⁷ but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, even that which had been hidden, which God predestined before the ages, for our glory,

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said: I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes.

³⁵ that the word might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things that have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

²⁵ Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel, even the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was concealed during the times of the ages, ²⁶ but is now made manifest, and through the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, made known among all nations for the obedience of faith,

⁴ according as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love,

⁴ so that, when you read, you can see my understanding in the mystery of the Christ,) ⁵ which, in other generations, was not made known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; ⁶ that the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in the Christ, through the gospel, ⁷ of which I was made a minister according to the gift of the grace of God which was given to me, in proportion to the energy of his power: ⁸ to me, who am by far the least of all the saints, has this grace been given, that I might preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of the Christ, ⁹ and enlighten all men with respect to the plan of the mystery, which was concealed from the ages in God, who created all things;

²⁶ the mystery which was concealed from the ages and the generations, but is now made manifest to his saints, ²⁷ to whom God would make known what is the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

⁹ who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus be fore the times of the ages,

¹¹ inquiring what things, and what time, the Spirit of Christ that was in them did signify, when it testified, before hand, the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them;

¹ The elders that are among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and a sharer in the glory that is to be revealed.

¹⁰ But may the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, confirm you.

³ As his divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the acknowledgment of him who has called us by his glorious power,

⁸ And all that dwell upon the earth will worship him, those whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.
