¹ After these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and he manifested [himself] on this wise. ² There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the [sons] of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples. ³ Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also come with thee. They went forth, and entered into the boat; and that night they took nothing. ⁴ But when day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach: yet the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. ⁵ Jesus therefore saith unto them, Children, have ye aught to eat? They answered him, No. ⁶ And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. ⁷ That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his coat about him (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea. ⁸ But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits off), dragging the net [full] of fishes. ⁹ So when they got out upon the land, they see a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. ¹⁰ Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now taken. ¹¹ Simon Peter therefore went up, and drew the net to land, full of great fishes, a hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, the net was not rent. ¹² Jesus saith unto them, Come [and] break your fast. And none of the disciples durst inquire of him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. ¹³ Jesus cometh, and taketh the bread, and giveth them, and the fish likewise. ¹⁴ This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
¹⁵ So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He saith to him again a second time, Simon, [son] of John, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Tend my sheep. ¹⁷ He saith unto him the third time, Simon, [son] of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, { Feed my sheep. ¹⁸ Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.} ¹⁹ Now this he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me. ²⁰ Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also leaned back on his breast at the supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrayeth thee? ²¹ Peter therefore seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? ²² Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what [is that] to thee? follow thou me. ²³ This saying therefore went forth among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, that he should not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what [is that] to thee?
²⁴ This is the disciple that beareth witness of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his witness is true.
²⁵ And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that should be written.

³² But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.}

⁷ And go quickly, and tell his disciples, He is risen from the dead; and lo, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

¹⁶ But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, unto the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

⁷ But go, tell his disciples and Peter, He goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

¹² And after these things he was manifested in another form unto two of them, as they walked, on their way into the country.

¹ After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is [the sea] of Tiberias.

²³ (howbeit there came boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks):

¹⁹ When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first [day] of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you. ²⁰ And when he had said this, he showed unto them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord. ²¹ Jesus therefore said to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you. ²² And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, { Receive ye the Holy Spirit: ²³ whose soever sins ye forgive, they are forgiven unto them; whose soever [sins] ye retain, they are retained.}
²⁴ But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. ²⁵ The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.
²⁶ And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace [be] unto you. ²⁷ Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and see my hands; and reach [hither] thy hand, and put it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. ²⁸ Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. ²⁹ Jesus saith unto him, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed.

¹⁴ This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

²⁸ and Ebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Sidon;

²¹ And going on from thence he saw two other brethren, James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. ²² And they straightway left the boat and their father, and followed him.

¹⁰ and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

¹¹ This beginning of his signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

⁴⁶ He came therefore again unto Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

¹⁶ Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said unto his fellow-disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.

²⁸ Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

¹ And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell before thee is too strait for us. ² Let us go, we pray thee, unto the Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. ³ And one said, Be pleased, I pray thee, to go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. ⁴ So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down wood. ⁵ But as one was felling a beam, the axe-head fell into the water; and he cried, and said, Alas, my master! for it was borrowed. ⁶ And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he showed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither, and made the iron to swim. ⁷ And he said, Take it up to thee. So he put out his hand, and took it.

¹⁸ And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishers. ¹⁹ And he saith unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers of men. ²⁰ And they straightway left the nets, and followed him.

⁵ And Simon answered and said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing: but at thy word I will let down the nets.

¹⁰ and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. ¹¹ And when they had brought their boats to land, they left all, and followed him.

³ and because he was of the same trade, he abode with them, and they wrought; for by their trade they were tentmakers.

³⁴ Ye yourselves know that these hands ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

⁷ So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

⁶ Or I only and Barnabas, have we not a right to forbear working?

⁹ For ye remember, brethren, our labor and travail: working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.

⁷ For yourselves know how ye ought to imitate us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; ⁸ neither did we eat bread for nought at any man's hand, but in labor and travail, working night and day, that we might not burden any of you: ⁹ not because we have not the right, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you, that ye should imitate us.

¹⁵ And it came to pass, while they communed and questioned together, that Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. ¹⁶ But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

³¹ And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

¹⁴ When she had thus said, she turned herself back, and beholdeth Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

³ Trust in Jehovah, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on [his] faithfulness.

⁴¹ And while they still disbelieved for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here anything to eat? ⁴² And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish. ⁴³ And he took it, and ate before them.

¹¹ Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therein to be content. ¹² I know how to be abased, and I know also how to abound: in everything and in all things have I learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want. ¹³ I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me.

¹⁹ And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

⁵ Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.

¹³ I write unto you, fathers, because ye know him who is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the evil one. I have written unto you, little children, because ye know the Father.

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye heard that antichrist cometh, even now have there arisen many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last hour.

⁸ The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

²⁷ and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and smote upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall thereof.}

⁴ And when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. ⁵ And Simon answered and said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing: but at thy word I will let down the nets. ⁶ And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their nets were breaking; ⁷ and they beckoned unto their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

⁵ His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

⁴¹ They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added [unto them] in that day about three thousand souls.

⁴ But many of them that heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

⁶ But one hath somewhere testified, saying,
What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
Or the son of man, that thou visitest him? ⁷ Thou madest him a little lower than the angels;
Thou crownedst him with glory and honor,
And didst set him over the works of thy hands: ⁸ Thou didst put all things in subjection under his feet.
For in that he subjected all things unto him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we see not yet all things subjected to him. ⁹ But we behold him who hath been made a little lower than the angels, [even] Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for every [man].

²³ This is Jehovah's doing;
It is marvellous in our eyes.

⁷ Many waters cannot quench love,
Neither can floods drown it:
If a man would give all the substance of his house for love,
He would utterly be contemned.

²⁸ And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee upon the waters. ²⁹ And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked upon the waters to come to Jesus.

³ And if any one say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye, The Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him back hither.}

¹¹ for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.

⁴⁷ Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth little.}

²³ There was at the table reclining in Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

²⁶ When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

² She runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him.

²⁰ And when he had said this, he showed unto them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.

³⁶ Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.

³⁶ The word which he sent unto the children of Israel, preaching good tidings of peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all)—

⁴⁷ The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died;

¹ My brethren, hold not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, [the Lord] of glory, with respect of persons.

¹¹ (For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.)

⁵ And he lay down and slept under a juniper-tree; and, behold, an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. ⁶ And he looked, and, behold, there was at his head a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.

¹¹ Then the devil leaveth him; and behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

³ and if I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way; and some of them are come from far.}

²⁹ And seek not ye what ye shall eat, and what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. ³⁰ For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: but your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. ³¹ Yet seek ye his kingdom, and these things shall be added unto you.

¹⁸ Now the servants and the officers were standing [there], having made a fire of coals; for it was cold; and they were warming themselves: and Peter also was with them, standing and warming himself.

¹⁰ Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now taken.

¹³ Jesus cometh, and taketh the bread, and giveth them, and the fish likewise.

⁶ And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their nets were breaking; ⁷ and they beckoned unto their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. ⁸ But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

²⁹ And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. ³⁰ And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for, [said he], I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

³² But they understood not the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

⁴⁵ But they understood not this saying, and it was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

²⁷ And upon this came his disciples; and they marvelled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why speakest thou with her?

¹⁹ Jesus perceived that they were desirous to ask him, and he said unto them, { Do ye inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, A little while, and ye behold me not, and again a little while, and ye shall see me?

¹⁵ So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

⁴¹ not to all the people, but unto witnesses that were chosen before of God, [even] to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

²⁰ And what can David say more unto thee? for thou knowest thy servant, O Lord Jehovah.

³ Remember now, O Jehovah, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

⁷⁰ He chose David also his servant,
And took him from the sheepfolds: ⁷¹ From following the ewes that have their young he brought him,
To be the shepherd of Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. ⁷² So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart,
And guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, [and] will gently lead those that have their young.

¹⁵ And I will give you shepherds according to my heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

⁴ And I will set up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be lacking, saith Jehovah.

² Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, even to the shepherds, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the sheep? ³ Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill the fatlings; but ye feed not the sheep. ⁴ The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought back that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with rigor have ye ruled over them. ⁵ And they were scattered, because there was no shepherd; and they became food to all the beasts of the field, and were scattered. ⁶ My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my sheep were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and there was none that did search or seek [after them].
⁷ Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of Jehovah: ⁸ As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, surely forasmuch as my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the beasts of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my sheep; ⁹ therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of Jehovah: ¹⁰ Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.

³⁷ He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said unto him, { Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jonah: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven.

¹⁰ See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.

³⁴ Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: ³⁵ for I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; ³⁶ naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me. ³⁷ Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or athirst, and gave thee drink? ³⁸ And when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? ³⁹ And when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, [even] these least, ye did it unto me. ⁴¹ Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels: ⁴² for I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink; ⁴³ I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. ⁴⁴ Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? ⁴⁵ Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me.

³³ But Peter answered and said unto him, If all shall be offended in thee, I will never be offended.

³⁵ Peter saith unto him, Even if I must die with thee, [yet] will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

²⁹ But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.

³² Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

³² but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not; and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, establish thy brethren.}

⁴² He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of John: thou shalt be called Cephas (which is by interpretation, Peter).

⁴² Jesus said unto them, { If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I came forth and am come from God; for neither have I come of myself, but he sent me.

³⁷ Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee.

¹⁵ If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments. ¹⁶ And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever, ¹⁷ [even] the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you. ¹⁸ I will not leave you desolate: I come unto you. ¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world beholdeth me no more; but ye behold me: because I live, ye shall live also. ²⁰ In that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. ²¹ He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him.} ²² Judas (not Iscariot) saith unto him, Lord, what is come to pass that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, { If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. ²⁴ He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

²⁷ for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from the Father.

⁷ That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his coat about him (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea.

²⁸ Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.

¹ But him that is weak in faith receive ye, [yet] not for decision of scruples.

¹ Now we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

¹ And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, as unto babes in Christ. ² I fed you with milk, not with meat; for ye were not yet able [to bear it]: nay, not even now are ye able; ³ for ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you jealousy and strife, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk after the manner of men?

¹¹ For through thy knowledge he that is weak perisheth, the brother for whose sake Christ died.

²¹ The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand. ²² If any man loveth not the Lord, let him be anathema. Maranatha.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died; ¹⁵ and he died for all, that they that live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto him who for their sakes died and rose again.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith working through love.

¹⁴ that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

²⁴ Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ with [a love] incorruptible.

¹⁵ Be diligent in these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy progress may be manifest unto all. ¹⁶ Take heed to thyself, and to thy teaching. Continue in these things; for in doing this thou shalt save both thyself and them that hear thee.

¹³ And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

¹² Wherefore lift up the hands that hang down, and the palsied knees; ¹³ and make straight paths for your feet, that that which is lame be not turned out of the way, but rather be healed.

²⁰ Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, [even] our Lord Jesus,

⁸ whom not having seen ye love; on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

² as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;

²⁵ For ye were going astray like sheep; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

¹ The elders therefore among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: ² Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to [the will of] God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; ³ neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock. ⁴ And when the chief Shepherd shall be manifested, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.

¹⁹ We love, because he first loved us.

¹ Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

²³ And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.

⁷ For he is our God,
And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
To-day, oh that ye would hear his voice!

³ Know ye that Jehovah, he is God:
It is he that hath made us, and we are his;
We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

⁷ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith Jehovah of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered; and I will turn my hand upon the little ones.

⁶ And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Art in no wise least among the princes of Judah:
For out of thee shall come forth a governor,
Who shall be shepherd of my people Israel.

³² and before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats;

⁷² And again he denied with an oath, I know not the man.

³ And he spake unto them this parable, saying, ⁴ { What man of you, having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? ⁵ And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and his neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost. ⁷ I say unto you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, [more] than over ninety and nine righteous persons, who need no repentance.

¹⁰ For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost.}

¹¹ I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep. ¹² He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth [them]: ¹³ [he fleeth] because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. ¹⁴ I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me, ¹⁵ even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. ¹⁶ And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.

²⁶ But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep. ²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

¹⁷ The maid therefore that kept the door saith unto Peter, Art thou also [one] of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.

²⁵ Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore unto him, Art thou also [one] of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.

² Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to [the will of] God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

¹⁷ for the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them unto fountains of waters of life: and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes.

²² The Mighty One, God, Jehovah, the Mighty One, God, Jehovah, he knoweth; and Israel he shall know: if it be in rebellion, or if in trespass against Jehovah (save thou us not this day,)

¹⁸ And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? thou art come unto me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son!

¹⁷ I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, that are present here, offer willingly unto thee.

⁴ Doth not he see my ways,
And number all my steps? ⁵ If I have walked with falsehood,
And my foot hath hasted to deceit ⁶ (Let me be weighed in an even balance,
That God may know mine integrity);

⁸ Jehovah ministereth judgment to the peoples:
Judge me, O Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and to mine integrity that is in me. ⁹ Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous:
For the righteous God trieth the minds and hearts.

³ Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night;
Thou hast tried me, and findest nothing;
I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

¹⁰ I, Jehovah, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

³³ For he doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.

⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, [even] these least, ye did it unto me.

⁷³ And after a little while they that stood by came and said to Peter, Of a truth thou also art [one] of them; for thy speech maketh thee known. ⁷⁴ Then began he to curse and to swear, I know not the man. And straightway the cock crew. ⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

⁷² And straightway the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word, how that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

⁶¹ And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day thou shalt deny me thrice. ⁶² And he went out, and wept bitterly.

²⁴ But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men, ²⁵ and because he needed not that any one should bear witness concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.

⁸ For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always.}

³⁸ Jesus answereth, Wilt thou lay down thy life for me? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

¹⁵ If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.

¹⁰ If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

³⁰ Now know we that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

⁴ Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon him, went forth, and saith unto them, Whom seek ye?

²⁷ Peter therefore denied again: and straightway the cock crew.

¹⁵ So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He saith to him again a second time, Simon, [son] of John, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Tend my sheep.

²⁴ And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, show of these two the one whom thou hast chosen,

⁸ And God, who knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us;

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

⁴ For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be made sorry, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
⁵ But if any hath caused sorrow, he hath caused sorrow, not to me, but in part (that I press not too heavily) to you all. ⁶ Sufficient to such a one is this punishment which was [inflicted] by the many; ⁷ so that contrariwise ye should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his overmuch sorrow.

⁸ For though I made you sorry with my epistle, I do not regret it: though I did regret [it] (for I see that that epistle made you sorry, though but for a season), ⁹ I now rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye were made sorry unto repentance; for ye were made sorry after a godly sort, that ye might suffer loss by us in nothing. ¹⁰ For godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation, [a repentance] which bringeth no regret: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. ¹¹ For behold, this selfsame thing, that ye were made sorry after a godly sort, what earnest care it wrought in you, yea what clearing of yourselves, yea what indignation, yea what fear, yea what longing, yea what zeal, yea what avenging! In everything ye approved yourselves to be pure in the matter.

⁸ I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love. ⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might become rich.

³⁰ And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.

⁶ Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, ye have been put to grief in manifold trials,

¹² Wherefore I shall be ready always to put you in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and are established in the truth which is with [you]. ¹³ And I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; ¹⁴ knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle cometh swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ signified unto me. ¹⁵ Yea, I will give diligence that at every time ye may be able after my decease to call these things to remembrance.

¹ This is now, beloved, the second epistle that I write unto you; and in both of them I stir up your sincere mind by putting you in remembrance;

¹⁶ Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ [My] little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth. ¹⁹ Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him: ²⁰ because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God; ²² and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. ²³ And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he gave us commandment. ²⁴ And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

⁷ because that for the sake of the Name they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. ⁸ We therefore ought to welcome such, that we may be fellow-workers for the truth.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

²⁷ Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause came I unto this hour. ²⁸ Father, glorify thy name.} There came therefore a voice out of heaven, [saying], I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

³⁶ Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow afterwards.

³ And when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. And [those] were the days of unleavened bread. ⁴ And when he had taken him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to guard him; intending after the Passover to bring him forth to the people.

¹¹ And coming to us, and taking Paul's girdle, he bound his own feet and hands, and said, Thus saith the Holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

⁴ For indeed we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life.

²⁴ but my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

²⁰ And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not; ye have indeed done all this evil; yet turn not aside from following Jehovah, but serve Jehovah with all your heart:

³⁸ And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.

²¹ From that time began Jesus to show unto his disciples, that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up. ²² And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall never be unto thee. ²³ But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art a stumbling-block unto me: for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men.
²⁴ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, { If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. ²⁵ For whosoever would save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it.

²⁸ And Jesus said unto them, { Verily I say unto you, that ye who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

³³ But he turning about, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and saith, Get thee behind me, Satan; for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men. ³⁴ And he called unto him the multitude with his disciples, and said unto them, { If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. ³⁵ For whosoever would save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's shall save it. ³⁶ For what doth it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? ³⁷ For what should a man give in exchange for his life? ³⁸ For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man also shall be ashamed of him, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.}

²² saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up. ²³ And he said unto all, { If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. ²⁴ For whosoever would save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. ²⁵ For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose or forfeit his own self? ²⁶ For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in his own glory, and [the glory] of the Father, and of the holy angels.

²⁶ If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honor.

³³ But this he said, signifying by what manner of death he should die.

³⁶ Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow afterwards. ³⁷ Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee.

³² that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should die.

²² Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what [is that] to thee? follow thou me.

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be put to shame, but [that] with all boldness, as always, [so] now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.

¹¹ if any man speaketh, [speaking] as it were oracles of God; if any man ministereth, [ministering] as of the strength which God supplieth: that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
¹² Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial among you, which cometh upon you to prove you, as though a strange thing happened unto you: ¹³ but insomuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy. ¹⁴ If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed [are ye]; because the [Spirit] of glory and the Spirit of God resteth upon you.

¹⁴ knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle cometh swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ signified unto me.

²³ There was at the table reclining in Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. ²⁴ Simon Peter therefore beckoneth to him, and saith unto him, Tell [us] who it is of whom he speaketh. ²⁵ He leaning back, as he was, on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? ²⁶ Jesus therefore answereth, He it is, for whom I shall dip the sop, and give it him. So when he had dipped the sop, he taketh and giveth it to Judas, [the son] of Simon Iscariot.

³ And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? ⁴ And Jesus answered and said unto them, { Take heed that no man lead you astray.

²³ And one said unto him, Lord, are they few that are saved? And he said unto them, ²⁴ { Strive to enter in by the narrow door: for many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

⁶ They therefore, when they were come together, asked him, saying, Lord, dost thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? ⁷ And he said unto them, { It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father hath set within His own authority.

²⁷ For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds. ²⁸ Verily I say unto you, There are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.}

³ And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

²⁷ For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

⁴⁴ Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.

³¹ But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory:

¹ And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There are some here of them that stand [by], who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God come with power.

¹⁹ Now this he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

⁵ Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.

²⁶ For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye proclaim the Lord's death till he come.

⁷ Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.

⁷ Behold, he cometh with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they that pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

²⁵ Nevertheless that which ye have, hold fast till I come.

¹¹ I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no one take thy crown.

⁷ And behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book.

²⁰ He who testifieth these things saith, Yea: I come quickly. Amen: come, Lord Jesus.

²⁹ The secret things belong unto Jehovah our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

²⁸ And unto man he said,
Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;
And to depart from evil is understanding.

¹³ Why dost thou strive against him,
For that he giveth not account of any of his matters?

³⁵ and all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

¹⁵ And in these days Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren, and said (and there was a multitude of persons [gathered] together, about a hundred and twenty),

²⁷ and ye also bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.}

³⁵ And he that hath seen hath borne witness, and his witness is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye also may believe.

¹ That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we beheld, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life ² (and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare unto you the life, the eternal [life], which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us);

⁶ This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood.

¹² Demetrius hath the witness of all [men], and of the truth itself: yea, we also bear witness; and thou knowest that our witness is true.

¹⁴ Lo, these are but the outskirts of his ways:
And how small a whisper do we hear of him!
But the thunder of his power who can understand?

⁵ Many, O Jehovah my God, are the wonderful works which thou hast done,
And thy thoughts which are to us-ward;
They cannot be set in order unto thee;
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered.

¹⁵ My mouth shall tell of thy righteousness,
[And] of thy salvation all the day;
For I know not the numbers [thereof].

¹² And furthermore, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

¹⁰ Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

⁵ the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good tidings preached to them.

²⁴ And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.}

³⁰ Many other signs therefore did Jesus in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book: ³¹ but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.

³⁸ [even] Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

³⁵ In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring ye ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

³² And what shall I more say? for the time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah; of David and Samuel and the prophets:
