⁶² On the morrow, which was the day after the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees came together to Pilate,

¹⁷ On the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, and said to him: Where dost thou wish that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

¹ When the morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people held a consultation against Jesus, that they might put him to death. ² And they bound him and led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

⁴² And when the evening had come, because it was the preparation, which is the eve of the sabbath,

⁴² There, then, on account of the preparation-day of the Jews, they laid Jesus, for the tomb was near.
