¹² Why hast thou broken down its walls,
So that all they that pass by the way do pluck it?

⁴⁰ Thou hast broken down all his hedges;
Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin. ⁴¹ All that pass by the way rob him:
He is become a reproach to his neighbors.

⁵ And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

⁵ For before the harvest, when the blossom is over, and the flower becometh a ripening grape, he will cut off the sprigs with pruning-hooks, and the spreading branches will he take away [and] cut down. ⁶ They shall be left together unto the ravenous birds of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth; and the ravenous birds shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.

² For Jehovah restoreth the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel; for the emptiers have emptied them out, and destroyed their vine-branches.
