Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity! ² It is like the precious oil upon the head,
That ran down upon the beard,
Even Aaron's beard;
That came down upon the skirt of his garments; ³ Like the dew of Hermon,
That cometh down upon the mountains of Zion:
For there Jehovah commanded the blessing,
Even life for evermore.

⁸ And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we are brethren.

²⁴ So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said unto them, See that ye fall not out by the way.

²⁶ Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren? ²⁷ And Joab said, As God liveth, if thou hadst not spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone away, nor followed every one his brother.

I was glad when they said unto me,
Let us go unto the house of Jehovah.

⁶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
They shall prosper that love thee. ⁷ Peace be within thy walls,
And prosperity within thy palaces. ⁸ For my brethren and companions' sakes,
I will now say, Peace be within thee.

If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side,
Let Israel now say,

¹ A Song of Ascents; of David.

Jehovah, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty;
Neither do I exercise myself in great matters,
Or in things too wonderful for me.

⁶ And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

⁹ They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea.

¹³ The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and they that vex Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

³⁹ and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

³⁵ By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.}

²¹ that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me.

¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] ye be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

³ giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. ⁴ [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.

² make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; ³ [doing] nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself; ⁴ not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. ⁵ Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

¹ Let love of the brethren continue.

⁸ Finally, [be] ye all likeminded, compassionate, loving as brethren, tenderhearted, humbleminded:

¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in death. ¹⁵ Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ [My] little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth. ¹⁹ Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him:

³³ And upon the skirts of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the skirts thereof; and bells of gold between them round about:

⁷ Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.

²⁵ and thou shalt make it a holy anointing oil, a perfume compounded after the art of the perfumer: it shall be a holy anointing oil. ²⁶ And thou shalt anoint therewith the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, ²⁷ and the table and all the vessels thereof, and the candlestick and the vessels thereof, and the altar of incense, ²⁸ and the altar of burnt-offering with all the vessels thereof, and the laver and the base thereof. ²⁹ And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy. ³⁰ And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

²⁴ And they made upon the skirts of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, [and] twined [linen].

¹² And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

⁵ Let the righteous smite me, [it shall be] a kindness;
And let him reprove me, [it shall be as] oil upon the head;
Let not my head refuse it:
For even in their wickedness shall my prayer continue.

⁹ Oil and perfume rejoice the heart;
So doth the sweetness of a man's friend [that cometh] of hearty counsel.

³ Thine oils have a goodly fragrance;
Thy name is [as] oil poured forth;
Therefore do the virgins love thee.

³ Mary therefore took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.

²¹ then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three years.

⁸ And we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites that were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon unto mount Hermon; ⁹ ([which] Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir);

⁴⁸ from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, even unto mount Sion (the same is Hermon),

⁸ Jehovah will command the blessing upon thee in thy barns, and in all that thou puttest thy hand unto; and he will bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.

¹¹ and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salecah;

¹¹ Thou wilt show me the path of life:
In thy presence is fulness of joy;
In thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

⁴ He asked life of thee, thou gavest it him,
Even length of days for ever and ever.

⁸ [Yet] Jehovah will command his lovingkindness in the day-time;
And in the night his song shall be with me,
[Even] a prayer unto the God of my life.

¹² The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion;
But his favor is as dew upon the grass.

⁷ And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples as dew from Jehovah, as showers upon the grass, that tarry not for man, nor wait for the sons of men.

¹⁴ but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life.}

²⁴ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.

²⁹ and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.

⁵⁰ This is the bread which cometh down out of heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: yea and the bread which I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world.}

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

²⁵ Jesus said unto her, { I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live; ²⁶ and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Believest thou this?}

²¹ that, as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

²⁵ And this is the promise which he promised us, [even] the life eternal.

¹¹ And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

¹⁸ and the Living one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
