²⁷ ὅτι (for) οὐκ (not) ἐνκαταλείψεις (You will abandon) τὴν (the) ψυχήν (soul) μου (of me) εἰς (into) ᾅδην (Hades), οὐδὲ (nor) δώσεις (will You allow) τὸν (the) Ὅσιόν (Holy One) σου (of You) ἰδεῖν (to see) διαφθοράν (decay).

²³ Καὶ (And) σύ (you), Καφαρναούμ (Capernaum), μὴ (not) ἕως (to) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) ὑψωθήσῃ (will be exalted), ἕως (to) ᾅδου (Hades) καταβήσῃ (will be brought down)! ὅτι (For) εἰ (if) ἐν (in) Σοδόμοις (Sodom) ἐγενήθησαν (had taken place) αἱ (the) δυνάμεις (miracles) αἱ (-) γενόμεναι (having taken place) ἐν (in) σοί (you), ἔμεινεν (it would have remained) ἂν (-) μέχρι (until) τῆς (the) σήμερον (day).

²⁴ λέγων (saying), “Τί (What) ἡμῖν (to us) καὶ (and) σοί (to You), Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Ναζαρηνέ (of Nazareth)? ἦλθες (Did You come) ἀπολέσαι (to destroy) ἡμᾶς (us)? οἶδά (I know) σε (You) τίς (who) εἶ (are), ὁ (the) Ἅγιος (Holy One) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God)!”

³⁵ Καὶ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering), ὁ (the) ἄγγελος (angel) εἶπεν (said) αὐτῇ (to her), “Πνεῦμα (the Spirit) Ἅγιον (Holy) ἐπελεύσεται (will come) ἐπὶ (upon) σέ (you), καὶ (and) δύναμις (power) Ὑψίστου (of the Most High) ἐπισκιάσει (will overshadow) σοι (you); διὸ (therefore) καὶ (also) τὸ (the) γεννώμενον (being born) ἅγιον (Holy One) κληθήσεται (will be called) Υἱὸς (the Son) Θεοῦ (of God).

³⁴ “Ἔα (Ha)! τί (What) ἡμῖν (to us) καὶ (and) σοί (to You), Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), Ναζαρηνέ (of Nazareth)? ἦλθες (Are You come) ἀπολέσαι (to destroy) ἡμᾶς (us)? οἶδά (I know) σε (You) τίς (who) εἶ (are), ὁ (the) Ἅγιος (Holy One) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).”

²³ καὶ (And) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) ᾅδῃ (Hades), ἐπάρας (having lifted up) τοὺς (the) ὀφθαλμοὺς (eyes) αὐτοῦ (of him), ὑπάρχων (being) ἐν (in) βασάνοις (torment), ὁρᾷ (he sees) Ἀβραὰμ (Abraham) ἀπὸ (from) μακρόθεν (afar), καὶ (and) Λάζαρον (Lazarus) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) κόλποις (bosom) αὐτοῦ (of him).

³⁹ λέγει (Says) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἄρατε (Take away) τὸν (the) λίθον (stone).” Λέγει (Says) αὐτῷ (to Him) ἡ (the) ἀδελφὴ (sister) τοῦ (of the one) τετελευτηκότος (having died), Μάρθα (Martha), “Κύριε (Lord), ἤδη (already) ὄζει (he stinks), τεταρταῖος (four days) γάρ (for) ἐστιν (it is).”

³¹ προϊδὼν (Having foreseen), ἐλάλησεν (he spoke) περὶ (concerning) τῆς (the) ἀναστάσεως (resurrection) τοῦ (of the) Χριστοῦ (Christ), ὅτι (that) οὔτε (neither) ἐνκατελείφθη (was He abandoned) εἰς (into) ᾅδην (Hades), οὔτε (nor) ἡ (the) σὰρξ (flesh) αὐτοῦ (of Him) εἶδεν (saw) διαφθοράν (decay).

¹⁴ ὑμεῖς (You) δὲ (however) τὸν (the) Ἅγιον (Holy) καὶ (and) Δίκαιον (Righteous One) ἠρνήσασθε (denied), καὶ (and) ᾐτήσασθε (requested) ἄνδρα (a man), φονέα (a murderer), χαρισθῆναι (to be granted) ὑμῖν (to you);

²⁷ Συνήχθησαν (Were gathered together) γὰρ (for) ἐπ’ (in) ἀληθείας (truth), ἐν (in) τῇ (the) πόλει (city) ταύτῃ (this), ἐπὶ (against) τὸν (the) ἅγιον (holy) Παῖδά (servant) σου (of You) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) ὃν (whom) ἔχρισας (You anointed), Ἡρῴδης (Herod) τε (both) καὶ (and) Πόντιος (Pontius) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate), σὺν (with) ἔθνεσιν (the Gentiles) καὶ (and) λαοῖς (peoples) Ἰσραήλ (of Israel),

²⁷ οἱ (Those) γὰρ (for) κατοικοῦντες (dwelling) ἐν (in) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἄρχοντες (rulers) αὐτῶν (of them), τοῦτον (Him) ἀγνοήσαντες (not having known), καὶ (and) τὰς (the) φωνὰς (voices) τῶν (of the) προφητῶν (prophets) τὰς (that) κατὰ (on) πᾶν (every) σάββατον (Sabbath) ἀναγινωσκομένας (are being read), κρίναντες (having condemned Him) ἐπλήρωσαν (they fulfilled them). ²⁸ καὶ (And) μηδεμίαν (no) αἰτίαν (cause) θανάτου (of death) εὑρόντες (having found), ᾐτήσαντο (they begged) Πιλᾶτον (Pilate) ἀναιρεθῆναι (to put to death) αὐτόν (him). ²⁹ Ὡς (When) δὲ (then) ἐτέλεσαν (they had finished) πάντα (all) τὰ (the things) περὶ (about) αὐτοῦ (Him) γεγραμμένα (having been written), καθελόντες (having taken Him down) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) ξύλου (tree), ἔθηκαν (they put Him) εἰς (in) μνημεῖον (a tomb). ³⁰ ὁ (-) δὲ (But) Θεὸς (God) ἤγειρεν (raised) αὐτὸν (Him) ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν (the dead), ³¹ ὃς (who) ὤφθη (appeared) ἐπὶ (for) ἡμέρας (days) πλείους (many) τοῖς (to those) συναναβᾶσιν (having come up with) αὐτῷ (Him) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (-) Γαλιλαίας (Galilee) εἰς (to) Ἰερουσαλήμ (Jerusalem), οἵτινες (who) νῦν (now) εἰσιν (are) μάρτυρες (witnesses) αὐτοῦ (of Him) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) λαόν (people). ³² Καὶ (And) ἡμεῖς (we) ὑμᾶς (to you) εὐαγγελιζόμεθα (preach the gospel), τὴν (the) πρὸς (to) τοὺς (the) πατέρας (fathers) ἐπαγγελίαν (promise) γενομένην (having been made), ³³ ὅτι (that) ταύτην (this) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἐκπεπλήρωκεν (has fulfilled), τοῖς (to the) τέκνοις (children) [αὐτῶν] (of them), ἡμῶν (to us), ἀναστήσας (having raised up) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus), ὡς (as) καὶ (also) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ψαλμῷ (psalm) γέγραπται (it has been written), τῷ (the) δευτέρῳ (second): ‘Υἱός (Son) μου (of Me) εἶ (are) σύ (You), ἐγὼ (I) σήμερον (today) γεγέννηκά (have begotten) σε (you).’ ³⁴ Ὅτι (That) δὲ (then) ἀνέστησεν (He raised) αὐτὸν (Him) ἐκ (out from) νεκρῶν (the dead), μηκέτι (no more) μέλλοντα (being about) ὑποστρέφειν (to return) εἰς (to) διαφθοράν (decay), οὕτως (thus) εἴρηκεν (He spoke) ὅτι (-): ‘Δώσω (I will give) ὑμῖν (to you) τὰ (the) ὅσια (holy blessings) Δαυὶδ (of David), τὰ (the) πιστά (sure blessings).’ ³⁵ Διότι (Therefore) καὶ (also) ἐν (in) ἑτέρῳ (another) λέγει (He says): ‘Οὐ (Not) δώσεις (You will allow) τὸν (the) Ὅσιόν (Holy One) σου (of you) ἰδεῖν (to see) διαφθοράν (decay).’ ³⁶ Δαυὶδ (David) μὲν (indeed) γὰρ (for) ἰδίᾳ (in his own) γενεᾷ (generation) ὑπηρετήσας (having served) τῇ (the) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) βουλῇ (purpose), ἐκοιμήθη (fell asleep) καὶ (and) προσετέθη (was added) πρὸς (to) τοὺς (the) πατέρας (fathers) αὐτοῦ (of him), καὶ (and) εἶδεν (saw) διαφθοράν (decay). ³⁷ ὃν (The One) δὲ (however) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἤγειρεν (raised up) οὐκ (not) εἶδεν (did see) διαφθοράν (decay).

⁵² ἐν (in) ἀτόμῳ (an instant), ἐν (in) ῥιπῇ (the twinkling) ὀφθαλμοῦ (of an eye), ἐν (at) τῇ (the) ἐσχάτῃ (last) σάλπιγγι (trumpet). σαλπίσει (The trumpet will sound) γάρ (for), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) νεκροὶ (dead) ἐγερθήσονται (will be raised) ἄφθαρτοι (imperishable), καὶ (and) ἡμεῖς (we) ἀλλαγησόμεθα (will be changed).

⁵⁵ “Ποῦ (Where) σου (of you), θάνατε (O death), τὸ (the) νῖκος (victory)? ποῦ (Where) σου (of you), θάνατε (O death), τὸ (the) κέντρον (sting)?”

²⁰ Καὶ (And) ὑμεῖς (you) χρῖσμα (the anointing) ἔχετε (have) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) Ἁγίου (Holy One), καὶ (and) οἴδατε (know you) πάντες (all).

¹⁸ καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Ζῶν (Living One); καὶ (and) ἐγενόμην (I was) νεκρὸς (dead), καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold) ζῶν (living) εἰμι (I am) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages), καὶ (and) ἔχω (I have) τὰς (the) κλεῖς (keys) τοῦ (of) θανάτου (Death) καὶ (and) τοῦ (of) ᾅδου (Hades).

⁷ Καὶ (And) τῷ (to) ἀγγέλῳ (the messenger) τῆς (of the) ἐν (in) Φιλαδελφείᾳ (Philadelphia) ἐκκλησίας (church) γράψον (write): Τάδε (These things) λέγει (says) ὁ (the) ἅγιος (Holy One), ὁ (the) ἀληθινός (True One), ὁ (-) ἔχων (having) τὴν (the) κλεῖν (key) Δαυίδ (of David), ὁ (the One) ἀνοίγων (opening) καὶ (and) οὐδεὶς (no one) κλείσει (will shut), καὶ (and) κλείων (shutting) καὶ (and) οὐδεὶς (no one) ἀνοίγει (opens).

¹³ καὶ (And) ἔδωκεν (gave up) ἡ (the) θάλασσα (sea) τοὺς (the) νεκροὺς (dead) τοὺς (who were) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it); καὶ (and) ὁ (-) θάνατος (Death) καὶ (and) ὁ (-) ᾅδης (Hades) ἔδωκαν (gave up) τοὺς (the) νεκροὺς (dead) τοὺς (who were) ἐν (in) αὐτοῖς (them); καὶ (and) ἐκρίθησαν (they were judged) ἕκαστος (each of them) κατὰ (according to) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) αὐτῶν (of them).
