⁵² He said to them: Therefore, every scribe that is trained for the kingdom of heaven, is like the master of a house, who brings out of his treasury things new and old.

³⁵ The good man, out of his good treasury, brings forth good things; and the evil man, out of his evil treasury, brings forth evil things.

⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants, for Jesus sake. ⁶ Because God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the person of Jesus Christ. ⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be God's and not our own.

¹⁵ but if I delay, that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth. ¹⁶ And confessedly great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in flesh, justified in spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.

¹⁶ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished for every good work. ¹⁷ :

⁹ holding fast the sure word as it is taught, that he may be able, by sound teaching, both to exhort and to convince the opposers.

⁶ Exhort the young men likewise to be sober-minded, ⁷ in all things showing yourself an example of good works; in teaching, showing incorruptness, gravity,

⁷ Beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment, which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word, which you have heard from the beginning. ⁸ Again, a new commandment I do write to you, which is true as it respects him and you; because the darkness is past, and the true light now shines.
