⁵ Τούτους (These) τοὺς (-) δώδεκα (twelve) ἀπέστειλεν (sent forth) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), παραγγείλας (having instructed) αὐτοῖς (them), λέγων (saying), “Εἰς (Into) ὁδὸν (the way) ἐθνῶν (of the Gentiles) μὴ (not) ἀπέλθητε (go off), καὶ (and) εἰς (into) πόλιν (any city) Σαμαριτῶν (of the Samaritans) μὴ (not) εἰσέλθητε (enter); ⁶ πορεύεσθε (go) δὲ (however) μᾶλλον (rather) πρὸς (to) τὰ (those) πρόβατα (sheep) τὰ (-) ἀπολωλότα (being lost) οἴκου (of the house) Ἰσραήλ (of Israel).

¹⁹ πορευθέντες (Having gone) οὖν (therefore), μαθητεύσατε (disciple) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations), βαπτίζοντες (baptizing) αὐτοὺς (them) εἰς (in) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) τοῦ (of the) Πατρὸς (Father), καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Υἱοῦ (Son), καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Ἁγίου (Holy) Πνεύματος (Spirit),

¹⁰ καὶ (And) εἰς (to) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations) πρῶτον (first) δεῖ (it behooves) κηρυχθῆναι (to proclaim) τὸ (the) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel).

¹⁰ καὶ (And) εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (the) ἄγγελος (angel), “Μὴ (Not) φοβεῖσθε (fear); ἰδοὺ (behold), γὰρ (for) εὐαγγελίζομαι (I bring good news) ὑμῖν (to you) χαρὰν (of joy) μεγάλην (great), ἥτις (which) ἔσται (will be) παντὶ (to all) τῷ (the) λαῷ (people). ¹¹ ὅτι (For) ἐτέχθη (has been born) ὑμῖν (to you) σήμερον (today) Σωτήρ (a Savior), ὅς (who) ἐστιν (is) Χριστὸς (Christ) Κύριος (the Lord), ἐν (in) πόλει (the City) Δαυίδ (of David).

³¹ ὃ (which) ἡτοίμασας (You have prepared) κατὰ (before) πρόσωπον (the face) πάντων (of all) τῶν (the) λαῶν (peoples), ³² φῶς (a light) εἰς (for) ἀποκάλυψιν (revelation) ἐθνῶν (of the Gentiles), καὶ (and) δόξαν (glory) λαοῦ (of the people) σου (of You), Ἰσραήλ (Israel).”

²¹ Καὶ (And) παραγενόμενος (having come), ὁ (the) δοῦλος (servant) ἀπήγγειλεν (reported) τῷ (to the) κυρίῳ (master) αὐτοῦ (of him) ταῦτα (these things). τότε (Then) ὀργισθεὶς (having become angry), ὁ (the) οἰκοδεσπότης (master of the house) εἶπεν (said) τῷ (to) δούλῳ (servant) αὐτοῦ (of him), ‘Ἔξελθε (Go out) ταχέως (quickly) εἰς (into) τὰς (the) πλατείας (streets) καὶ (and) ῥύμας (lanes) τῆς (of the) πόλεως (city), καὶ (and) τοὺς (the) πτωχοὺς (poor) καὶ (and) ἀναπείρους (crippled) καὶ (and) τυφλοὺς (blind) καὶ (and) χωλοὺς (lame) εἰσάγαγε (bring in) ὧδε (here).’ ²² Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (said) ὁ (the) δοῦλος (servant), ‘Κύριε (Sir), γέγονεν (it has been done) ὃ (as) ἐπέταξας (you did command), καὶ (and) ἔτι (still) τόπος (room) ἐστίν (there is).’ ²³ Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (said) ὁ (the) κύριος (master) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) δοῦλον (servant), ‘Ἔξελθε (Go out) εἰς (into) τὰς (the) ὁδοὺς (highways) καὶ (and) φραγμοὺς (hedges) καὶ (and) ἀνάγκασον (compel them) εἰσελθεῖν (to come in), ἵνα (so that) γεμισθῇ (may be filled) μου (of me) ὁ (the) οἶκος (house).

⁴⁷ καὶ (and) κηρυχθῆναι (to be proclaimed) ἐπὶ (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματι (name) αὐτοῦ (of Him) μετάνοιαν (repentance) εἰς (and) ἄφεσιν (forgiveness) ἁμαρτιῶν (of sins) εἰς (to) πάντα (all) τὰ (-) ἔθνη (nations), ἀρξάμενοι (having begun) ἀπὸ (from) Ἰερουσαλήμ (Jerusalem). ⁴⁸ ὑμεῖς (You) ‹ἐστε› (are) μάρτυρες (witnesses) τούτων (of these things).

¹⁶ οὐχ (Not) ὑμεῖς (you) με (Me) ἐξελέξασθε (chose), ἀλλ’ (but) ἐγὼ (I) ἐξελεξάμην (chose) ὑμᾶς (you), καὶ (and) ἔθηκα (appointed) ὑμᾶς (you) ἵνα (that) ὑμεῖς (you) ὑπάγητε (should go) καὶ (and) καρπὸν (fruit) φέρητε (you should bear), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) καρπὸς (fruit) ὑμῶν (of you) μένῃ (should remain); ἵνα (so that) ὅ¦τι (whatever) ἂν (-) αἰτήσητε (you might ask) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) μου (of Me), δῷ (He may give) ὑμῖν (you).

²¹ Εἶπεν (Said) οὖν (therefore) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) πάλιν (again), “Εἰρήνη (Peace) ὑμῖν (to you); καθὼς (as) ἀπέσταλκέν (has sent forth) με (me) ὁ (the) Πατήρ (Father), κἀγὼ (I also) πέμπω (send) ὑμᾶς (you).”

⁸ ἀλλὰ (But) λήμψεσθε (you will receive) δύναμιν (power), ἐπελθόντος (having come) τοῦ (the) Ἁγίου (Holy) Πνεύματος (Spirit) ἐφ’ (upon) ὑμᾶς (you), καὶ (and) ἔσεσθέ (you will be) μου (for Me) μάρτυρες (witnesses), ἔν (in) τε (both) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) πάσῃ (all) τῇ (-) Ἰουδαίᾳ (Judea), καὶ (and) Σαμαρείᾳ (Samaria), καὶ (and) ἕως (to) ἐσχάτου (the uttermost part) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth).”

¹⁸ Ἀλλὰ (But) λέγω (I ask), μὴ (no) οὐκ (not) ἤκουσαν (did they hear)? μενοῦνγε (Indeed): “Εἰς (Into) πᾶσαν (all) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth) ἐξῆλθεν (has gone out) ὁ (the) φθόγγος (voice) αὐτῶν (of them); καὶ (and) εἰς (to) τὰ (the) πέρατα (ends) τῆς (of the) οἰκουμένης (world), τὰ (the) ῥήματα (words) αὐτῶν (of them).”

²⁶ φανερωθέντος (having been made manifest) δὲ (however) νῦν (now), διά (through) τε (also) γραφῶν (Scriptures) προφητικῶν (prophetic), κατ’ (according to) ἐπιταγὴν (the commandment) τοῦ (of the) αἰωνίου (Eternal) Θεοῦ (God), εἰς (unto the) ὑπακοὴν (obedience) πίστεως (of faith) — εἰς (to) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (Gentiles) γνωρισθέντος (having been made known) —

¹⁷ Καὶ (And) ἐλθὼν (having come), εὐηγγελίσατο (He proclaimed the gospel): εἰρήνην (peace) ὑμῖν (to you), τοῖς (the ones) μακρὰν (far off), καὶ (and) εἰρήνην (peace) τοῖς (to those) ἐγγύς (near).

⁶ τοῦ (the one) παρόντος (being present) εἰς (unto) ὑμᾶς (you), καθὼς (just as) καὶ (also) ἐν (in) παντὶ (all) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world) ἐστὶν (it is) καρποφορούμενον (bearing fruit) καὶ (and) αὐξανόμενον (increasing), καθὼς (just as) καὶ (also) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you), ἀφ’ (from) ἧς (the) ἡμέρας (day) ἠκούσατε (you heard) καὶ (and) ἐπέγνωτε (knew) τὴν (the) χάριν (grace) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐν (in) ἀληθείᾳ (truth),

²³ εἴ (if) γε (indeed) ἐπιμένετε (you continue) τῇ (-) πίστει (in the faith), τεθεμελιωμένοι (established) καὶ (and) ἑδραῖοι (firm), καὶ (and) μὴ (not) μετακινούμενοι (being moved away) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) ἐλπίδος (hope) τοῦ (of the) εὐαγγελίου (gospel) οὗ (that) ἠκούσατε (you have heard), τοῦ (-) κηρυχθέντος (having been proclaimed) ἐν (in) πάσῃ (all) κτίσει (creation) τῇ (-) ὑπὸ (under) τὸν (-) οὐρανόν (heaven), οὗ (of which) ἐγενόμην (have become) ἐγὼ (I) Παῦλος (Paul) διάκονος (a minister).

¹⁴ καὶ (And) ἡμεῖς (we) τεθεάμεθα (have seen) καὶ (and) μαρτυροῦμεν (testify) ὅτι (that) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ἀπέσταλκεν (has sent) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son as) Σωτῆρα (Savior) τοῦ (of the) κόσμου (world).

⁶ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἄλλον (another) ἄγγελον (angel) πετόμενον (flying) ἐν (in) μεσουρανήματι (mid-heaven), ἔχοντα (having) εὐαγγέλιον (the glad tidings) αἰώνιον (everlasting) εὐαγγελίσαι (to preach) ἐπὶ (upon) τοὺς (those) καθημένους (dwelling) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) πᾶν (every) ἔθνος (nation) καὶ (and) φυλὴν (tribe) καὶ (and) γλῶσσαν (tongue) καὶ (and) λαόν (people),
