⁸ For to one is given, by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another, the word of knowledge, by the same Spirit;

¹¹ He answered, and said to them: Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it is not given.

³ Therefore, brethren, select from among yourselves seven men, of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business:

⁵ that you are enriched by him in every thing, in all speech, and in all knowledge,

³⁰ But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who has become to us, from God, wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;

⁶ Yet we speak wisdom among the perfect; but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are brought to nought: ⁷ but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, even that which had been hidden, which God predestined before the ages, for our glory, ⁸ which none of the rulers of this age knew; for, had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. ⁹ But, as it is written: Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and into the heart of man have not entered the things which God has prepared for them that love him. ¹⁰ But God has revealed them to us through his Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

² And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.

⁸ Love never fails; but whether there be gifts of prophecy, they shall have an end; or tongues, they shall cease; or knowledge, it shall have an end.

⁷ Now as you excel in every thing, in faith, and in speech, and in knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love for us, see that you excel in this gift also.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the acknowledgment of him, ¹⁸ that, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the glorious riches of his inheritance in the saints,
