³ Καὶ (And) λέγει (He says) τῷ (to the) ἀνθρώπῳ (man) τῷ (-) τὴν (the) «χεῖρα (hand) ἔχοντι» (having) ξηράν (withered), “Ἔγειρε (Arise) εἰς (into) τὸ (the) μέσον (midst).”

⁸ Αὐτὸς (He) δὲ (now) ᾔδει (knew) τοὺς (the) διαλογισμοὺς (thoughts) αὐτῶν (of them); εἶπεν (He said) δὲ (now) τῷ (to the) ἀνδρὶ (man) τῷ (the) ξηρὰν (withered) ἔχοντι (having) τὴν (the) χεῖρα (hand), “Ἔγειρε (Arise) καὶ (and) στῆθι (stand) εἰς (in) τὸ (the) μέσον (midst).” καὶ (And) ἀναστὰς (having risen up), ἔστη (he stood).

⁴ ἡμᾶς (Us) δεῖ (it behooves) ἐργάζεσθαι (to work) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) τοῦ (of the One) πέμψαντός (having sent) με (Me), ἕως (while) ἡμέρα (day) ἐστίν (it is); ἔρχεται (is coming) νὺξ (night), ὅτε (when) οὐδεὶς (no one) δύναται (is able) ἐργάζεσθαι (to work).

⁵⁸ Ὥστε (Therefore), ἀδελφοί (brothers) μου (of me) ἀγαπητοί (beloved), ἑδραῖοι (steadfast) γίνεσθε (be), ἀμετακίνητοι (immovable), περισσεύοντες (abounding) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἔργῳ (work) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) πάντοτε (always), εἰδότες (knowing) ὅτι (that) ὁ (the) κόπος (toil) ὑμῶν (of you) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) κενὸς (in vain) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord).

⁹ Τὸ (-) δὲ (And) καλὸν (in well) ποιοῦντες (doing), μὴ (not) ἐνκακῶμεν (we should grow weary); καιρῷ (in time) γὰρ (for) ἰδίῳ (due), θερίσομεν (we will reap a harvest) μὴ (not) ἐκλυόμενοι (giving up).

¹⁴ καὶ (and) τοὺς (-) πλείονας (most) τῶν (of the) ἀδελφῶν (brothers), ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord) πεποιθότας (trusting) τοῖς (by the) δεσμοῖς (chains) μου (of me), περισσοτέρως (more abundantly) τολμᾶν (to dare) ἀφόβως (fearlessly) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) λαλεῖν (to speak).

²⁸ καὶ (and) μὴ (not) πτυρόμενοι (being frightened) ἐν (in) μηδενὶ (nothing) ὑπὸ (by) τῶν (those) ἀντικειμένων (opposing you), ἥτις (which) ἐστὶν (is) αὐτοῖς (to them) ἔνδειξις (a demonstration) ἀπωλείας (of destruction); ὑμῶν (to you) δὲ (however) σωτηρίας (of salvation), καὶ (and) τοῦτο (this) ἀπὸ (from) Θεοῦ (God). ²⁹ ὅτι (For) ὑμῖν (to you) ἐχαρίσθη (it has been granted) τὸ (-) ὑπὲρ (concerning) Χριστοῦ (Christ), οὐ (not) μόνον (only) τὸ (-) εἰς (in) αὐτὸν (Him) πιστεύειν (to believe), ἀλλὰ (but) καὶ (also) τὸ (-) ὑπὲρ (concerning) αὐτοῦ (Him) πάσχειν (to suffer), ³⁰ τὸν (the) αὐτὸν (same) ἀγῶνα (conflict) ἔχοντες (having), οἷον (such as) εἴδετε (you saw) ἐν (in) ἐμοὶ (me) καὶ (and) νῦν (now) ἀκούετε (hear of) ἐν (in) ἐμοί (me).

¹ Χριστοῦ (Christ) οὖν (therefore) παθόντος (having suffered) σαρκὶ (in the flesh), καὶ (also) ὑμεῖς (you) τὴν (the) αὐτὴν (same) ἔννοιαν (mind) ὁπλίσασθε (arm yourselves with), ὅτι (because) ὁ (the one) παθὼν (having suffered) σαρκὶ (in the flesh) πέπαυται (is done with) ἁμαρτίας (sin),
