²¹ I find, then, this law: That, when I wish to do good, evil is present with me.

¹ And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

³⁴ Jesus answered them: Verily, verily I say to you, whoever works sin is the servant of sin.

¹² Therefore, let not sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey it;

¹⁴ For sin shall not have dominion over you; for you are not under law, but under grace.

²³ but I perceive another law in my members, at war with the law of my mind, and making me a captive to the law of sin, which is in my members.

²⁵ I thank God that I shall be delivered through Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I my self, with the mind, serve the law of God, but with the flesh, the law of sin.

² For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin, and of death.

¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the wiles of the devil: ¹² for our conflict is not with flesh and blood, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the rulers of the darkness of this world, with the wicked spirits in the heavenly regions. ¹³ Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand them in the evil day, and having overcome them all, to stand firm.
