⁶ Θαρροῦντες (being confident) οὖν (therefore) πάντοτε (always) καὶ (and) εἰδότες (knowing) ὅτι (that), ἐνδημοῦντες (being at home) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) σώματι (body), ἐκδημοῦμεν (we are absent) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (Lord);

¹ Οἴδαμεν (We know) γὰρ (for) ὅτι (that) ἐὰν (if) ἡ (-) ἐπίγειος (earthly) ἡμῶν (of us) οἰκία (house), τοῦ (the) σκήνους (tent), καταλυθῇ (should be destroyed), οἰκοδομὴν (a building) ἐκ (from) Θεοῦ (God) ἔχομεν (we have), οἰκίαν (a house) ἀχειροποίητον (not made with hands), αἰώνιον (eternal) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) οὐρανοῖς (heavens).

⁸ Θαρροῦμεν (We are confident) δὲ (now), καὶ (and) εὐδοκοῦμεν (are pleased), μᾶλλον (rather) ἐκδημῆσαι (to be absent) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) σώματος (body), καὶ (and) ἐνδημῆσαι (to be at home) πρὸς (with) τὸν (the) Κύριον (Lord).

²⁰ Ἡμῶν (Of us) γὰρ (for) τὸ (the) πολίτευμα (citizenship) ἐν (in) οὐρανοῖς (the heavens) ὑπάρχει (exists), ἐξ (from) οὗ (whence) καὶ (also) Σωτῆρα (a Savior) ἀπεκδεχόμεθα (we are awaiting), Κύριον (the Lord) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) Χριστόν (Christ), ²¹ ὃς (who) μετασχηματίσει (will transform) τὸ (the) σῶμα (body) τῆς (-) ταπεινώσεως (of humiliation) ἡμῶν (of us), σύμμορφον (conformed) τῷ (to the) σώματι (body) τῆς (of the) δόξης (glory) αὐτοῦ (of Himself), κατὰ (according to) τὴν (the) ἐνέργειαν (working) τοῦ (-) δύνασθαι (enabling) αὐτὸν (Him) καὶ (even) ὑποτάξαι (to subdue) αὑτῷ (to Himself) τὰ (-) πάντα (all things).

³⁵ Μὴ (Not) ἀποβάλητε (throw away) οὖν (therefore) τὴν (the) παρρησίαν (boldness) ὑμῶν (of you), ἥτις (which) ἔχει (has) μεγάλην (a great) μισθαποδοσίαν (reward).

¹³ Κατὰ (In) πίστιν (faith) ἀπέθανον (died) οὗτοι (these) πάντες (all), μὴ (not) κομισάμενοι (having received) τὰς (the) ἐπαγγελίας (promises), ἀλλὰ (but) πόρρωθεν (from afar) αὐτὰς (them) ἰδόντες (having seen), καὶ (and) ἀσπασάμενοι (having embraced them), καὶ (and) ὁμολογήσαντες (having confessed) ὅτι (that) ξένοι (strangers) καὶ (and) παρεπίδημοί (sojourners) εἰσιν (they are) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth).

¹⁴ οὐ (Not) γὰρ (for) ἔχομεν (we have) ὧδε (here) μένουσαν (an abiding) πόλιν (city), ἀλλὰ (but) τὴν (the) μέλλουσαν (coming one) ἐπιζητοῦμεν (we are seeking for).

¹ Πρεσβυτέρους (Elders) [τοὺς] (-) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you), παρακαλῶ (I exhort), ὁ (-) συμπρεσβύτερος (a fellow elder) καὶ (and) μάρτυς (witness) τῶν (of the) τοῦ (-) Χριστοῦ (of Christ) παθημάτων (sufferings), ὁ (who am) καὶ (also) τῆς (of the) μελλούσης (being about) ἀποκαλύπτεσθαι (to be revealed) δόξης (glory) κοινωνός (partaker):

⁹ Ἐγὼ (I) Ἰωάννης (John), ὁ (the) ἀδελφὸς (brother) ὑμῶν (of you), καὶ (and) συνκοινωνὸς (fellow-partaker) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) θλίψει (tribulation) καὶ (and) βασιλείᾳ (kingdom) καὶ (and) ὑπομονῇ (endurance) ἐν (in) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), ἐγενόμην (was) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) νήσῳ (island) τῇ (-) καλουμένῃ (called) Πάτμῳ (Patmos), διὰ (on account of) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus).
