⁴ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἀτενίσας (having looked intently) αὐτῷ (on him), καὶ (and) ἔμφοβος (afraid) γενόμενος (having become), εἶπεν (he said), “Τί (What) ἐστιν (is it), Κύριε (Lord)?” Εἶπεν (He said) δὲ (then) αὐτῷ (to him), “Αἱ (The) προσευχαί (prayers) σου (of You) καὶ (and) αἱ (the) ἐλεημοσύναι (alms) σου (of you) ἀνέβησαν (have ascended) εἰς (as) μνημόσυνον (a memorial) ἔμπροσθεν (before) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God).

¹³ ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ὅπου (wherever) ἐὰν (if) κηρυχθῇ (shall be proclaimed) τὸ (the) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) τοῦτο (this) ἐν (in) ὅλῳ (all) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world), λαληθήσεται (will be spoken of) καὶ (also) ὃ (that which) ἐποίησεν (did) αὕτη (this woman), εἰς (for) μνημόσυνον (a memorial) αὐτῆς (of her).”

¹² καὶ (And) ἐταράχθη (was troubled) Ζαχαρίας (Zechariah) ἰδών (having seen him), καὶ (and) φόβος (fear) ἐπέπεσεν (fell) ἐπ’ (upon) αὐτόν (him). ¹³ Εἶπεν (Said) δὲ (then) πρὸς (to) αὐτὸν (him) ὁ (the) ἄγγελος (angel), “Μὴ (Not) φοβοῦ (fear), Ζαχαρία (Zechariah), διότι (because) εἰσηκούσθη (has been heard) ἡ (the) δέησίς (prayer) σου (of you), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) γυνή (wife) σου (of You) Ἐλισάβετ (Elizabeth) γεννήσει (will bear) υἱόν (a son) σοι (to you), καὶ (and) καλέσεις (you shall call) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) αὐτοῦ (of him) Ἰωάννην (John).

²⁹ Ἡ (-) δὲ (And) ἐπὶ (at) τῷ (the) λόγῳ (statement) διεταράχθη (she was troubled), καὶ (and) διελογίζετο (was pondering) ποταπὸς (what kind) εἴη (might be) ὁ (the) ἀσπασμὸς (salutation) οὗτος (this).

⁵ ἐμφόβων (Terrified) δὲ (then) γενομένων (having become) αὐτῶν (of them) καὶ (and) κλινουσῶν (bowing) τὰ (the) πρόσωπα (faces) εἰς (to) τὴν (the) γῆν (ground), εἶπαν (they said) πρὸς (to) αὐτάς (them), “Τί (Why) ζητεῖτε (seek you) τὸν (the) ζῶντα (living) μετὰ (among) τῶν (the) νεκρῶν (dead)?

⁵ Εἶπεν (He said) δέ (then), “Τίς (Who) εἶ (are You), Κύριε (Lord)?” Ὁ (-) δέ (And He said), “Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), ὃν (whom) σὺ (you) διώκεις (are persecuting). ⁶ ἀλλὰ (But) ἀνάστηθι (rise up) καὶ (and) εἴσελθε (enter) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city), καὶ (and) λαληθήσεταί (it will be told) σοι (you) ὅ (that) τί (what) σε (you) δεῖ (it behooves) ποιεῖν (to do).”

³¹ καὶ (and) φησίν (said), ‘Κορνήλιε (Cornelius), εἰσηκούσθη (has been heard) σου (your) ἡ (-) προσευχὴ (prayer), καὶ (and) αἱ (the) ἐλεημοσύναι (alms) σου (of you) ἐμνήσθησαν (have been remembered) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God).

¹⁰ Εἶπον (I said) δέ (then), ‘Τί (What) ποιήσω (shall I do), Κύριε (Lord)?’ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Κύριος (the Lord) εἶπεν (said) πρός (to) με (me), ‘Ἀναστὰς (Having risen up) πορεύου (go) εἰς (to) Δαμασκόν (Damascus), κἀκεῖ (and there) σοι (you) λαληθήσεται (it will be told) περὶ (concerning) πάντων (all things) ὧν (that) τέτακταί (it has been appointed) σοι (you) ποιῆσαι (to do).’

⁶ Μηδὲν (Nothing) μεριμνᾶτε (be anxious about), ἀλλ’ (but) ἐν (in) παντὶ (everything), τῇ (by) προσευχῇ (prayer) καὶ (and) τῇ (-) δεήσει (supplication), μετὰ (with) εὐχαριστίας (thanksgiving), τὰ (the) αἰτήματα (requests) ὑμῶν (of you) γνωριζέσθω (let be made known) πρὸς (to) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God).

¹⁸ ἀπέχω (I have) δὲ (however) πάντα (all things) καὶ (and) περισσεύω (abound); πεπλήρωμαι (I am full), δεξάμενος (having received) παρὰ (from) Ἐπαφροδίτου (Epaphroditus) τὰ (the things) παρ’ (from) ὑμῶν (you), ὀσμὴν (an odor) εὐωδίας (of a sweet smell), θυσίαν (a sacrifice) δεκτήν (acceptable), εὐάρεστον (well-pleasing) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (to God).

¹⁰ οὐ (Not) γὰρ (for) ἄδικος (unjust is) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God), ἐπιλαθέσθαι (to forget) τοῦ (the) ἔργου (work) ὑμῶν (of you) καὶ (and) τῆς (the) ἀγάπης (love) ἧς (that) ἐνεδείξασθε (you have shown) εἰς (toward) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) αὐτοῦ (of Him), διακονήσαντες (having ministered) τοῖς (to the) ἁγίοις (saints) καὶ (and) διακονοῦντες (still ministering).

¹⁶ τῆς (-) δὲ (And) εὐποιΐας (the good) καὶ (and) κοινωνίας (of sharing), μὴ (not) ἐπιλανθάνεσθε (be forgetful); τοιαύταις (with such) γὰρ (for) θυσίαις (sacrifices) εὐαρεστεῖται (is well pleased) ὁ (-) Θεός (God).

⁴ καὶ (And) ἀνέβη (went up) ὁ (the) καπνὸς (smoke) τῶν (of the) θυμιαμάτων (incense) ταῖς (with the) προσευχαῖς (prayers) τῶν (of the) ἁγίων (saints) ἐκ (out of) χειρὸς (the hand) τοῦ (of the) ἀγγέλου (angel), ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God).
