⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me,
And understand what he would say unto me.

² I will say unto God, Do not condemn me;
Show me wherefore thou contendest with me.

²² Then call thou, and I will answer;
Or let me speak, and answer thou me. ²³ How many are mine iniquities and sins?
Make me to know my transgression and my sin.

² I know that thou canst do all things,
And that no purpose of thine can be restrained. ³ Who is this that hideth counsel without knowledge?
Therefore have I uttered that which I understood not,
Things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. ⁴ Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak;
I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. ⁵ I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear;
But now mine eye seeth thee: ⁶ Wherefore I abhor [myself],
And repent in dust and ashes.

³ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. ⁴ For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
