¹³ Then little children were brought to him, that he might lay his hands on them and pray. And the disciples rebuked them.

²² And Peter took him and began to rebuke him, saying: Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be to thee.

² And Jesus called a little child to him, and placed him in the midst of them, ³ and said: Verily I say to you, Unless you turn and become as little children, you can not enter the kingdom of heaven. ⁴ Whoever, therefore, humbles himself as this little child, is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. ⁵ And whoever receives one such little child on my account, receives me;

³¹ And the multitude charged them to be silent. But they cried the more, saying: Have mercy on us, Lord, son of David.

⁵⁴ And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said: Lord, is it thy will that we command fire to come down from heaven and destroy them, even as Elijah did? ⁵⁵ But he turned and rebuked them, and said: You know not of what spirit you are.
