¹⁸ that, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the glorious riches of his inheritance in the saints,

¹⁵ For the heart of this people has become fat; and with their ears they hear heavily; and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should turn to me, and I should give them health.

⁴⁵ Then he opened their mind, that they might understand the scriptures,

¹⁴ And a certain woman, named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God, heard; whose heart the Lord opened to attend to the things that were spoken by Paul.

¹⁸ in order to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins, and an inheritance among the sanctified, by faith in me.

⁴ and patience, an approved character, and an approved character, hope; ⁵ and this hope disappoints us not; because the love of God is poured abundantly into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that is given to us.

²⁴ For we are saved by this hope; but hope that is seen is not hope; for, what any one sees, why does he also hope for it? ²⁵ But if we hope for that which we see not we wait for it with patience.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For those whom he foreknew, he predestinated to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren: ³⁰ and those whom he predestinated he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

⁴ whose unbelieving minds the god of this age has darkened, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine to them.

⁶ Because God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the person of Jesus Christ.

⁵ For we, through the Spirit which we obtain by faith, wait for the hope of righteousness.

⁷ in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the remission of sins, according to the riches of his grace,

¹¹ in him in whom we have obtained our portion, having been predestinated according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,

¹² that you were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the community of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and having no God in the world:

⁸ to me, who am by far the least of all the saints, has this grace been given, that I might preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of the Christ,

¹⁶ that he may grant to you, according to the riches of his glory, to be mightily strengthened by his Spirit in the inner man,

¹ I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called;

⁴ There is one body and one Spirit, even as you have been called in one hope of your calling;

⁸ For you were formerly darkness; but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light;

¹⁴ but one thing I do; forgetting the things which are behind, and reaching forward to those which are before, I press toward the goal, for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

⁵ in consequence of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,

²³ if you continue in the faith, founded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, have been made a minister.

¹⁵ And let the peace of God, to which you are called in one body, rule in your hearts, and be thankful.

¹² that you should walk in a manner worthy of God, who has called you to his own kingdom and glory.

⁸ But let us, who are of the day, be sober, having on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation:

¹¹ In order to which, we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of this calling, and may fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power,

¹⁶ Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, who has loved us, and given us eternal consolation and good hope through grace,

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold on eternal life, to which you have been called, and for which you confessed the good confession before many witnesses.

¹³ looking for the blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

⁷ that, being justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

⁴ For it is impossible to renew again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

³² But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings;

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his abundant mercy, has, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, regenerated us for a living hope

⁹ not repaying evil for evil, nor reviling for reviling, but, on the other hand, blessing, since you know that for this end you were called, that you might inherit blessing.

¹⁰ But may the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, confirm you.

¹ Behold, how great love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God! For this reason, the world knows us not, because it knew him not. ² Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. ³ And every one that has this hope in Him purifies himself, even as He is pure.
