²⁸ Be not a witness against thy neighbor without cause;
And deceive not with thy lips.

¹⁶ Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

¹ Thou shalt not take up a false report: put not thy hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

⁹ Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who stood by the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. ¹⁰ And he inquired of Jehovah for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.

⁹ And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people: ¹⁰ and set two men, base fellows, before him, and let them bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst curse God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him to death.
¹¹ And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who dwelt in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, according as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them. ¹² They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people. ¹³ And the two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him: and the base fellows bare witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did curse God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones.

³ And Jehovah said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? for there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and turneth away from evil: and he still holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

⁷ For without cause have they hid for me their net [in] a pit;
Without cause have they digged [a pit] for my soul.

¹¹ Unrighteous witnesses rise up;
They ask me of things that I know not.

Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man?
The lovingkindness of God [endureth] continually.

⁵ A faithful witness will not lie;
But a false witness uttereth lies.

⁵ A false witness shall not be unpunished;
And he that uttereth lies shall not escape.

⁹ A false witness shall not be unpunished;
And he that uttereth lies shall perish.

²⁸ A false witness shall perish;
But the man that heareth shall speak so as to endure.

¹⁸ A man that beareth false witness against his neighbor
Is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death; ⁶⁰ and they found it not, though many false witnesses came. But afterward came two,

²³ And he said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out exceedingly, saying, Let him be crucified.

²⁵ But [this cometh to pass], that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

²⁵ Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.

⁹ lie not one to another; seeing that ye have put off the old man with his doings,

⁸ But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

¹⁵ Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie.
