²¹ Ὥσπερ (Even as) γὰρ (for) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ἐγείρει (raises up) τοὺς (the) νεκροὺς (dead) καὶ (and) ζωοποιεῖ (gives life), οὕτως (thus) καὶ (also) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) οὓς (to whom) θέλει (He will), ζωοποιεῖ (gives life).

¹⁴ Καὶ (And) προσελθὼν (having come up), ἥψατο (He touched) τῆς (the) σοροῦ (bier); οἱ (those) δὲ (then) βαστάζοντες (bearing it) ἔστησαν (stopped). καὶ (And) εἶπεν (He said), “Νεανίσκε (Young man), σοὶ (to you) λέγω (I say), ἐγέρθητι (Arise)!” ¹⁵ καὶ (And) ἀνεκάθισεν (sat up) ὁ (the) νεκρὸς (dead man), καὶ (and) ἤρξατο (began) λαλεῖν (to speak), καὶ (and) ἔδωκεν (He gave) αὐτὸν (him) τῇ (to the) μητρὶ (mother) αὐτοῦ (of him).

⁵⁴ Αὐτὸς (He) δὲ (now), κρατήσας (having taken hold) τῆς (of the) χειρὸς (hand) αὐτῆς (of her), ἐφώνησεν (called out), λέγων (saying) Ἡ (-), “Παῖς (Child), ἔγειρε (arise)!” ⁵⁵ καὶ (And) ἐπέστρεψεν (returned) τὸ (the) πνεῦμα (spirit) αὐτῆς (of her), καὶ (and) ἀνέστη (she arose) παραχρῆμα (immediately); καὶ (and) διέταξεν (He directed) αὐτῇ (to her) δοθῆναι (to be given) φαγεῖν (to eat).

²⁵ Εἶπεν (Said) αὐτῇ (to her) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am) ἡ (the) ἀνάστασις (resurrection) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) ζωή (life); ὁ (the one) πιστεύων (believing) εἰς (in) ἐμὲ (Me), κἂν (even if) ἀποθάνῃ (he should die), ζήσεται (he will live);

⁴³ Καὶ (And) ταῦτα (these things) εἰπὼν (having said), φωνῇ (in a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud) ἐκραύγασεν (He cried out), “Λάζαρε (Lazarus), δεῦρο (come) ἔξω (forth).” ⁴⁴ ἐξῆλθεν (Came forth) ὁ (the one) τεθνηκὼς (having been dead), δεδεμένος (being bound) τοὺς (the) πόδας (feet) καὶ (and) τὰς (the) χεῖρας (hands) κειρίαις (with linen strips), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) ὄψις (face) αὐτοῦ (of him) σουδαρίῳ (in a headcloth) περιεδέδετο (bound about). Λέγει (Says) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Λύσατε (Unbind) αὐτὸν (him) καὶ (and) ἄφετε (allow) αὐτὸν (him) ὑπάγειν (to go).”

² καθὼς (As) ἔδωκας (You gave) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐξουσίαν (authority) πάσης (over all) σαρκός (flesh), ἵνα (so that) πᾶν (all) ὃ (whom) δέδωκας (You have given) αὐτῷ (Him), δώσῃ (He may give) αὐτοῖς (to them) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal).

⁸ τί (Why) ἄπιστον (incredible) κρίνεται (is it judged) παρ’ (by) ὑμῖν (you) εἰ (if) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) νεκροὺς (the dead) ἐγείρει (raises)?

¹⁷ καθὼς (as) γέγραπται (it has been written) ὅτι (-): “Πατέρα (A father) πολλῶν (of many) ἐθνῶν (nations) τέθεικά (I have made) σε (you).” — κατέναντι (before) οὗ (whom) ἐπίστευσεν (he believed) Θεοῦ (God), τοῦ (the One) ζωοποιοῦντος (giving life) τοὺς (to the) νεκροὺς (dead) καὶ (and) καλοῦντος (calling) τὰ (the things) μὴ (not) ὄντα (into being) ὡς (even) ὄντα (existing), ¹⁸ ὃς (who) παρ’ (against) ἐλπίδα (hope), ἐπ’ (in) ἐλπίδι (hope) ἐπίστευσεν (believed), εἰς (for) τὸ (-) γενέσθαι (to become) αὐτὸν (him) πατέρα (the father) πολλῶν (of many) ἐθνῶν (nations), κατὰ (according to) τὸ (that) εἰρημένον (having been spoken), “Οὕτως (So) ἔσται (shall be) τὸ (the) σπέρμα (offspring) σου (of you).” ¹⁹ καὶ (And) μὴ (not) ἀσθενήσας (having become weak) τῇ (in the) πίστει (faith), κατενόησεν (he considered) τὸ (-) ἑαυτοῦ (of himself) σῶμα (the body) [ἤδη] (already) νενεκρωμένον (having become dead), ἑκατονταετής (a hundred years old) που (about) ὑπάρχων (being), καὶ (and) τὴν (the) νέκρωσιν (lifelessness) τῆς (of the) μήτρας (womb) Σάρρας (of Sarah).

¹¹ εἰ (If) δὲ (now) τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) τοῦ (of the One) ἐγείραντος (having raised up) τὸν (-) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν (the dead) οἰκεῖ (dwells) ἐν (in) ὑμῖν (you), ὁ (the One) ἐγείρας (having raised up) «ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν» (the dead) Χριστὸν (Christ) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) ζωοποιήσει (will give life) καὶ (also) τὰ (to the) θνητὰ (mortal) σώματα (bodies) ὑμῶν (of you), διὰ (on account of) τοῦ (-) ἐνοικοῦντος (dwelling) αὐτοῦ (His) Πνεύματος (Spirit) ἐν (in) ὑμῖν (you).
