⁷ εἰς (to) ἣν (which) τὸ (the) δωδεκάφυλον (twelve tribes) ἡμῶν (of us) ἐν (in) ἐκτενείᾳ (earnestness), νύκτα (night) καὶ (and) ἡμέραν (day), λατρεῦον (serving), ἐλπίζει (hope) καταντῆσαι (to attain); περὶ (concerning) ἧς (which) ἐλπίδος (hope) ἐγκαλοῦμαι (I am accused) ὑπὸ (by) Ἰουδαίων (the Jews), βασιλεῦ (O king).

¹⁰ πάντοτε (always) ἐπὶ (upon) τῶν (the) προσευχῶν (prayers) μου (of me) δεόμενος (imploring), εἴ (if) πως (perhaps) ἤδη (now) ποτὲ (at last) εὐοδωθήσομαι (I will make a prosperous journey) ἐν (by) τῷ (the) θελήματι (will) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ἐλθεῖν (to come) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you). ¹¹ ἐπιποθῶ (I long) γὰρ (for) ἰδεῖν (to see) ὑμᾶς (you), ἵνα (that) τι (some) μεταδῶ (I may impart) χάρισμα (gift) ὑμῖν (to you) πνευματικὸν (spiritual), εἰς (to) τὸ (the) στηριχθῆναι (strengthening) ὑμᾶς (of you), ¹² τοῦτο (that) δέ (now) ἐστιν (is), συμπαρακληθῆναι (to be encouraged together) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you), διὰ (through) τῆς (the) ἐν (among) ἀλλήλοις (one another) πίστεως (faith) ὑμῶν (of you) τε (both) καὶ (and) ἐμοῦ (of me).

³⁰ Παρακαλῶ (I exhort) δὲ (now) ὑμᾶς (you), ἀδελφοί (brothers), διὰ (by) τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) καὶ (and) διὰ (by) τῆς (the) ἀγάπης (love) τοῦ (of the) Πνεύματος (Spirit), συναγωνίσασθαί (to strive together with) μοι (me) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) προσευχαῖς (prayers) ὑπὲρ (for) ἐμοῦ (me) πρὸς (to) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God), ³¹ ἵνα (so that) ῥυσθῶ (I may be delivered) ἀπὸ (from) τῶν (those) ἀπειθούντων (refusing to be persuaded) ἐν (in) τῇ (-) Ἰουδαίᾳ (Judea), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) διακονία (service) μου (of me), ἡ (which is) εἰς (in) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem), εὐπρόσδεκτος (acceptable) τοῖς (to the) ἁγίοις (saints) γένηται (may be), ³² ἵνα (so that) ἐν (in) χαρᾷ (joy), ἐλθὼν (having come) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you) διὰ (by the) θελήματος (will) Θεοῦ (of God), συναναπαύσωμαι (I may be refreshed with) ὑμῖν (you).

¹⁵ Καὶ (And) ταύτῃ (with this) τῇ (-) πεποιθήσει (confidence) ἐβουλόμην (I was planning) πρότερον (previously) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you) ἐλθεῖν (to come), ἵνα (so that) δευτέραν (a second) χάριν (blessing of grace) σχῆτε (you might have),

²⁴ οὐχ (Not) ὅτι (that) κυριεύομεν (we lord it over) ὑμῶν (your) τῆς (-) πίστεως (faith), ἀλλὰ (but) συνεργοί (fellow workers) ἐσμεν (are) τῆς (of the) χαρᾶς (joy) ὑμῶν (with you); τῇ (in the) γὰρ (for) πίστει (faith) ἑστήκατε (you stand firm).

⁹ χαίρομεν (We rejoice) γὰρ (for) ὅταν (when) ἡμεῖς (we) ἀσθενῶμεν (might be weak), ὑμεῖς (you) δὲ (however) δυνατοὶ (strong) ἦτε (might be). τοῦτο (But this) καὶ (also): εὐχόμεθα (We pray for) τὴν (the) ὑμῶν (of you) κατάρτισιν (perfection).

¹¹ Λοιπόν (Finally), ἀδελφοί (brothers), χαίρετε (rejoice)! καταρτίζεσθε (Be perfected), παρακαλεῖσθε (be exhorted), τὸ (be of the) αὐτὸ (same) φρονεῖτε (mind), εἰρηνεύετε (be at peace). καὶ (And) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) τῆς (-) ἀγάπης (of love) καὶ (and) εἰρήνης (peace) ἔσται (will be) μεθ’ (with) ὑμῶν (you).

²⁵ Καὶ (And) τοῦτο (this) πεποιθὼς (having been persuaded of), οἶδα (I know) ὅτι (that) μενῶ (I will remain) καὶ (and) παραμενῶ (will continue with) πᾶσιν (all) ὑμῖν (of you) εἰς (for) τὴν (-) ὑμῶν (your) προκοπὴν (progress) καὶ (and) χαρὰν (joy) τῆς (of the) πίστεως (faith),

²⁸ ὃν (whom) ἡμεῖς (we) καταγγέλλομεν (preach), νουθετοῦντες (admonishing) πάντα (every) ἄνθρωπον (man) καὶ (and) διδάσκοντες (teaching) πάντα (every) ἄνθρωπον (man) ἐν (in) πάσῃ (all) σοφίᾳ (wisdom), ἵνα (so that) παραστήσωμεν (we may present) πάντα (every) ἄνθρωπον (man) τέλειον (perfect) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ).

¹² Ἀσπάζεται (Greets) ὑμᾶς (you), Ἐπαφρᾶς (Epaphras) ὁ (who is) ἐξ (one of) ὑμῶν (you), δοῦλος (a servant) Χριστοῦ (of Christ) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), πάντοτε (always) ἀγωνιζόμενος (struggling) ὑπὲρ (for) ὑμῶν (you) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) προσευχαῖς (prayers), ἵνα (so that) σταθῆτε (you may stand) τέλειοι (mature) καὶ (and) πεπληροφορημένοι (fully assured) ἐν (in) παντὶ (all) θελήματι (the will) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

¹⁷ Ἡμεῖς (We) δέ (however), ἀδελφοί (brothers), ἀπορφανισθέντες (having been bereaved) ἀφ’ (of) ὑμῶν (you) πρὸς (for) καιρὸν (the time) ὥρας (of an hour), προσώπῳ (in face), οὐ (not) καρδίᾳ (in heart), περισσοτέρως (more abundantly) ἐσπουδάσαμεν (were eager) τὸ (the) πρόσωπον (face) ὑμῶν (of you) ἰδεῖν (to see) ἐν (with) πολλῇ (great) ἐπιθυμίᾳ (desire). ¹⁸ διότι (Therefore) ἠθελήσαμεν (we wanted) ἐλθεῖν (to come) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you) — ἐγὼ (I) μὲν (indeed) Παῦλος (Paul), καὶ (both) ἅπαξ (once) καὶ (and) δίς (twice) — καὶ (and) ἐνέκοψεν (hindered) ἡμᾶς (us) ὁ (-) Σατανᾶς (Satan).

¹¹ Αὐτὸς (Himself) δὲ (now) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) καὶ (and) Πατὴρ (Father) ἡμῶν (of us), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), κατευθύναι (may direct) τὴν (the) ὁδὸν (way) ἡμῶν (of us) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you).

¹¹ Εἰς (for) ὃ (which) καὶ (also) προσευχόμεθα (we pray) πάντοτε (always) περὶ (for) ὑμῶν (you), ἵνα (that) ὑμᾶς (you) ἀξιώσῃ (He may count worthy) τῆς (of the) κλήσεως (calling) ὁ (of the) Θεὸς (God) ἡμῶν (of us), καὶ (and) πληρώσῃ (He may fulfill) πᾶσαν (every) εὐδοκίαν (good pleasure) ἀγαθωσύνης (of goodness) καὶ (and) ἔργον (work) πίστεως (of faith) ἐν (with) δυνάμει (power),

³ Χάριν (Thankful) ἔχω (I am) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (to God), ᾧ (whom) λατρεύω (I serve) ἀπὸ (from) προγόνων (my forefathers) ἐν (with) καθαρᾷ (a pure) συνειδήσει (conscience), ὡς (as) ἀδιάλειπτον (unceasingly) ἔχω (I have) τὴν (the) περὶ (of) σοῦ (you) μνείαν (remembrance) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) δεήσεσίν (prayers) μου (of me) νυκτὸς (night) καὶ (and) ἡμέρας (day),

²² Ἅμα (At the same time) δὲ (now), καὶ (also) ἑτοίμαζέ (prepare) μοι (for me) ξενίαν (a lodging); ἐλπίζω (I hope) γὰρ (for) ὅτι (that) διὰ (through) τῶν (the) προσευχῶν (prayers) ὑμῶν (of you), χαρισθήσομαι (I will be granted) ὑμῖν (to you).

⁸ καὶ (And) τὰ (the) τέσσαρα (four) ζῷα (living creatures), ἓν (one) καθ’ (for) ἓν (one) αὐτῶν (of them) ἔχων (had) ἀνὰ (respectively) πτέρυγας (wings) ἕξ (six), κυκλόθεν (all around) καὶ (and) ἔσωθεν (within) γέμουσιν (full) ὀφθαλμῶν (of eyes); καὶ (and) ἀνάπαυσιν (rest) οὐκ (not) ἔχουσιν (they have) ἡμέρας (day) καὶ (and) νυκτὸς (night), λέγοντες (saying): “Ἅγιος (Holy), ἅγιος (Holy), ἅγιος (Holy), Κύριος (Lord) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ὁ (-) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty), ὁ (the One) ἦν (having been), καὶ (and) ὁ (the One) ὢν (being), καὶ (and) ὁ (the One) ἐρχόμενος (coming).”

¹⁵ διὰ (Because of) τοῦτό (this), ‘Εἰσιν (They are) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (and) λατρεύουσιν (serve) αὐτῷ (Him) ἡμέρας (day) καὶ (and) νυκτὸς (night) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ναῷ (temple) αὐτοῦ (of Him); καὶ (and) ὁ (the One) καθήμενος (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) σκηνώσει (will tabernacle) ἐπ’ (over) αὐτούς (them).
