³⁷ But they became frightened and [even] terrified, and assumed they were seeing a spirit.

²⁶ When the disciples saw Him walking on the water they became frightened, saying, “It is a spirit!” and cried out with fear. ²⁷ Just then Jesus called out to them, “Take courage and do not be afraid; it is I.”

⁴⁹ But when they saw Him walking on the water they thought it was a spirit, so shouted out, ⁵⁰ becoming [very] frightened when they saw Him. But He immediately spoke to them and said, “Take courage, and do not be afraid, it is I.”

³⁰ Then the rich man said, ‘No, forefather Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, [then] they will repent [i.e., change their hearts and lives].’
