from) τῶν (the) περάτων (ends) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth) ἀκοῦσαι (to hear) τὴν (the) σοφίαν (wisdom) Σολομῶνος (of Solomon), καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold), πλεῖον (greater) Σολομῶνος (than Solomon) ὧδε (here).

³⁸ Ἔφη (Answered) αὐτῷ (Him) ὁ (-) Ἰωάννης (John), “Διδάσκαλε (Teacher), εἴδομέν (we saw) τινα (someone) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) σου (of You) ἐκβάλλοντα (casting out) δαιμόνια (demons), 〈ὃς (who) οὐκ (not) ἀκολουθεῖ (does follow) ἡμῖν〉 (us), καὶ (and) ἐκωλύομεν (we were forbidding) αὐτόν (him), ὅτι (because) οὐκ (not) ἠκολούθει (he was following) ἡμῖν (us).” ³⁹ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said), “Μὴ (Not) κωλύετε (forbid) αὐτόν (him). οὐδεὶς (No one) γάρ (for) ἐστιν (there is) ὃς (who) ποιήσει (will do) δύναμιν (a work of power) ἐπὶ (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) μου (of Me), καὶ (and) δυνήσεται (will be able) ταχὺ (readily) κακολογῆσαί (to speak evil of) με (Me).

⁴⁹ Ἀποκριθεὶς (Answering) δὲ (now), 〈ὁ〉 (-) Ἰωάννης (John) εἶπεν (said), “Ἐπιστάτα (Master), εἴδομέν (we saw) τινα (someone) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) σου (of You) ἐκβάλλοντα (casting out) δαιμόνια (demons), καὶ (and) ἐκωλύομεν (we were forbidding) αὐτὸν (him), ὅτι (because) οὐκ (not) ἀκολουθεῖ (he follows) μεθ’ (with) ἡμῶν (us).” ⁵⁰ Εἶπεν (Said) δὲ (then) πρὸς (to) αὐτὸν (him) ‹ὁ› (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Μὴ (Not) κωλύετε (forbid); ὃς (whoever) γὰρ (for) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) καθ’ (against) ὑμῶν (you), ὑπὲρ (for) ὑμῶν (you) ἐστιν (is).”

¹⁹ εἰ (If) δὲ (now) ἐγὼ (I) ἐν (by) Βεελζεβοὺλ (Beelzebul) ἐκβάλλω (cast out) τὰ (the) δαιμόνια (demons), οἱ (the) υἱοὶ (sons) ὑμῶν (of you), ἐν (by) τίνι (whom) ἐκβάλλουσιν (do they cast out)? διὰ (On account of) τοῦτο (this), αὐτοὶ (they) ὑμῶν (of you) κριταὶ (judges) ἔσονται (will be).

²² Λέγει (He says) αὐτῷ (to him), ‘Ἐκ (Out of) τοῦ (the) στόματός (mouth) σου (of you) κρίνω (I will judge) σε (you), πονηρὲ (evil) δοῦλε (servant). ᾔδεις (You knew) ὅτι (that) ἐγὼ (I) ἄνθρωπος (a man) αὐστηρός (harsh) εἰμι (am), αἴρων (taking up) ὃ (what) οὐκ (not) ἔθηκα (I did lay down) καὶ (and) θερίζων (reaping) ὃ (what) οὐκ (not) ἔσπειρα (I did sow)?

¹³ Ἐπεχείρησαν (Attempted) δέ (now) τινες (some of) καὶ (also) τῶν (of the) περιερχομένων (itinerant) Ἰουδαίων (Jews), ἐξορκιστῶν (exorcists), ὀνομάζειν (to invoke) ἐπὶ (over) τοὺς (those) ἔχοντας (having) τὰ (-) πνεύματα (spirits) τὰ (-) πονηρὰ (evil) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), λέγοντες (saying), “Ὁρκίζω (I adjure) ὑμᾶς (you) τὸν (by) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) ὃν (whom) Παῦλος (Paul) κηρύσσει (proclaims).” ¹⁴ ἦσαν (They were) δέ (now) τινος (certain) Σκευᾶ (of Sceva), Ἰουδαίου (a Jew), ἀρχιερέως (a high priest), ἑπτὰ (seven) υἱοὶ (sons), τοῦτο (this) ποιοῦντες (were doing). ¹⁵ ἀποκριθὲν (Answering) δὲ (however), τὸ (the) πνεῦμα (spirit) τὸ (-) πονηρὸν (evil) εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them) Τὸν (-), “[Μὲν] (-) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) γινώσκω (I know), καὶ (and) τὸν (-) Παῦλον (Paul) ἐπίσταμαι (I am acquainted with); ὑμεῖς (you) δὲ (however), τίνες (who) ἐστέ (are you)?” ¹⁶ καὶ (And) ἐφαλόμενος (having leapt) ὁ (the) ἄνθρωπος (man) ἐπ’ (on) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐν (in) ᾧ (whom) ἦν (was) τὸ (the) πνεῦμα (spirit) τὸ (-) πονηρὸν (evil), κατακυριεύσας (having overpowered) ἀμφοτέρων (them all), ἴσχυσεν (he prevailed) κατ’ (against) αὐτῶν (them) ὥστε (so that) γυμνοὺς (naked) καὶ (and) τετραυματισμένους (wounded) ἐκφυγεῖν (they fled) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) οἴκου (house) ἐκείνου (that).

¹⁹ Οἴδαμεν (We know) δὲ (now) ὅτι (that) ὅσα (whatever) ὁ (the) νόμος (law) λέγει (says), τοῖς (to those) ἐν (under) τῷ (the) νόμῳ (law) λαλεῖ (it speaks), ἵνα (so that) πᾶν (every) στόμα (mouth) φραγῇ (may be stopped), καὶ (and) ὑπόδικος (under judgment) γένηται (may be) πᾶς (all) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (to God).
