⁶ πολλοὶ (Many) ἐλεύσονται (will come) ἐπὶ (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) μου (of Me), λέγοντες (saying) ὅτι (-), ‘Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am He),’ καὶ (and) πολλοὺς (many) πλανήσουσιν (they will mislead).

⁵ πολλοὶ (Many) γὰρ (for) ἐλεύσονται (will come) ἐπὶ (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) μου (of Me), λέγοντες (saying), ‘Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am) ὁ (the) Χριστός (Christ),’ καὶ (and) πολλοὺς (many) πλανήσουσιν (they will mislead).

¹¹ καὶ (and) πολλοὶ (many) ψευδοπροφῆται (false prophets) ἐγερθήσονται (will arise) καὶ (and) πλανήσουσιν (will mislead) πολλούς (many).

²³ Τότε (Then) ἐάν (if) τις (anyone) ὑμῖν (to you) εἴπῃ (says), ‘Ἰδοὺ (Behold), ὧδε (here is) ὁ (the) Χριστός (Christ),’ ἤ (or) ‘Ὧδε (Here),’ μὴ (not) πιστεύσητε (believe it). ²⁴ ἐγερθήσονται (There will arise) γὰρ (for) ψευδόχριστοι (false Christs) καὶ (and) ψευδοπροφῆται (false prophets), καὶ (and) δώσουσιν (they will give) σημεῖα (signs) μεγάλα (great), καὶ (and) τέρατα (wonders), ὥστε (so as) πλανῆσαι (to mislead), εἰ (if) δυνατὸν (possible), καὶ (even) τοὺς (the) ἐκλεκτούς (elect).

²² ἐγερθήσονται (There will arise) γὰρ* (for) ψευδόχριστοι (false Christs) καὶ (and) ψευδοπροφῆται (false prophets), καὶ (and) δώσουσιν* (will give) σημεῖα (signs) καὶ (and) τέρατα (wonders), πρὸς (so as) τὸ (-) ἀποπλανᾶν (to deceive) εἰ (if) δυνατὸν (possible), τοὺς (the) ἐκλεκτούς (elect).

⁴³ ἐγὼ (I) ἐλήλυθα (have come) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματι (name) τοῦ (of the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me), καὶ (and) οὐ (not) λαμβάνετέ (you receive) με (Me); ἐὰν (if) ἄλλος (another) ἔλθῃ (should come) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματι (name) τῷ (the) ἰδίῳ (own), ἐκεῖνον (him) λήμψεσθε (you will receive).

²⁴ εἶπον (I said) οὖν (therefore) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) ἀποθανεῖσθε (you will die) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) ἁμαρτίαις (sins) ὑμῶν (of you); ἐὰν (if) γὰρ (for) μὴ (not) πιστεύσητε (you believe) ὅτι (that) ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am He), ἀποθανεῖσθε (you will die) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) ἁμαρτίαις (sins) ὑμῶν (of you).”

³⁶ πρὸ (Before) γὰρ (for) τούτων (these) τῶν (-) ἡμερῶν (days) ἀνέστη (rose up) Θευδᾶς (Theudas), λέγων (affirming) εἶναί (to be) τινα (somebody) ἑαυτόν (himself), ᾧ (to whom) προσεκλίθη (were joined) ἀνδρῶν (of men) ἀριθμὸς (number) ὡς (about) τετρακοσίων (four hundred), ὃς (who) ἀνῃρέθη (was put to death), καὶ (and) πάντες (all), ὅσοι (as many as) ἐπείθοντο (were persuaded) αὐτῷ (by him), διελύθησαν (were dispersed), καὶ (and) ἐγένοντο (it came) εἰς (to) οὐδέν (nothing). ³⁷ μετὰ (After) τοῦτον (this man) ἀνέστη (rose up) Ἰούδας (Judas) ὁ (the) Γαλιλαῖος (Galilean) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) ἡμέραις (days) τῆς (of the) ἀπογραφῆς (registration) καὶ (and) ἀπέστησεν (drew away) λαὸν (people) ὀπίσω (after) αὐτοῦ (him). κἀκεῖνος (And he) ἀπώλετο (perished), καὶ (and) πάντες (all) ὅσοι (as many as) ἐπείθοντο (were persuaded) αὐτῷ (by him), διεσκορπίσθησαν (were scattered). ³⁸ Καὶ (And) τὰ (-) νῦν (now) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ἀπόστητε (withdraw) ἀπὸ (from) τῶν (the) ἀνθρώπων (men) τούτων (these), καὶ (and) ἄφετε (let alone) αὐτούς (them), ὅτι (for) ἐὰν (if) ᾖ (be) ἐξ (from) ἀνθρώπων (men), ἡ (the) βουλὴ (plan) αὕτη (this) ἢ (or) τὸ (the) ἔργον (work) τοῦτο (this), καταλυθήσεται (it will be overthrown); ³⁹ εἰ (if) δὲ (however) ἐκ (from) Θεοῦ (God) ἐστιν (it is), οὐ (not) δυνήσεσθε (you will be able) καταλῦσαι (to overthrow) αὐτούς (them), μή‿ (lest) ποτε (ever) καὶ (also) θεομάχοι (fighting against God) εὑρεθῆτε (You would be found).”

¹ Ἀγαπητοί (Beloved), μὴ (not) παντὶ (every) πνεύματι (spirit) πιστεύετε (believe), ἀλλὰ (but) δοκιμάζετε (test) τὰ (the) πνεύματα (spirits), εἰ (whether) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) ἐστιν (they are), ὅτι (because) πολλοὶ (many) ψευδοπροφῆται (false prophets) ἐξεληλύθασιν (have gone out) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world).
