³³ ὅστις (Whoever) δ’ (now) ἂν (-) ἀρνήσηταί (shall deny) με (Me) ἔμπροσθεν (before) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (men), ἀρνήσομαι (will deny) κἀγὼ (I also) αὐτὸν (him) ἔμπροσθεν (before) τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me) τοῦ (who is) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) οὐρανοῖς (heavens).

⁷⁰ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἠρνήσατο (he denied) ἔμπροσθεν (before) πάντων (all), λέγων (saying), “Οὐκ (Not) οἶδα (I know) τί (what) λέγεις (you say).” ⁷¹ Ἐξελθόντα (Having gone out) δὲ (then) εἰς (to) τὸν (the) πυλῶνα (porch), εἶδεν (saw) αὐτὸν (him) ἄλλη (another servant girl), καὶ (and) λέγει (says) τοῖς (to those) ἐκεῖ (there), “Οὗτος (This man) ἦν (was) μετὰ (with) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) τοῦ (of) Ναζωραίου (Nazareth).” ⁷² Καὶ (And) πάλιν (again) ἠρνήσατο (he denied) μετὰ (with) ὅρκου (an oath) ὅτι (-), “Οὐκ (Not) οἶδα (I know) τὸν (the) ἄνθρωπον (man).” ⁷³ Μετὰ (After) μικρὸν (a little while), δὲ (also) προσελθόντες (having come to him) οἱ (those) ἑστῶτες (standing by), εἶπον (they said) τῷ (-) Πέτρῳ (to Peter), “Ἀληθῶς (Surely) καὶ (also) σὺ (you) ἐξ (of) αὐτῶν (them) εἶ (are), καὶ (even) γὰρ (for) ἡ (the) λαλιά (speech) σου (of you) δῆλόν (away) σε (you) ποιεῖ (gives).” ⁷⁴ Τότε (Then) ἤρξατο (he began) καταθεματίζειν (to curse) καὶ (and) ὀμνύειν (to swear) ὅτι (-), “Οὐκ (Not) οἶδα (I know) τὸν (the) ἄνθρωπον (man)!” Καὶ (And) εὐθέως* (immediately) ἀλέκτωρ (a rooster) ἐφώνησεν (crowed). ⁷⁵ Καὶ (And) ἐμνήσθη (remembered) ὁ (-) Πέτρος (Peter) τοῦ (the) ῥήματος (word) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus), εἰρηκότος (He having said) ὅτι (-), “Πρὶν (Before the) ἀλέκτορα (rooster) φωνῆσαι (crowing), τρὶς (three times) ἀπαρνήσῃ (you will deny) με (Me).” καὶ (And) ἐξελθὼν (having gone) ἔξω (out), ἔκλαυσεν (he wept) πικρῶς (bitterly).

³⁸ ὃς (Whoever) γὰρ (for) ἐὰν (if) ἐπαισχυνθῇ (may be ashamed of) με (Me) καὶ (and) τοὺς (-) ἐμοὺς (My) λόγους (words) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) γενεᾷ (generation) ταύτῃ (this) τῇ (-) μοιχαλίδι (adulterous) καὶ (and) ἁμαρτωλῷ (sinful), καὶ (also) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐπαισχυνθήσεται (will be ashamed of) αὐτὸν (him) ὅταν (when) ἔλθῃ (He shall come) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) δόξῃ (glory) τοῦ (of the) Πατρὸς (Father) αὐτοῦ (of Him), μετὰ (with) τῶν (the) ἀγγέλων (angels) τῶν (-) ἁγίων (holy).”

³⁰ Καὶ (And) λέγει (says) αὐτῷ (to him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) σοι (to you) ὅτι (that) σὺ (yourself) σήμερον (now) ταύτῃ (this) τῇ (-) νυκτὶ (night), πρὶν (before) ἢ (that) δὶς (twice) ἀλέκτορα (the rooster) φωνῆσαι (crows), τρίς (three times) με (Me) ἀπαρνήσῃ (you will deny).”

⁷² καὶ (And) εὐθὺς (immediately) ἐκ (for) δευτέρου (the second time) ἀλέκτωρ (a rooster) ἐφώνησεν (crowed). Καὶ (And) ἀνεμνήσθη (remembered) ὁ (-) Πέτρος (Peter) τὸ (the) ῥῆμα (word) ὡς (that) εἶπεν (had said) αὐτῷ (to him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ὅτι (-), “Πρὶν (Before) ἀλέκτορα (the rooster) δὶς (twice) φωνῆσαι (crows), τρίς (three times) με (Me) ἀπαρνήσῃ (you will deny).” καὶ (And) ἐπιβαλὼν (having broken down), ἔκλαιεν (he began to weep).

²⁶ ὃς (Whoever) γὰρ (for) ἂν (-) ἐπαισχυνθῇ (may have been ashamed of) με (Me) καὶ (and) τοὺς (-) ἐμοὺς (My) λόγους (words), τοῦτον (him) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐπαισχυνθήσεται (will be ashamed of) ὅταν (when) ἔλθῃ (He shall come) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) δόξῃ (glory) αὐτοῦ (of Himself), καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Πατρὸς (Father), καὶ (and) τῶν (of the) ἁγίων (holy) ἀγγέλων (angels).

⁹ ὁ (the one) δὲ (now) ἀρνησάμενός (having denied) με (Me) ἐνώπιον (before) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (men), ἀπαρνηθήσεται (will be denied) ἐνώπιον (before) τῶν (the) ἀγγέλων (angels) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

¹² εἰ (if) ὑπομένομεν (we endure), καὶ (also) συμβασιλεύσομεν* (we will reign together with Him); εἰ (if) ἀρνησόμεθα (we will deny Him), κἀκεῖνος (He also) ἀρνήσεται (will deny) ἡμᾶς (us);

¹ Ἐγένοντο (There were) δὲ (however) καὶ (also) ψευδοπροφῆται (false prophets) ἐν (among) τῷ (the) λαῷ (people), ὡς (as) καὶ (also) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you) ἔσονται (there will be) ψευδοδιδάσκαλοι (false teachers), οἵτινες (who) παρεισάξουσιν (will stealthily introduce) αἱρέσεις (heresies) ἀπωλείας (destructive), καὶ (even) τὸν (the) ἀγοράσαντα (having bought) αὐτοὺς (them) δεσπότην (Master) ἀρνούμενοι (denying), ἐπάγοντες (bringing upon) ἑαυτοῖς (themselves) ταχινὴν (swift) ἀπώλειαν (destruction).

²³ πᾶς (Everyone) ὁ (-) ἀρνούμενος (denying) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son), οὐδὲ (neither) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father) ἔχει (has he). ὁ (The one) ὁμολογῶν (confessing) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son), καὶ (also) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father) ἔχει (has).
