³ And as he was sitting upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, and said: Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age?

¹⁰ And the disciples came and said to him: "Why dost thou speak to them in parables? ¹¹ He answered, and said to them: Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it is not given.

³⁶ Then Jesus left the multitudes, and went into the house. And his disciples came to him and said: Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.

³⁹ the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels. ⁴⁰ As, therefore, the tares are collected and burned in fire, so shall it be in the end of this age.

⁴⁹ So shall it be in the end of the age: the angels shall come forth and separate the wicked from among the just,

¹² Then came his disciples and said to him: Dost thou know that the Pharisees, when they heard that saying, were offended?

¹⁹ Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said: Why were we not able to cast him out?

¹ And when they drew near to Jerusalem, and had come to Bethphage, to the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

²⁷ For as the lightning comes out from the east, and shines even to the west, so also shall the coming of the Son of man be.

³² Learn now a parable from the fig-tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. ³³ So also, when you see all these things, know that it is near at the doors.

³⁷ But as the days of Noah were, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

³⁹ and knew not, till the flood came and took them all away: so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

⁴³ But know this, That if the master of the house had known at what watch the thief comes, he would have watched, and would not have permitted his house to be broken open.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you: and lo; I am with you all the days, even to the end of the age.

³ And as he sat on the mount of Olives, opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately: ⁴ Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?

⁷ And they asked him, saying: Teacher, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when these things come to pass?

²¹ Peter seeing this one, said to Jesus: Lord, what shall this one do? ²² Jesus said to him: If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? Do you follow me.

⁷ But he said to them: It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has reserved under his own control.

¹ But, brethren, you have no need that I write to you of - the times and seasons; ² for you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night: ³ for when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as the pains of birth upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape. ⁴ But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ You are all sons of light, and sons of day: we are not of night, nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore, let us not sleep, as do others, but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunken, are drunken in the night. ⁸ But let us, who are of the day, be sober, having on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation: ⁹ for God has not appointed us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁰ who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we might live together with him. ¹¹ Wherefore, exhort one another, and edify one another, as you also do.

²⁶ for then, he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once in the end of the ages, he has appeared in order to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
